@jaybird yeah, I got the first two weeks but not going for week three until I know what I’m getting. Still waiting on first week.
Unfortunately tracking is useless with their new shipping company. I’ve got an item coming from Meh that made it to Georgia six days ago but no information since then.
My first week pasta left Texas six days ago too… But no information updated since then for that package either.
At the rate this pasta is taking to ship it will be completely dried out by the time it reaches me.
@RiotDemon
Then we know for sure that the plan isn’t to take X amount of pasta and divide it amongst however many Y purchasers of said pasta there were.
Unless there’s a secret cutoff max pasta per recipient if there were too few purchasers and the pasta shipped would be inordinately large. Unlike, say orders over at CandyCornDrop.com.
I’ve just decided that I’m having them shipped to me and will gift them secretly from there (probably by dropping them off on someone’s front porch without the shipping label). Too much hassle with dealing with shipping addresses…
“PastaProp #3: A Sight To Behold”? The previous two were drops. I’m not sure I’d use linguine as a prop. Well, as a stage prop, sure, but not to prop something up.
@sammydog01 Yeah, I looked. It wasn’t up there when I commented. Though I’m not sure how, based on timestamps. But I did get a screenshot so I could assure myself that I wasn’t crazy after they added it.
Linguini is better than Spaghettini but still a lifeless strand… Still more surface area to hold sauce though than the spagho, and that’s a good plus.
I might have ordered some and shipped it to my mum if any of the first two shipments had arrived and I knew what I was actually getting. Want to see what the first two kinds I shipped to my wife are like before Inflict pasta further afield.
Lol… Maybe next week you will have something better though.
I’m pretty sure the MrsDr will be glad to eat pasta twice a day every day. I just need to make so much sauce. Why isn’t there a saucedrop to compliment this?
@natekimh@RiotDemon my First orders estimate is Tuesday, May 26th - Monday, June 1st, but it hasn’t shipped yet. I’m just hoping it arrives soon so I can feel comfortable biting a 3rd time…
@briannameeps@natekimh@RiotDemon same here (may 26-june 1), and for the second one shows june 9th to 15th. I finally received things from sidedeal that shipped on may 4th so with that in mind, pasta orders for weeks 1 and 2 wont arrive until week 6 on the pasta drop menu. Ordered 1 for my wife and 1 for my sister but holding off for rest of family until i see what arrives for first 2 and how they are packaged
@briannameeps@natekimh@RiotDemon@tjg5181 packaging is kind of an important part. If it is restaurant packaged, what would that mean? an undivided 20 lb bulk package of noodles or something? Then you’d have to divide it up and repackage just to store it, which might be more trouble than it’s worth. And shipping packaging too. A significant percentage of my meh orders have come in half crushed half open boxes. I’ve got penne on the way, but I’m reluctant to order more until reports start coming in.
I’m going to guess it will be something like
and I’m noting that it’s 2 10 lb packages in a box, with a warning that the packages inside may split in transit.
@mediocrebot@RiotDemon I said it was a guess. I just kind of don’t want to order more pasta until I see if it’s even going to arrive still contained in the box.
Check out the comments on the spaghettini post, which people have started to receive. My single 10 lb bulk bag of spaghettini arrived in a badly crushed box with no packing material inside and the bag containing the pasta sliced open in numerous locations possibly from shipping or possibly like that before shipping. Regardless, I don’t feel that shipping opened food should come with anything less than a warning about the safety and risks of consuming it.
No, only 1 of 2 in the e-mail; USPS’s Informed Delivery shows me two coming from MEDIOCRE COMPANY. Then you can plug those into Pitney Bowes’ tracking site to see the weight once it has been received by them. One is 22 lbs 2 oz and the other is 22 lbs 6 oz.
@Pufferfishy If you ship to yourself and you have setup USPS informed delivery you might can find additional tracking numbers. Otherwise the pitney bowes tracking is the best you get.
I saw my linguine had shipped, so I went to check Informed Delivery… and I have 8 tracking numbers. I assume some are my linguine and some are my penne. Only some have weight info so far on Pitney Bowes, so it’s over 100lbs total, probably 160lbs? We’re getting some good laughs, but I’m also going to have to figure out what to do with 160lbs of pasta. Oops?
