@tonylegrone Yeah, I don’t know why co-worker wasn’t listed next to “employer/employee.” I spent a lot of time on the phone this past week with an out-of-state co-worker, but neither of us is the other’s employer.
To Hell with Frontier. Seriously. 2+ hours hold time every call for a bill that shouldn’t even exist but does because F me that’s why, for half an F’ing year. I should just take them to court but I don’t have the money. Bloody twats. Trying to con half a grand out of me thinking I won’t fight it
Sad that so many spend longer on the phone with customer service. And most of it on hold. But at least there’s music. That shows me how important I must be. They tell me the whole time how they can’t wait to talk to me. Now that’s love.
I work at a college as an advisor so calls from students and potential students are always what is longest for me. Yesterday it was a call from a guy playing 20 questions and a majority of it is stuff he could have read on our website. IF he knew where to look. 10 min is average but some of them drag out when I have to explain something multiple times. Educationese is so overly complicated and confusing.
I tend to be short and to the point on the phone - not one for idle phone chatter. But one of my best friends (known him since 5th grade) is more, er, loquacious. What would normally be a quick, “Meet me at the cafe at 9AM tomorrow”, sort of phone call can easily stretch into an hour or more. We call the red low-battery warning light on the cordless phone the “Paul light”.
I like seeing how long I can keep those credit card scam telemarketers talking.
It’s not as easy as it used to be.
They tend to hang up on you much quicker than the telemarketers of old. (Probably because not representing a legitimate company).
I’ve been blacklisted by one scammer. One of those “we can lower your rate on your credit card” robot callers where you press 1 to talk to a live operator. I’ve been told my number is blacklisted by an automated message a few times.
That made my day the first time to know that a scammer had blacklisted me (I still got the initial robocall though… That didn’t stop)
