Thank you for Meh.
22As a wOOter, I was part of that site since 2008 (shorter than some, longer than others). I really the enjoyed the early "wild west" days of wOOT. I had a lot of fun. But for sooooo long it has been BORING. I love amazon and still participate at wOOT, but this site has been a - breath of fresh air - for me. It reminds me of those early days where I wanted to participate. C'mon - drone.horse - love that and now I want one - Damn you. Anyway, just wanted to says thanks to everyone at Mediocre Labs & everyone who participates here. (too sappy? I don't care).

Aww...we like you too.
@JonT It might be too early to tell. But thanks :) (that sloth is way cute - it has my claws too, though I try not to use them)
@JonT
@The_Baron There is something really disturbing about this.
@The_Baron It's like the thread pic - we don't really know what the hell is going on.
@mfladd
@The_Baron That's just wrong :) You have too many creepy sloth pics.
@mfladd The internet has too many creepy sloth pics. This was on the nicer side.
@The_Baron I think you needed this one:
@cj0e LOL...that is even worse! (probably because he looks like a ninja) I feel like am watching "The Arrow" pet version..
@mfladd actually, the full video is much less creepy, he scratches the cat on the head for like, 30 seconds. If sloths weren't already so creepy by nature it would be adorable.
@mfladd for goat next month. that'll learn ya to appreciate things!
@carl669 I must be doing a REALLY shitty job if the June goat is already discussed less than a week in. :)
@narfcake nah. i'm just making a note of it.
@carl669 What!? too early - plus I thought @narfcake might be dynasty material.
I'll be sappy too - that was so nice to read! thanks @mfladd :)
@snapster You are welcome. Nice to see you again. I must have been under a rock for awhile - because I did not even now you were here. Sorry, I missed the kickstarter campaign. But glad to be back to the "wild west".
@mfladd You should be careful when saying "west". The east coast folks might get offended.
As for a dynasty ... for shirtgoat, fine. For scapegoat, no.
@narfcake I am "east coast" which is why I hate that the West Coasters always get the deals - or should I say Texas and California - do they have a special site or something?!
@snapster just to be clear "you" means meh.com.
@mfladd It's we-have-more-people-than-all-the-other-states-so-we-will-always-buy-more-stuff-when-it-is-available.meh.com.
Yeah if it weren't for this site Christmas and birthdays would have been a lot worse these last bunch of months… My niece's 3 kids loved those $3 headlamps - my niece not so much since they were then reading books under the covers at night instead of sleeping LOL
@Kidsandliz At least they're reading?
@jqubed That's what I told my niece LOL. They were supposed to be for camping but of course kids plus flashlights of any kind = fun and games
@Kidsandliz My kids would love headlamps and do the exact same thing. It's really hard to punish them when you bust them reading late on a school night. They've got so many clip on reading lights and lanterns in their room. They adore the Coleman mini ones I've gotten on meh.
I still like both sites a lot.
Meh reminds me of early Woot and definitely has a more exciting feel to it. There's more of a chance at a really good deal, and the products tend to be wackier and cheaper.
I also really like the simple design Meh uses as I am big into minimalism. I like the idea of sticking to one item per day.
Woot is totally different from how it was when I joined a decade ago. Instead of one product per day, they sell about 100. It's not the same and it's more of just like a "what's on sale" at Amazon kind of thing. Woot stuff tends to be more expensive and you don't get any deep discounts.
But ever since Amazon took over Woot, the shipping has been INSANELY good. Sometimes you get stuff in like 2 days. I ordered something on Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday.
You're lucky to get Meh stuff within 2 weeks. But that's also part of the fun. Meh stuff is not expensive and I often forget what I ordered. It's fun seeing a box or a bag and not knowing what just arrived.
So both sites have their strong points.
@elpepe
Just kidding :)
mostly…
@elpepe I love both sites- especially the moderators. But Meh gets my money.
@elpepe 100 products? Try again. Today there are 1,809 active items on Woot (courtesy of wootstalker).
More importantly, what the hell is going on in the background image?
Is it nice or nasty? Is it friendly or mean?
@lumpthar I dunno, you tell me
@lumpthar it's funny because we had about a 15 minute conversation about this yesterday. We still don't know what's going on.
@JonT That's like the most disturbingly creepy cute picture ever. It kinda looks like she's being strangled and kinda looks like they are cuddling.
@JonT So I get the ambiguously - maybe be a loving brother, maybe a killer reading her palm life line pic - great.
@lumpthar - it's attached to a sappy poem on the website: You are, and always have been, my dream. You make me feel special , You made me see what i deserve Thank you babe...
But the funny part is the page heading: You And Meh , We Are Infinity.
@lumpthar It sorta looks like he's teaching her to sign. (It also looks like she's got 3 arms.)
The biggest drawback I've found here is, not enough pirates.
@Teripie The Pittsburgh or Ocean Going type? Ok, I am going to take a guess. Arrggghhhh!
@mfladd The sea faring type. (Or maybe the Tampa Bay type.)
@Teripie So I covered both - Sweet!
I share your sentiments. I too Woot'ed for much of this life. As of late I spend less time on the aforementioned site and more time on this here internets page.
@connorbush Ha! It seems like this was from ages ago, yet it was only a month. Internet forum time seems to work differently than actual time. I still believe it to be true.