@tabbysandhuskys My current plan is to ask everyone I know if they’d like 10lbs of one or the other, and donate the rest to whoever in my region can use bulk-packaged pasta. I’m sure there will be a good fit somewhere.
OK, so I’m not the only one, but perhaps just a ‘lucky’ one: My wife just called me outside and asked why on earth did I order five boxes of linguini, which were all stacked up on our walkway to the house. Each has two boxes inside, with 10 lbs in each…100 lbs of linguini!! Awesome. I’m giving 90 lbs away. : )
I have one official tracking number and an unknown weighing 23 lbs on Informed Delivery. My assumption is 2 boxes of linguini. I should find out this weekend
My mother texted me yesterday in all caps: I JUST GOT 16 BOXES OF LINGUINE!!!
BWAHAHA!!! omg this makes up for the 1 box of spaghetti. And it was delivered to their PO box so they had to make 8 trips to the truck with it all. Lord I’m going to be laughing about this for years. This is the best ever. She’s so pissed. Haha
@tabbysandhuskys@tinamarie1974 200 lbs so far. 10 large boxes and each had two 10 lb boxes. The postmaster was NOT amused lol.
We’ve had 3 shipments delivered to BFE south Arkansas but the two shipments to my son in Fayetteville still haven’t arrived. The number of cases up there has skyrocketed recently so I’m thinking their post office is being hit hard.
Had 1 tracking number for 20lbs. Ended up with 80lbs of pasta. The delivery guy stacked them on top of each other right in front of the door so we couldn’t get out without moving them.
My tracking still says the order is processing… so I was briefly worried someone sent me pasta AND I ordered some for myself. I did confirm this was the pasta I sent myself! I’m not getting anymore linguini!
I really hope the penne to my sister is similar! I’m still waiting for that to be delivered… I guess it’s harder to get pasta delivered to Texas than Maryland… maybe penne is just harder to ship than linguini?
@carl669 You will only get one tracking number. You need to go to USPS Informed Delivery to look and see if there are any other boxes coming. If you have any other Mediocre orders, you will need to determine the weights of all the orders. That means you have to enter each individual tracking number into the Pitney Bowes website, click on enter and then look for the locator pin (View Tracking page). That will show you the weight of your box. If it’s approx. 22 pounds, chances are you got pasta. And this weight tracking works for IRK weights, too!
OR you can sit back, pour a vodka, and just wait and be pleasantly surprised (or not) when the mail arrives.
@Barney I like the sitting back and watching approach. I laughed my ass off when he posted pics of the 5 boxes on Facebook. hell… I’m still laughing about it almost 4 hours later!
@OnionSoup each big box has 2 smaller boxes containing 10lb bag each and i got 10 big boxes, so my math says 200lbs. Das a lotta noods for 20 bucks and shipping. Our local food pantry is gonna be psyched
We sent some to my boyfriend’s sister. We didn’t tell her anything was coming. She in NYC. She was very confused yesterday, when her building was like you need to let the mailman in. He has Pasta. She got 100lbs.
So I decided to pastadrop my nieces and nephew for this one… all was going according to plan, until with all the quarantine restrictions being lifted, my sister and bro-in-law was able to find a vacation rental for right around the delivery time.
And when did all 40 pounds of it get delivered? The day they left, of course.
And who is house sitting for them while they’re gone? Me, of course.
/giphy thwarted
(Yeah, they’ll still see it in the pile of mail once they get back… but it’s just not the same as staring gobsmacked at the mailman dropping it off, dangit.)
Got 20lbs here. Ya know, reading through the previous thread, I was like, oh, 20lbs isn’t much.
Looking at it in my living room-Uh yeah, 20 lbs of pasta is a decent chunk. Useful, as we were almost out of straight pastas (we still had some penne and farfalle) from our pre-covid stocking up. Kinda glad I didn’t get a huge amount, I don’t know where I’d store it all! Still gonna laugh when my roommate sees it later.
Correction- Another box showed up with another 20lbs in it,so 40lbs total. My roommate was so confused when I told him I also ordered us the random box between the two deliveries.
I was hoping for enough pasta to donate to the local soup kitchen that has been hit hard by Covid. I got a 40 lb. delivery last night, so definitely enough to share the riches! Thank you, PASTA DROP!
Tracking using the special site said just under 23 pounds.
Woke up this morning to 4 boxes on my porch. I laughed and thought, “40 pounds!? That’s twice what I was expecting!”
