Tali has her legs back!
0One side of her carbon fiber landing gear was smashed and a worm servo crushed at the end of a 30 foot fall.
I received my parts today: Two carbon fiber tubes (about $6 each) and a worm servo ($18)
She's all assembled and ready to test. Took less than a second to break, about two minutes to assemble, and 2 1/2 weeks on a slow sampan from China to get here. This is not a hobby for an impatient person, innit.
If only it was this easy with all the ladies!

Unfortunately she's not ready to fly yet. She still has a broken wing (insert Martina McBride song here). I'm still waiting for a new fuselage from China. Expected in the next 1-6 weeks. LOL!
I may try to do an interim repair... maybe JB Weld or perhaps try a soldering iron weld.
In case anyone was wondering... this is what she looks like with her top off.
@ruouttaurmind Thanks for taking her top off! How about duct tape and hot glue for now?
@garyhgaryh I think I need something a bit more rigid. I'm sure with all the drones out there I'm sure I'll be able to find some info on what others have done to repair cracks.
Love the retractable landing gear!
@garyhgaryh Something easily added to your prospective project! And PLENTY of switches on that new TX to assign the function. :-)
The rest of my Tali repair parts have passed through customs in L.A. and departed L.A. this morning at 1:20am. With luck I should have them Monday.
A new fuselage to replace the cracked one. Also some G-3D gimbal repair parts and a few spare parts... just in case. :-)
I'm expecting delivery of the Groupon QR X350 Pro on Monday as well.
Next weekend I should be able to do a five drone flight video. Tali, Phantom, QR X350 Pro, Nova, and CX-20 simultaneous flight. I'll have to dig up a few friends to help supervise the flights. I don't want to have that many birds in the air at once without a few more pairs of eyes on them in case any of them decide to go Skynet on me.
Heck, I may even toss the X-1 in the air along with the crowd and make it an even half-dozen!
JB Weld and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_tape
@zippyus Not a bad idea. Maybe JB Weld inside and Speed Tape outside, then fly it like that, saving the new fuselage until the next catastrophe. With luck, I'll never need the new one... ;-)
I have to run by the post office on the way home this afternoon. Post office attempted delivery of the rest of Tali's parts yesterday afternoon. So I get to spend the evening fussin' with her bits!
Tali bits! Wahoo!
I've already installed the yaw sensor on the G-3D gimbal and it's working GREAT! Most of the other parts are to repair strictly cosmetic damage to the gimbal, plus a few spare parts. I'll probably put those away for now.
