While almost all French doors are double however, not all double doors are French doors. To be defined as a French door, a door has to have at least two panels, with one or more of those panels being glazed to allow light to pass through.
So not really French doors, but you get double of them!
@stolicat@yakkoTDI These meet your definition, which means we’re all in luck! They ARE French doors. “Glazed to allow light through” means has a window. 2 panels? Check. At least one window? Check.
@SSteve Yes, we’re looking into getting most of the (very old) house rewired. The existing stuff looks to be no newer than the 70s and some certainly from before that. Old electrical and old plumbing are best left as is unless you’re willing to go down the rabbit hole of replacing a lot more than you bargain for.
@stolicat
Same, but our toaster is a Cuisinart Convection Oven- all that happens though is that i have to trek my old azz down to the basement and reset the ground fault interrupter.
Doesn’t your house have circuit breakers or at the very least fuses?
If so, this [most likely] won’t actually burn it down, but would be a bit of an inconvenience instead of the convenience it’s supposed to be.
We LOVE our convection oven especially for refreshing baked goods [bagels, rolls, bread stored in the fridge, pizza [when I’m too lazy to get out a frying pan, etc.] and especially for oven cooking in hot weather- it’s much less of a heat load for our un-air conditioned [read- passively from the window ac until in the living room] kitchen in the summer heat.
BTW, Amazon lists it for $139.99 [stating 30% of the list price of $199.99],
Mea Culpa for the error in listing comparable pricing by Meh.
Mea Culpa also for your old house wiring issues.

Having a rotisserie spit in an oven with an inside height of 7.87" seems pretty optimistic.
I need an appliance that is bigger on the inside than the outside.
Wait… this is the same thing that Emeril is hawking on some infomercial on Sunday mornings? I’ve watched it (no sound) several times on the elliptical at the gym.
So I can’t seem to look away. All this food & me not having breakfast & all these people smiling & gasping/applauding, my stomach growling… they never seem to get to the point on how much it costs.
I guess now I know, $100! No room here at home for it. Too much stuff already. I could use a second air fryer as my wife has gone vegetarian on me (not vegan thank GOD) & demands that I not use our air fryer to cook meat. Yes, I could go buy one, but again, I’ve no idea where I would store it.
Anyone have experience with how it functions as a toaster? I bought a fairly expensive toaster oven because it toasts as fast as a standard toaster and don’t want to lose that.
@sligett
Per Goolge’s ‘AI’:
“SmartSynx Technology is a feature in PowerXL ovens that allows users to cook multiple foods simultaneously in two separate ovens. The technology ensures that both ovens finish cooking at the same time.
How it works:
Separate doors: Each oven has its own door to prevent flavor crossover
360° hot air: Both ovens use 360° hot air to cook food faster
Adjustable temperature: Users can set the temperature between 85°F and 450°F
Presets: Each oven has presets for different cooking functions, like air frying, baking, and broiling
SmartSynx button: Users can press the SmartSynx button to synchronize cooking in both ovens
Benefits: Cooks multiple foods at once, Saves time, Cooks food evenly, and Allows users to cook different foods at the same time.”
@coleman567 Some of the pictures (not the one with the chicken over an exposed coil, that’s a weird shot) shows a catchpan with a grate, which is what my Ronco has and it works well, very easy to clean up.
I have been hemming and hawing about buying a spare convection oven because our Cuisinart is getting a bit long in the tooth.
However, of late SWMBO is losing some of her tolerance for my penchant to seek redundancy in things I/we use daily- e.g., knives [pocket, belt, and kitchen], power tools, hand tools, blue tooth devices [speakers, ear buds, and headphones], go-pro clones power banks, flashlights, optics [binos, scopes, etc.] and most of everything Meh [and subsidiaries] sell frequently.
OTOH, I’m morally certain that soon after I wait too long to click buy, the current convection oven will decide to take a dirt nap.
Got a spare for when my Emeril goes out, was able to use my $10 IRK coupon. I use the oven so often I always burn the electrical heating elements out. I rather spend $100 on an air fryer every couple years then close to $1000 replacing a whole range(i replaced only the element every year 2 or 3 times once until the whole thing fried). Only really big things/pizza go in the oven to prolong life.

Has anyone had any experience trying to bake cakes, cookies or muffins in this? My full size wall oven is kaput and I have been without a home baked cake for a few years. I have tried in the toaster oven that I have already and it has not been successful. Any advice would be appreciated.
@TexterTusher No experience with this specific product, but my overall experience with baking in an air fryer has been to lower the temperature a bit, and extend the time a bit, for best results.
Got an arguably better deal than that on Best Buy’s Deal of the Day-a Ninja - Foodi 10-in-1 Smart XL Air Fry Oven, Countertop Convection Oven with Dehydrate & Reheat Capability -list for 329 got it for 129 to add to my collection of Nina products that air fry.
While I was looking at the features after getting the e-mail on the deal of the day offerings, it sold out at approx 10:40 am. Still had the page open which had the “Add it to the Cart” block so I kept clicking on it and it kept saying not available-must have done it at least 15 times during a half an hour time frame and suddenly it went through and I ordered it and it will be delivered on Thursday.

Who doesn’t love a toasted French door!
@yakkoTDI
So not really French doors, but you get double of them!
@stolicat @yakkoTDI Maybe they should call them Freedom Doors.

In a magical world where I have infinite counterspace, I would probably buy this.
It looks pretty cool, but it’s a behemoth!
This seems like something that tries to do everything but in reality doesn’t do anything well.
@tweezak Reviews on Amazon seem to disagree
@tweezak Nah it does one thing in a few mildly different ways; in the end it’s just an oven with a fan and a computer.
At 1750W, if I plugged this into my kitchen circuit my house would burn down. As it is I can’t use the microwave and toaster at the same time.
@stolicat National Electrical Code requires microwaves to have a dedicated 20-amp circuit.

@stolicat Well, technically there’s no rule that says toaster ovens have to be in the kitchen…

@brennyn @stolicat Good point, bathtub toast is delightful. Talk to your therapist first though.
@stolicat A friend of mine has to unplug his refrigerator each time he runs the microwave. His house is very old.

@mediocrebot I’d freaking buy that in a heartbeat (or two).
@mediocrebot @mehcuda67 Me too and I’d go and visit an Ood
@mediocrebot sold!
@candiedisilvio1 @mediocrebot Just gotta make sure no one turns it on air fry during your visit.

Sounds like just another marketing gimmick to me…
so what happens to all the rotisserie juices?
@coleman567 A nightmare to clean…
@coleman567 Cover the bottom pan in foil. Trust me-makes clean up a breeze.