I then opened a box.
It was 10 pounds per box, but the box had 2 boxes. 80 pounds in all! Needless to say I am overjoyed. I’d definitely get it again, if I ever need pasta again. I’d order gluten free for my parents right away though.
Pretty bummed. 10lbs for both the 2nd and 3rd drops. Not to mention my 3rd drop came with holes in the bag making it tougher to donate. I missed the first drop. We will see how the 4th is. I get it’s a crap shoot. I like the gambly nature of it. Just was hoping to have a little more at least once. 2 bucks a pound ain’t cheap for pasta.
@chuegen 10lbs = not very funny.
20lbs = a lot of pasta, a decent price, mildly amusing.
40lbs = the sweet spot. An amusing amount of pasta, good price, will get laughs. Think you hit the sweet spot with the Lingunini. Hoping that’s what my victims get.
More than 40lbs = Funny as all heck. An amazing price… Will envoke wrath once the amusement dies and they have to store all that pasta or find people to give it to. We’ve found some charities not even accepting pasta because of corona virus.
40lbs really is the sweet spot though. Yeah, it’s a lot of pasta, but it’s not going to fill someone’s house.
The guy at my PMB today seemed rather perplexed as to why I had 5 identical heavy boxes = 100lbs of linguine!
It was a bit of a challenge getting it all to fit in my small car…
Last week I received 40 pounds of penne, and figured they screwed up and sent me all penne and no linguine (hadn’t been keeping up with the discussions) But wasn’t going to complain. I planned to distribute the two unopened inner boxes of penne to a couple friends soon, but now having a car overflowing with linguine meant I played pasta Santa on my way home.
I got a PM from one of my friends who I didn’t make contact with saying she had somehow received a box with my name on it but it had the wrong address (she didn’t know my mailing address) and was utterly confused. Much laughter ensued as the chain of events were broken down for her. Along with photos of her family enjoying “linguine for days” for dinner.
Well worth the fun… A little afraid to order the final box though. knowing that I could end up with anywhere from 10 to over 200 pounds of pasta!
Like most I was expecting a single box… I am leaving a gift card for my poor mail carrier after I ended up with 5 of the 20lb boxes on my porch this afternoon. I saw him make multiple trips to my porch and that got me curious. I must have stood there for a good couple minutes in disbelief and then started chuckling as I brought them in. My better half thought I had lost my mind because I couldn’t stop laughing and when she saw why she was equally stupefied. Needless to say another order has been placed and is going to a local soup kitchen and even if they only get one box it will still do good!
I can’t believe I doubted the pasta gods. They sure showed me. I sent my mom the penne and she got 40 lbs. She was annoyed and wished that I got 100lbs. Drum roll please… I got my order today, and it was 140 lbs!!!
So we sent some to the sister-in-law, with a vague message. We didn’t want to ruin the surprise. A couple of days after it was delivered, having heard nothing from her about it (she and the wife talk often), the wife texted.
“Hey, did you get a strange delivery the other day.”
The mail carrier apparently asked if she could back up to the garage. “I’ve got this macaroni for you.”
“What the hell? Check the address. . . Yeah, that’s us.”
The S-I-L was amused, but felt bad for the carrier. But as it turns out, the carrier’s sister runs a soup kitchen. Which, yeah, created more work for her, because this conversation took place after the delivery was unloaded. Three boxes back in the truck.
And they have a daughter who lives nearby, so probably a whole box to her. She loves linguine, but 100 lbs is a lot. And our brother-in-law has the diabetes, so he’s trying to avoid the carbs (we didn’t think about that bit).
Signature Mediocre. This is why I love you guys. This crazy-ass shit that disrupts people’s lives. Truly. I love that shit.
Oh, and she immediately thought of us as the anonymous donors, but checked herself because gluten. I mean, just because I can’t have the glutens doesn’t mean I can’t give them to you.
@joelmw I definitely feel bad for my mail carrier. I gifted the penne but ordered linguine for me. I mean, how much could actually get mailed to me? I’m currently at 180 lbs… I’m no sure the pasta gods are done with me yet!!!
@shyxgrl I wouldn’t. We got the ziti shipment before the linguine. One box linguine arrived Thursday, other is still banging around in the Pitney Bowes Greenwood, IN hell.
