TACOS! Shut up and eat.
9It’s National Taco Day 2022.
So why are you thinking about anything else?

PS
I’ve already had tacos today (see pic above)
So I’m better than you.
And I’m not finished having tacos today either.
PPS.
Fuzzy’s Tacos (some Texas locations) is worthy.

Tacos al carbon FTW. Any number of places around here will dish up good ones, and some are excellent. (Houston area.) (There’s a Torchy’s nearby; it’s okay, but there’s better to be had.) Much to my surprise, we actually had decent ones at a place in Kansas City a weekend back. That’s the first time I’ve encountered better than “forgettable” fajita outside of Texas.
@werehatrack
Yeah those are fine.
I had a bunch of fried avocado tacos. I’m stuffed.
And, since avocado, obviously it’s pure health food, right?
I’m taking a variety home for later.
I think I need to start acting like royalty.
Become more classy
Obviously I need to keep tacos in my handbag and dining with Paddington Bear.
Thanks for reminding me to buy a month pass at Taco Bell. I’ve missed it.
@sammydog01
In honor of National Taco Day, I always try to go a little upscale from TB.
Hoping you can too.
@f00l @sammydog01
yeah, but this is an opportunity to celebrate for A MONTH!
@chienfou @sammydog01
“TOO MANY TACOS” is not a possibility in this universe.
@f00l We all don’t live in taco country- I take what I can get.
@chienfou NLA in N.J. They work in a pinch. Good Mexican two towns away, but they don’t open until 4PM.

@ACraigL I already suggested to my taco loving brother-in-law that he vote for your shirt so he can buy it.
@blaineg Awe-some (take that, mediocrebot!), thanks so much!
@ACraigL Voted, in case you needed more votes.
@heartny ALWAYS! thank you!

@detailer
I think the “bears fishing for tacos” giphy is an actual official Taco Bell creation. Not certain; but it dies have a professional vibe.
@Kyeh
Perfect!
/giphy TACOS!!!
Full circle?
@blaineg
I suggest that you personally assume the responsibility of testing that hypothesis.
Report back.

@f00l Great idea, but I’ll have to postpone it a day. The fish & chips truck is in town, and SWMBO is English.
@blaineg @f00l
Fish & chips truck?! Lucky!
I’m jealous!
@blaineg @f00l @Kyeh I wish I could get decent fish & chips here at all. The few places that looked like theirs might be right all used canola in their deep fryer, making it a Stay AWAY for me.
@f00l @Kyeh @werehatrack There’s two that come around here. Fish On! seems to be Utah only. The photo on their page is their usual stop in Bountiful.
https://fishongourmet.com/
On The Hook covers 15 states, so maybe near some of you.
https://onthehookfishandchips.com/
@blaineg @f00l @werehatrack
Oh YUM!
And you’re right, On the Hook is in CO this week! I might have to try them! Do you know what it costs?
The choices for Fish On are more exciting; too bad they don’t travel. There used to be a brewpub here that served smoked salmon fish and chips that was divine! They closed, though, after having been in business quite a few years.
@f00l @Kyeh @werehatrack $15 for the fish & chips: 3 big pieces of fish, chips, tarter sauce, and spicy fry sauce. The fry sauce has been Sriracha based, but this time it had a smoky flavor.
You can get extra fish, fish only, or chips only.
@f00l @Kyeh @werehatrack Fish On’s cod & chips are very similar to On the Hook’s. Their fried salmon is very good, with a different flavor than the salmon we cook. It’s hard to describe, but maybe a bit sweet? Maybe it’s the batter.
Okay, now this is just obnoxious:

@Kyeh That’s a pretty good markup for gold leaf.
@blaineg Most of what they’re paying for is the snob appeal factor. FTS.
@blaineg @werehatrack
Of course. Bleah.
@Kyeh
Ok, get me aeneral. Fly them down here in dry ice.
@f00l aeneral? Whut?
@Kyeh
“general” was spozed to be “several”.
Evil phone sneaks in typos and autocorrects.
@f00l Hah. Well, it didn’t even do that right as it got an “a” instead of a “g.”
Oh, and uh — they’re no longer available seeing as taco day is almost over on the east coast and the restaurant is closing in 10 minutes…sorreeeeeeee!
@Kyeh
Just go back in time to order them, and ship some to me (in the future)
@f00l I’ll work on it.
So … I just had more tacos. Avocado tacos.
Tacos for breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner.
A Good Day. Tho didn’t try to work any of it off yet.
Oh well. A Very Good Day. Thank you, tacos! : )

@f00l I didn’t make it to a taco place today but this did inspire me to have some tamales I found in my freezer, and to seriously start planning to make the green chile that I’ve already bought a batch of Pueblo peppers 🌶 for!
@f00l @Kyeh I had homemade enchiladas, is that close enough?
@Kyeh @tinamarie1974
Kissing cousins, I think. : )
Heim’s only offers brisket tacos on Thursdays, so…
The Horror! The Horror!
@MarkDaSpark Show me the idiot…I have plenty of ammo.
@MarkDaSpark The truck still exists, but Tila pretty much retired after closing her restaurant. The location is now a trendy Asian place with very little seating.
I got off of my ass around 3 yesterday afternoon, headed into the kitchen and diced a tomato, cut up some lettuce, finely grated cheese and put it in the fridge.
Around 4:30, my husband cooked up some hamburger with taco seasoning, fried up the tortilla shells and we had tacos for dinner.
I shoulda worn this.
