@tinamarie1974 Tennis is a lot like hockey, except they have a ball instead of a puck and rackets instead of sticks, and they play on grass (or clay) instead of ice, and the net’s in the middle not at each end and you lose a point if you hit it, and there’s only one per side instead of six, and there’s no clock, and they usually have all their teeth. Otherwise, same thing!
Rafa’s win was impressive because it was his 19th Slam and because he’s still able to be dominant at 33 and with his injury history.
But the weekend has to go to Bianca Andreescu, 1st Canadian to win a Grand Slam ever and she did it against the greatest player in women’s history. And she’s only 19 years old.
Nadals 5 hour marathon was grueling but I’ve never seen someone apologize for winning a Grand Slam event like Andreescu did…it was pretty funny and oh so quintessentially Canadian…eh?
Will no one comment about the egregious grammar foul? Not only did I not know what the US Open is, I had to read it twice to comprehend my blissful ignorance.
Um, was everyone aware NHL training camps are starting this week?? That is the real news story here!!!
