@ELUNO Exactly. If it hadn’t paused, poor @CharlieS wouldn’t even have a chance at buying the item. Matter of fact, neither would I as last night was one of the very few that I got to sleep before midnight (EST) and this is actually something I will buy. So, thanks Circuit Breaker!

@ELUNO A pause is more insulting because you know they have some to sell, but are saving the items for other people. Seeing a sold out is more your own fault.

@medz Not necessarily. Like I mentioned above, I got to sleep early for once. I saw it as they were saving an item for ME, not other people. I was grateful for the opportunity to buy it this morning. I wouldn’t have considered it ‘my fault,’ I would have simply considered it a missed opportunity if it hadn’t paused and was sold out. Life would go on either way, but it goes on a bit happier knowing I could make the purchase.

Davis Frost can be astonishing, esp the Nixon interviews. To me that Stones segment would play better in the present. if he had appeared a bit more willingly in on the joke. I mean, other than sucking up, who wants to cut from the Stones enjoying a huge public fart to “And now, 'ears Prince Charles”?

@ELUNO I’m not interested in reason or real life justice today. I refuse to accept a shrugging “you shoulda been quicker”. It’s frustrating and the world agrees with me. You do too, deep down. I’m not negotiating with meh. Hand over the t shirt or the VMP gets it. It’s what your parents would say is the right thing to do. I’m a large. Maybe a medium.

@mre9 if they sold out three minutes after the unpause, there’s an exactly zero percent chance you world have gotten one at 6:30 in a pause-free world.

@mre9 It’s perfectly clear that you aren’t interested in reason. You make two quite unreasonable points.

First, if there were no pause, you couldn’t have been late to the party twice today. You would have woken up at 6:30 with zero more chances to buy the deal of the day.

Second, threats to cancel VMP are no threats at all. All you’re threatening to do is pay shipping for each order and probably not buy cheap stuff. And not be taunted into another disappointment when you aren’t here at 4:00.

@apLundell not necessary. You are saying the purchase rate will be steady through the entire night. Sales before the circuit breaker show sales spikes at midnight and around the time people are getting up in the morning. So, if more stock if available at midnight, it might last longer into the early morning.

@medz I get what you’re saying, but that doesn’t help this poster out IMO. This guy is west coast (maybe mountain) as 6:30 for him is at least 8:30 eastern. So his acceptable human hour isn’t early morning to the site.

Upon further thought, this begs the question why @mre9 couldn’t buy stuff at the also acceptable normal human hours of 9 or even 10pm. He sends to be creating something to gripe about.
