@jsh139 Current going rate for LEGO sets is $10 per 100 pieces (approx) + $0-5 for licensing, depending on the license. (Star Wars is on the higher end)
@jsh139@gcdelp I'm not saying that Star Wars licensing agreements (and DC and Marvel, etc) don't factor into the over-all LEGO budget, but Lego Star Wars sets are priced comparably with other sets (such as LEGO City) that have no such licensing over-head: LEGO City Police Station (854 pieces) retails for 99.99 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle Tydirium (937 pieces) retails for 99.99 LEGO City Deep Sea Exploration (717 Pieces) retails for 119.99 LEGO Star Wars Poe's Figther (717 Pieces) retails for 79.99
@jsh139 They may be overpriced but the NEVER depreciate. Any Star Wars Lego set that I have ever bought, still sells for the same price retail or resale.
Here is the insanely priced dvd version that includes not very up-cleaned-up original theatrical versions as a bonus. This is cheaper on Ebay or on Amazon.co.uk. you want the boxed set with Luke and Vader fighting, and a blue light behind them.
You can also buy these as individual movies. Just make sure the covers match these pix.
@SSteve From back in the days when you could see the scan lines on your TV across the room, and before the movies were re-imagined or politically corrected.
I don't have a problem with director's cut releases, but the original Star Wars (before it had an episode number) was one of the very few times I was compelled to sit through an entire second viewing of a movie. (Yes, they used to let you do that.) Some things deserve to not be "improved."
@SSteve Pix of the trilogy set you are looking for (on the right, obviously)
I am not seeing the trilogy set on amazon.co.uk anymore. However, ebay...or amazon.com $$$$$$....or buy them individually....or perhaps Disney will feel the force and do an uncorrupted blu-ray release....
Oh yeah, with these things it's back to the days of wide-screen vs not. Effing dark ages.
Star Wars are for posers. I haven't seen any of them (except the racing part from Episode I on sand buggies accidentally on TV) and that makes me a much better person, than anybody ever.
@FroodyFrog Same here! Seen all 3 Family Guy parodies, and the Robot Chicken stuff too (and Spaceballs of course). But the space soap opera itself? No, thanks.
Millennium Falcon
@katbyter This, exactly - nothing beats the original toy Falcon, the one they sell now is a joke.
God, those Lego Star Wars kits are ridiculously overpriced. It's insane.

@DrWorm Unrelated, but are you an actual worm? Do you live like a worm? Do you like to play the drums?
@jsh139 They may be overpriced but the NEVER depreciate. Any Star Wars Lego set that I have ever bought, still sells for the same price retail or resale.
@RobJTejas interesting. Never would have thought to resell them.
@jsh139 As far as playing the drums, I think I am getting pretty good, but I can handle criticism.
I had one of these -
Pretty sure the ex-wife took it in a box of collectibles and conveniently "lost it".
If I still had it, it'd be worth $25,000+.
FML.
I miss Boba Fett; I don't miss her.
@Pavlov
I would feel the same, i suss.
@Pavlov Looks like she did to you exactly what Boba Fett appears to be bent over for...
The Millennium Falcon
My 4 year old has amassed a decent number of star wars hotwheels.
My 40 year old has a death star perplexes that is cool.
I still have one of these in its original package.
@Mehrocco_Mole This is awesome.
@Mehrocco_Mole As a general rule, I'm opposed to anything "in its original package," but this is too awesome.
The original Trilogy on VHS widescreen.
@2many2no Are those from back in the day when Han shot first?

You are looking for the limited editions. No blu-ray, sorry.

Look for gold bars at the top and bottom, and "Limited Edition" across thetop. Pix.

Original X-Wing & Snowspeeder, imho.

@serpent I starred my own post too, because I mean it.
@serpent Please force, forgive him. He knows not what he says!
@serpent
The only versions of Star Wars I've ever seen are from when Family Guy (and one other show) created parodies.
@serpent you hipster so hard
@FroodyFrog Same here! Seen all 3 Family Guy parodies, and the Robot Chicken stuff too (and Spaceballs of course). But the space soap opera itself? No, thanks.
@Mehrocco_Mole Oh, I do know what I say. It's a shameless Dune rip-off fastfood.
@RobJTejas In my defense, I don't have an iPhone or Instagram, or any phone for that matter. So I can't be a hipster.
Tauntaun sleeping bag... And it's still available.
I think i have s Vader + R2D2 salt and pepper set. And a Death Star kitchen timer. And a Vader plushie.
But my true love is my life-size R2D2 cooler, on wheels.
@f00l
Here is a pix of one much like mine. (Not at home right now.)
It's about 4 or 4-1/2 feet tall.
Tauntaun sleeping bag FTW
Always loved the action figures.
@jml326 Uhh...
@cinoclav Yes...
Star Wars Estes rockets
@don This one makes me smile.
@don FTW!
Good to see star wars lego in the lead (by a hair), I have a significant collection that I'm building out now.
I had the R2D2 plush with squeaky, and it was easily my favorite toy.
@jaremelz Did you steal it from a dog?
@cinoclav No.....but mine did steal it from me! Early introduction to sewing. Whatever it took to keep him with me. Sniff.
B-Wing. Until the dust settled in and the cockpit stopped spinning smoothly.
The original model kits: X-Wing, Vader's TIE fighter, Slave One, Star Destroyer, and most important of all, the Millennium Falcon.
And once I was all growed up, and could afford them, the Force FX light sabers.
I liked the Hoth playset. It had little trap buttons and you could make the ice bridge thing fall down.
And does the 3PO cereal count as merchandise?
Leia / Jabba cosplay set
@ALLCAPSORNOTHIN
Pix pls
@f00l while we're waiting, #NOSOLO
I have the recalled Phantom Menace lightsaber that can melt in your hand...
