Crotchety haughtiness, punctuated by “yelling” at me for no reason. She’s 16+ years old & never lets me forget it. Of course, she’s the princess & gets (almost) whatever she wants, if i can figure out what that is, since she’s become very finicky, too. Help. Me.
@ircon96 I love this - people always stereotype dogs as loving and eagerly adoring, and cats as grumpy and aloof. I say they’re all individuals like people, and come in all personality types!
As Cerridwyn said first, no dogs. We do have suet feeders for the outside birds. And we have had two parakeets. After the first one died we got a second who turned out to be much nicer and lived, IIRC 13 years. It was said when she died and we miss her. Sorry to say, we have to much to do out of town now to have been able to replace her.
Nonexistence. I had a foster dog for about 24 hours once, handed it off to my daughter, who handed it off to a friend, who took it to work that day - and it was adopted before the end of the day. Really nice very small non-horribly-paranoid cat-sized dog. And despite having been taken for an extended walk just before bedtime, it still peed in my shoe less than an hour later. And it insisted on being in the bedroom with us at night. (Fortunately, in those days, there were no cats in that half of the house.)
I decided that I’d stick with cats. Nice, simple, openly evil, friendly, loving, devious, independent, supervisory cats.
@ViperOne Same - my current dog (Australian shepherd mix) is probably the friendliest one I have had. He loves everyone (platonically ), but generally knows when to back off.
You left off the option again that says I don’t have a dog
@Cerridwyn I chose neglect, because I haven’t fed my non-existent dog in decades.
@awk @Cerridwyn Oh, I picked wrong! I chose “Something else” for “imaginary.” Neglect is better, though.
@awk @Cerridwyn @xobzoo No dog here, but I’ll bet SWMBO’s NintenDog is in pretty poor shape, she hasn’t checked in in years.
Being a cat as all pets should be.
Cats!!
@yakkoTDI
Do you have a cat now?!
@Kyeh Not a real one. I will not have another live cat until I move. This place is not big enough with all my carp taking up space.
@Kyeh @yakkoTDI cats might help with the “carp”. Most enjoy fish!
Sorry I don’t usually point out typos but that one was very fitting.
@earl_danger @Kyeh It is technically not a typo. I having been using carp in place of crap since the '90s. Very few people notice.
@earl_danger @Kyeh @yakkoTDI Supported by the US perception of nondecorative carp as “trash fish”.
Continuing to be a dog. It’s kind of how he rolls
Pets and cuddles, as it is every day
Indifference.

@Kyeh So true. Every individual I’ve met, of either species, has had their very own unique personality, just like people.
Fiction as my ‘dog’ is a figment of my imagination.
Holidays are just another day of treats and cuddles for my pooch.

Sleeping just like every other day

@werehatrack OMG you described Cats perfectly, but they have a way of wrapping themselves around you & getting in your heart !
The only dog I have anymore is a Hot Dog!
Happy to see more people coming in and out and loving on him