Well well well today i got ten boxes of noodles…what well the king of noodles do next get a Kiddie pool and fix a neighborhood batch of spaghetti or random drop boxes off to neighbors
One of my orders was directly to myself, so I could share a little with neighbors. The first pair of boxes showed up and I was smiling, because what a great bunch of pasta! Then the next 3 boxes came a week later. And today, 4 more. So over 10 days or so, I got what MIGHT be the whole order of 180 lbs of pasta.
Now I’ll anxiously keep checking my orders page to see if it updates to “Delivered” or if I’m getting another truckload.
Is “Storage For Pasta” the next big deal on Meh? If not, Get On It, my Mediocre friends!
@rbreier433 Congrats! Same here, must have been a ton of linguine around the warehouse! What are your plans for your bounty? Fortunately we’ve been able to give much away to folks who were happy to receive it as even though we love pasta and it’ll keep pretty much indefinitely if stored properly…that’s a LOT OF NOODS…
@afurball Congrats back! We hit the motherlode, eh? I’ve found homes for 40 pounds, and I’m hoping to find one or two soup kitchens for the rest. I can’t eat that much pasta, and linguine is difficult to turn into a macaroni necklace, so giving it away wins!!
Well reading all of these successes has only made me more anxious instead of confident that I’LL EVER GET MY LINGUINE!!!
Pitney Bowes has had since June 16… finally made it to Atlanta (some warehouse in South ATL now since Friday).
Pitney Bowes apparently could learn a thing or two from FEDEX/UPS.

So on week three, I ordered week 2’s pasta, all the while week 1 is still processing…
Do i have a sickness? No. Vmp ftw
@jaybird yeah, I got the first two weeks but not going for week three until I know what I’m getting. Still waiting on first week.
Unfortunately tracking is useless with their new shipping company. I’ve got an item coming from Meh that made it to Georgia six days ago but no information since then.

@mike808 guess we don’t know, that’s the fun of it. I haven’t seen any responses of people that got their spaghettini.
@mike808 I was hoping that site existed. My friend loves candy corn.
@Aschdrw @mike808 Time to get some new friends.

@donrull wow - that’s really sad
Just got two Mediocre tracking numbers on my informed delivery…40lbs of linguine?
Same for me - 2 tracking numbers appeared. The Linguini appears to be near ship time.
@chuegen Did you get 2 tracking numbers in the email? I only see 1
No, only 1 of 2 in the e-mail; USPS’s Informed Delivery shows me two coming from MEDIOCRE COMPANY. Then you can plug those into Pitney Bowes’ tracking site to see the weight once it has been received by them. One is 22 lbs 2 oz and the other is 22 lbs 6 oz.
@chuegen Hmmm, my informed delivery doesn’t have packages showing up. Weird!
/red-firm-blood
5 tracking numbers @ 22lb each, lol. Good job my wife loves linguine with white clam sauce!
How are you folks getting actual tracking numbers? All I have a Pitney-Bowes number and it’s been sitting in Indiana since the 5th…
@Pufferfishy If you ship to yourself and you have setup USPS informed delivery you might can find additional tracking numbers. Otherwise the pitney bowes tracking is the best you get.
@raccoon81 Thanks. I gifted it.
@raccoon81 I have informed delivery set up, but no tracking numbers are showing up for me. Not sure why
Shipped! At least 20lbs of pasta en route!
I saw my linguine had shipped, so I went to check Informed Delivery… and I have 8 tracking numbers. I assume some are my linguine and some are my penne. @saramwrap Maybe donate a few bags to your local food bank or gift some to neighbors? Or else you’ll be stuck eating pasta for the next 10 years!
@tabbysandhuskys My current plan is to ask everyone I know if they’d like 10lbs of one or the other, and donate the rest to whoever in my region can use bulk-packaged pasta. I’m sure there will be a good fit somewhere.

Got lucky (unlucky?) enough to be put in the 100 lbs. group. Will have to figure out what to do with all of this linguine. Recipes anyone?
@ACDawg If you’re a fan of seafood, linguine and clam sauce is amazing. I also just use it like wider spaghetti because I’m lazy.
My mother texted me yesterday in all caps: I JUST GOT 16 BOXES OF LINGUINE!!!

@tabbysandhuskys @tinamarie1974 200 lbs so far.
