I thought this was only for California so I didn't pay much attention. Then for some reason 10 minutes ago I clicked the link, put in my location, and it said it would be visible for 4 minutes RIGHT NOW. I jumped up so fast I startled the wife and went outside and saw it! Perfect timing. Thanks for the heads up.
Was able to see it at 7:40 pm here in Phoenix. People back east probably think I'm crazy but it's 44 degrees out and I about froze my ass off. Actually going below freezing tonight. Yuck.
We use Simple Satellite Tracking from Space Weather. http://spaceweather.com/flybys/ It lists most satellites flying over and how visible they are. Goes by zip code. I've seen the ISS many, many times, but the coolest was a couple years ago when it shared the sky with the Space Shuttle. That was totally awesome!
@Teripie I got video of that! It's really crappy video, but I got it. We didn't realize at first why there were two objects flying in tandem, then we figured out what was happening. Sadly, the video is really awful.
@Headly Beautiful night for stargazing. It's 51° here right now (San Diego county). I remember when we first walked on the moon...what a long way we've come.
@Headly I graduated from high school in 72. My dad was stationed at Edwards Air Force base. Boy, how I would have loved seeing the space shuttles landing there.
(But for real, that is neat. We have a 2min window today and 6min tomorrow.)
@The_Baron I'd wear that watch.
I use ISS Detector Pro to warn me when there is a good sighting coming up.

@lisaviolet Here's the live stream camera on the ISS. It's pretty amazing. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/iss-hdev-payload
@Teripie Wow. Nice. Thank you.
Just saw it again - we have excellent viewing conditions - the air is super clear and no humidity. Was super bright

@lisaviolet I'm still waiting for moon base alpha... I was in Florida in 71. But I don't remember it's I was only 3
