It’s only July you say. Whatever, my work league already required commitments 2 weeks ago. We are not the last minute league like others I know here. It is never too early to get ready for some football!
First lets see who wants to return.

Please post here by 7/23 11:59 EST if you want a spot in the league. If someone does not want to return @studerc will be given the the first spot that opens up - I owe him that. After that, open spots will be given to those that request it (no FFL newbies, please).
This year we will be changing to nfl.com for hosting. ESPN SUCKS! We will also have three divisions this year. East/West/FlyOver.
The rules are simple:
1) you participate in the Live Draft no matter what - I hate autodrafts or lists. (this is non-negotiable, no excuses - if you can’t do this go someplace else)
- you know the teams, the players, and the rosters
- you participate in free agency each week.
- you are able to set a lineup each week.
- Be amenable to fair trades - it makes it interesting.
- if you take Jay Cutler in the first round I will lop off your head - you don’t know anything about fantasy.
- you will participate in trash talking here!
- if you do not follow all of these rules the Red Queen will lop off your head.
This is all about fun - to the death!

I don’t even know how to properly play football or the rules. I know they kick a ball and try to run to the other side of the field to score a touchdown. That’s not sufficient enough to be in a league though.

@parodymandotcom I had to put a date in to sign up, but it is totally negotiable by everyone in the league. It will go on in very late August/very early September
Drafting August 27th for my local league. I can do any date that is not August 27th. I am in.

@jbartus Brock Osweiler started almost as many games as Peyton Manning. In the 7 games we won that Peyton actually started, 84 of the 168 points the Broncos scored were Defensive Touchdowns and Field Goals. That’s 50%. (Very few people had anything good to say about Peyton Manning in 2015.)
I love Peyton and I will miss watching him play. But I was more upset when I learned that Osweiler was leaving us for the Texans than I was when I learned that Peyton was (as we expected) retiring.
@christinewas Total Broncos Points - 50% = Failing to win (make?) a Super Bowl.
Too bad about Osweiler but that’s what happens when you make someone feel under valued.

I’m back for another year. And not to give all my strategy away, but I’m definitely going to take Calvin Johnson in the first round. I predict a huge year for him.
@MrMark This means all of our playoff teams are back again. I don’t know about you three (@mfladd, @teripie), but I plan on making the playoffs again. (And winning. I thought it might be fun to win, this time.)

@DrunkCat Does nfl.com send out funny weekly reports about the teams like cbssports does?
@mfladd I don’t know if they send them out but they certainly have auto-generated editorials for each match-up. I bet I even linked to them last year, but now because I’m a sap I’m gonna go see if I can dig any up.

@mfladd This would make more sense to me as a diff from what the default is.
@DrunkCat default is almost the same. QB interceptions changed from -2 to -1 . Points allowed in defense numbers changed slightly to not be so harsh in the higher numbers. Some extra points added for 200+ rushing and 400+ passing. Other than that they are default numbers. Also, ties will be be broken by bench scores.
@DrunkCat But here are the defaults you requested.

@mfladd Can we please opt for no tie breaker instead of bench scores? Bench score tie breakers were very unpopular last year and teams should not be penalized for bye weeks or patiently stashing injured players (or similar situations). Plus, ties should be much less common with fractional scoring. And having ties in our win-loss records can actually clarify rankings more than they complicate them.
The whole point of the bench is having players whose performance doesn’t matter. Using them for a tie-breaker eliminates those guarantees.
I’m sure you remember how persistent I can be about rules I think are stupid. Might as well give in now.

@mfladd Also, do we know the increments for fractional scoring? It seems like ours were .5 last year, but my other fractional leagues have been .1. (Does that question make sense?)

@mfladd Thanks. I’m having trouble finding the team settings at all (saw them briefly before joining, now the mobile site is giving me nothing). I’m about to try the app. I assume I will have more luck there. Then I might even stumble upon the answer I’m looking for.

Wait, what host site will you be using? Part of me wants in, the other part of me wants nothing to do with it. Last year, i started 3-0… then lost 7 in a row. I couldn’t get any good waiver claims when it mattered.

I must throw out the cavaet however that my second round of grad classes are starting up at the end of August and my Wednesday nights are straight booked. If the draft were to land on that day my chance i would have to cede to the next participant.

I had to leave my beloved league because I fly out for a family emergency on thur. The gracious @christinewas is taking over the administrative duties of this league - she is awesome.
This league needs two more experienced FFL players to make it complete. We are the best FFL experience here on meh. If you think you have what it takes to compete within this league, ante-up.