@ivannabc @tabbysandhuskys oh my word! That is crazy
@katzchen My status says shipped, but no update in location or informed delivery. Sure hope I get more than 1 box too!
i only got 1 tracking number… and my friend got 100 lbs of pasta today. good times were had by all.
@carl669 The PastaDrops have been a lot of fun. However, you gotta admit, it’s also fun to know the weight of your IRK before it arrives.
@Barney true. I’ve got 6 lbs of irk coming my way next week!
@carl669 Six glorious pounds of disappointment!
omg, 200lbs?! awesome!
POPSOCKETS! SPROCKETS! DAVY CROCKETT! AWESOME!
@lysariala seriously… Lol. 200lbs? In one drop? Surely you jest.
/giphy airplane don’t call me shirley
@OnionSoup each big box has 2 smaller boxes containing 10lb bag each and i got 10 big boxes, so my math says 200lbs. Das a lotta noods for 20 bucks and shipping. Our local food pantry is gonna be psyched
@lysariala yikes yeah
That’s a lot of pasta. Highest I’ve seen anyone else receive on here was 120lbs.
I’m scared, I go to track mine and it says it got dropped off with Pitney bowes. And the last update was from the 9th. What did I send to my wife?!
@moony77 Similar boat. Sent some to a friend and it’s been stuck since the 12th somewhere. Hope they actually get it.
Oh hell. 120 lbs. husband might kill me if we get more. He said “can we stop now?!” I had to admit I already ordered the ziti and spaghetti
I stand corrected. This was both the linguine and the ziti.
20lbs of linguine and 100 lbs of ziti.
Still… oh boy.
My targets getting smaller values:
Spaghettini - 10 lbs
Penne - 10 lbs
Linguini - 40 lbs
Ziti - 20 lbs
Spaghetti … we’ll see what my boss, sister, brother, friend, and food bank all get
@chuegen 10lbs = not very funny.
I sent my uncle the linguine…he got 80 pounds today
I love the shipping company…
.
I got an additional 20 lbs yesterday, and 20 lbs today. I’m up to 180 pounds. I’m not marked as delivered in the system. I’m scared.
My buddy received one box and inside was one, ripped open 10 lb. Bag…lame…
@freedlvry
I mean, you are dealing with the self-described “a Mediocre Corporation”. They did promise unpredictability. Maybe it’s karma?
So we sent some to the sister-in-law, with a vague message. We didn’t want to ruin the surprise. A couple of days after it was delivered, having heard nothing from her about it (she and the wife talk often), the wife texted.
“Hey, did you get a strange delivery the other day.”
“LMAO. Hell yes! 5 boxes of linguine!”
[Note: 20 lb boxes]
Well my 12 year old daughter got her 200#, 10 box delivery today… With a note saying, experiment, share and not to forget those who have less
Should I be worried that the Ziti recipient got theirs before the Linguini recipient has?
@shyxgrl
Yes
@shyxgrl I wouldn’t. We got the ziti shipment before the linguine. One box linguine arrived Thursday, other is still banging around in the Pitney Bowes Greenwood, IN hell.
Well. I got 80lbs one day and was overwhelmed as to where to put it all. Another 20 lbs came the next day.
I’ve given away 40 lbs to really amused friends so far.
The spaghettini I shipped still hasn’t arrived. I’m losing hope. 32 days in transit.
/giphy thoughtful-unattractive-invention
Anyone else getting boxes that look like the driver used them as a booster seat for a few days?
@Pufferfishy Mine was a little smashed, yes. But I only got one box (two 10# bags). So maybe we ended up with the same amount of usable noods?
Did the linguine not come with a coupon code ticket? Mine didn’t have one.
@katbyter they were attached to the bag or they fell off and into the box in transit in mine.
I just received another box of linguine today, after not getting any since 6/18. This puts my total at TWO HUNDRED POUNDS!!!

@bjvangundy HAHA!!! I knew if I came on here and bitched that the Pasta Fairy would respond!
Just 4 hours after my whining here, I got a notification that I should get delivery tomorrow… (so probably next week!)
Dropped 80 lbs at my friend’s house and 20 lbs 2 weeks later. Good thing he on a diet.
@mpolmar lol
I wish to purchase the pasta. Where’s the button?
@DangerousDame PastaDrop is currently over, follow https://mercatalyst.com for future retail experiments.
