@Kyeh Well, that’s a good thing, at least. I haven’t been keeping track because, considering the size of my giant paws, i didn’t see me having a use for this. That & the complete lack of musical talent.
“The ukulele is easier to learn than other stringed instruments”
What they don’t tell you is that this instrument attracts talentless musicians who think talking in a sing-song voice and flicking the strings in no particular rhythm means you are a musical artists.
Two artists who play with a Ukulele that was any good.
Rebecca Sugar (who composes with literally any other instrument but plays around with a ukulele) and that very fat man that sang over the rainbow.
Everyone else has committed war crimes with the Uke.
@AaronLeeJohnson@ircon96@Kyeh@macromeh
He’s an amazing artist - thanks for sharing that.
But this site has warped me forever - when I saw his name, my first thought was “Jake Fukabukuro?”
I already have a ukulele or I’d happily grab one. Nobody really needs two ukuleles. Mine’s a Donner, got it on Amazon with a gig bag, digital tuner, spare strings, picks, a strap, and access to digital lessons for like $60
Came here to ask for an explanation of the true-kulele joke. The link with dog flea treatments eludes me, though I suspect it has something to do with yelling expletives while tuning the instrument.
If you get one, make sure you open it up and verify it’s in good condition instead of hiding it away for Christmas. I received one with a neck that was splitting. Meh sent a replacement. Has anybody been playing theirs? How is it?

got one of these in a previous meh sale and enjoy it. a clip-on tuner is highly recommended.
Déjà uke.
@ircon96 Cheaper this time, though.
@Kyeh Well, that’s a good thing, at least. I haven’t been keeping track because, considering the size of my giant paws, i didn’t see me having a use for this. That & the complete lack of musical talent.
@ircon96 Giant paws? Hah!
I’m with you on the lack of musical talent, though.
@ircon96 @Kyeh I find that taking a giant pause saves me from many ill-advised meh purchases.
@ircon96 @macromeh
Wise strategy!
These taste delicious even if a bit stale and crunchy and past their expiration date. Parts can be a bit stringy.
@OnionSoup Your review has a lot of pluck and strikes a chord with me, but I fret this will lack harmony with my gut.
@j4yx0r @OnionSoup
On the list of things that I absolutely do. not. need., this is easily in the top ten. But I kinda want it anyway.

@AaronLeeJohnson His name was Israel Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole
@AaronLeeJohnson @ircon96 Jake Shimabukuro is brilliant too.
@AaronLeeJohnson @Kyeh Yes! It’s even more impressive that he’s such a virtuoso with only 4 strings to work with.
@AaronLeeJohnson @ircon96 @Kyeh
And speaking of virtuoso performances on the ukulele:
@AaronLeeJohnson @ircon96 @Kyeh @macromeh
He’s an amazing artist - thanks for sharing that.

@AaronLeeJohnson @ircon96 @macromeh @mehcuda67 Hahaha - yes, I can see why you’d jump to that.
A strong wind is a’blowin’, 'cross the land and 'cross the sea.
It’s blowin’ peace and freedom, it’s blowin’ equality.
@craigthom The wind is strong in this one.

Finally got me. Of course I ordered purple. I’ll put it in the lounge for guests to dink around with.
@mediocrebot Euwww!
@Kyeh @Pony The bot scares me sometimes.

/showme tiptoe through the tulips
@mediocrebot nope
@AaronLeeJohnson @ircon96
Now, when it comes to THIS guy, I would agree with your “war crimes” comment.
Came here to ask for an explanation of the true-kulele joke. The link with dog flea treatments eludes me, though I suspect it has something to do with yelling expletives while tuning the instrument.
@PooltoyWolf Canine fleas has to do with tuning.
Found this fun alternative while looking for a video.
@PooltoyWolf @yakkoTDI I couldn’t help but to think that he is a bit of a nut about his flea.
@yakkoTDI Ah, so a PEMDAS type thing. Not one i was personally aware of!
The cult of this site is the only thing that keeps it in business, I swear.
@admiralpoopants At least they will never ask us to drink the Flavor Aid.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flavor_Aid
@admiralpoopants @yakkoTDI Unless it’s within three weeks of expiring.
@admiralpoopants @mehcuda67 @yakkoTDI And then they’ll still want us to pay them for it first.
If I were a YouTube content creator this would be perfect for my inevitable “apology video”.

From looking over the comments I would assume that no one has come across the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain before.
I’ll wait for the bass sopranowood ukulele
@Sardinicus atta boy. Troutwood and I’m in.
You can also be like me and pay a South African luthier several hundred dollars to make you an electric uke
@krylonultraflat Sweet Moses!
I’m surprised nobody has posted this link yet. These young ladies are awesome.
VAN MURALS! GROUND SQUIRRELS! SPIT CURLS! AWESOME!
@tweezak That’s great! Now I want to watch Pulp Fiction.
“our goal is to put a fine instrument in everyone’s hand that is concert-ready yet afferdable an made of maternials it brakes ungst strin cogglers groop…”
@markkorn
Cool. A Uke. Now I can sit around composing songs for DIY shows and commercials.
Why has no one posted Folk Uke (Arlo Guthrie’s daughter Cathy and Willie Nelson’s daughter Amy)
@sdencar Ha! Even as satire that’s pretty brave.
But serious talent.
/showme strong wind blowing
Bought one for my granddaughter about 9 months ago for $ 5 more on meh. Used it one time and then never again.
@Felton10 Well, maybe she’ll pick it up again sometime.
@Kyeh Doubt it, she is a one and done type of kid-probably has ADHD like I do.
@Felton10 Yeah, but kids’ interests change so much - maybe in a few years it will seem cool to her.
