26CUT MY HAIR!
I’ve been thinking about it for a while.
It’s so bouncy! It’s so short!
No more needing to braid it or put it in a knot so it doesn’t tangle during sleep. No more trying to sleep on the band that holds the braid or on the lump that is the knot. No more pulling long hairs out of my pants! No more dragging hair on the floor when I feed the cats! I can play with it! I can curl it if I want to (curl did not hold in long hair).
And, if there’s some reason I end up in the hospital (I AM old…), my hair won’t be such a pain in the ass to work with.
It’s been decades and I just wanted to share!
I’m married to my stylist, by the way.

Looks nice.
What are you doing with what you cut off? There has to be a lot of it. While some of the children’s wig places don’t use gray or white hair, they do sell it to places that do. Typically they need around 8" to accept it.
@Kidsandliz I’d looked up donating in the past and most of what I read said that the new synthetic wigs are so much better than they used to be and less expensive to make, that they don’t need donations like they used to.
I was so tired of it.

Mine hasn’t been cut in over a year and needs it, but I don’t know anyone who could do as nice a job as your hubby did on yours. Not doing it in a pandemic unless I have a face to face job interview.
@Kidsandliz Crea clip. That’s how he gets it so even. The crea clip has a level bubble in the center.
@lisaviolet Hmm so you have to hold your head perfectly straight then. I tend to tilt my head slightly. I’d have to watch it if that was used. That is a clever idea though with respect to trying to keep it even.
@Kidsandliz @lisaviolet I trim the back of my wife’s (shoulder-length) hair - I just eyeball it. She’s happy with the results. HWHL

@djslack @lisaviolet I’ve had hair that long on more than once occasion and it feels just so odd initially without the weight of all that hair. The part I don’t like about shorter hair is all of it doesn’t stay behind one’s shoulder with you drink out of a drinking fountain or otherwise bend forward if you are eating something. Other than that there are some convenience factors of shorter. I see you left it long enough though that you can still tie it back if need be.

@Felton10 I had one that said grandma also and it is the tee shirt that I get the most comments on. I do have one Tee shirt that lists George Carlin’s 1,000 or so words that you should never say on TV. Words are so small you can’t read them unless you are standing right close to me. Was getting physical therapy once and was wearing that shirt and the physical therapist was standing right in back of me to steady me and keep me from falling. Well she could and did read quite a number of the words on the back of the shirt and made a comment about it.
