Tali H500, G-3D, iLook+ camera stability test
0First, many thanks to @djslack. This video was recovered with the same process he was kind enough use to recover the QR X350 Pro catastrophe video posted towards the bottom of this thread.
This video was taken about six weeks ago with my Tali H500, Walkera G-3D gimbal and iLook+ camera. The same gimbal and camera that documented X350's fateful final seconds. Skies were relatively clear and there was a 3-5 knot breeze blowing.
I've ranted a few times about how much I love the Tali and how stable she is. Smooth, fluid motion combines with solid, stable loiter to produce video that rivals other manufacturer's products that cost twice the price. Combine all that with nearly 30 minute flight times (without camera and gimbal; closer to 20 with camera and gimbal) and you've got a very high quality product at a (relatively) modest price point.
Well, the proof is in the puddin' kiddies. Have a look and decide for yourself...

That is stable and no jello (at least I didn't notice). Looks almost as good as a Zenmuse. I'm glad I got the G-3D recently.
@garyhgaryh Well, let's not discount the contribution of the Tali. LOL! Having 50% wider wingspan, 2" longer rotors... six of 'em... also has something to do with it. Compare this video the one using the same gimbal and camera mounted to the QR X350 Pro and it's like night and day.
@ruouttaurmind yeah no crash...to soon? ;)
@ruouttaurmind when u said no jello I was referring to the stability of the tali.
@DJMajickMan ouch! :)
@garyhgaryh, @DJMajickMan LMAO! What Majick doesn't know... there actually WAS a crash on that flight. LOL! I ignored the Level 1 low voltage warning and took my time coming back to land. By the time the Level 2 low voltage warning started squaking I started landing, but only had about 40 second of battery life left. Tali shut down about 20 feet off the ground. Lesson learned. :-)
@garyhgaryh "I was referring to the stability of the tali" I just rewatched that clip. Dang, the last 15 seconds or so are ROCK steady. If I didn't know, I'd think that was a crane shot.
@ruouttaurmind Remind me to never let you fly my quads if we ever meet up! lol.
@garyhgaryh Believe it or not... I don't star in ANY of these... ;-)
@ruouttaurmind We can get them to update that. I think the upside down video shot would be epic :D
@ruouttaurmind Lol. i remember seeing this. I spent a night watching drone fails cuz I think it's so funny. The look on the guys face in the opening scene is priceless. I wonder what he was flying?
@DJMajickMan My favorite is at 01:20. I've watched that clip over and over and I STILL can't figure out WTF that guy was doing when he crashed.
