I wanna buy this for the writeup alone, but I got carried away when the “Jetz Scrubz Scrubber Sponges” were for sale. Also I got some of the “Scrub-It Eraser Magic Cleaning Sponges”, and I’m not allowed to get any more sponges, in case they hit critical mass and form some kind of sponge vortex. Which, according to the writeup, may have already happened at Meh HQ.
TL;DR: Great writeup but I have too many sponges too.
I tried to get carried away with those but my order was cancelled even though they kept selling the sponges multiple times afterwards at a higher price.
@yeppers I would buy the Jetz Scrubz Scrubber Sponges over and over! I started bringing them into work and the bright red color hasn’t faded one bit after months of use nor has the sponge begun to disintegrate like these Scrub-it sponges which I suspect are prime contenders for delamination.
@haydesigner Except where the water’s so filthy that the sponges are dead or gone, like the entire outfall region for the Mississippi, which regularly goes anaerobic for anywhere from 3500 to 6000 square miles (or more) of the Gulf in the summer. In a few million years, that bottom slime will be getting close to becoming crude oil. For now, the Gulf commercial fishermen just know to stay away from it.
IIRC, fucking sponges were smaller and came preloaded with a spermicide. That hasn’t been a significant concern for me in longer than I choose to admit.
I’m still on my first two ‘forever sponges’ sold here a while ago. They are thrown in the dishwasher every other day and continue to look almost perfect.
I thought I accidentally cut one of them while hand washing a sharp knife and I swear it somehow magically repaired itself the next day, lol! I’m sure that didn’t happen, but I have never had a sponge illicit such positive emotions towards it.
(Also…I bought the microfiber car sponges from here last month and they seem decent. Haven’t used them to wash a car, but they feel like they might do a good job. I plan on using them more for house cleaning than auto cleaning)
Eh, the traditional method is using a hard-hat suit that gets its air feed from a compressor in the boat above them, but whatevs. Also, those sponges look more like sponge cake.

@yeppers all true. Not allowed. I just now asked & she said “no, we already have enough sponges”. When has that ever stopped me before?

YAY!! More CHEETOS Sponges!!
Our seas are getting dirtier and dirtier as we use the sponges to make ourselves feel cleaner.
Bah, the oceans are full of sponges themselves, so they’re completely clean.

@mediocrebot That could have been soooo much more interesting.

Something went terribly wrong. Please try again.
Weird how the single word of “a” suddenly makes it verboten.

Whut.
Why are you selling cleaning supplies on Mother’s Day? I’m offended
/giphy bern scores a burn
@bern20 Right! This should have been posted at least a week ago so they’d get here on time! Lol

I’m still working through my supply of these:
@lljk I missed that sale and bought overpriced ones from Amazon. Still worth it.
Product descriptions increasingly and more pathetically screaming for relevance is pretty meh.
@obxer You were expecting Pulitzer material?
(You realize that now we’re going to see a writeup in which they riff on how pathetic it is that they end up screaming for relevance…)
