Pebble didn't keep it's charge long enough. Had to charge it every 2-3 days. But it was very nice to read notifications from the wrist than the phone. Didn't miss phone calls that I sometimes miss without it. Still, the charging issue ultimately caused me to dump it.
Mehni-rant: Strapping a phone or tiny tablet to your wrist does not make it a watch. It just makes you look like a dork with your phone strapped to your wrist. Calling it a "smart watch" does not, in fact, make it appear less dorky to anyone except the wearer.
@katylava I was programming computers in the mid-60s, so I have nothing against dorks (having been one most of my life), or electronic toys. I just think that trying to make is sound 'cool" by calling it a " smart watch" is silly.
@rockblossom Would you rather it be called electronic wrist accessory, old fart? It's a watch in that it goes on your wrist and it tells time, except this time it's running a smartphone OS -- so smartwatch.
@rockblossom To someone who curled up around PDP-11s back in the day, all things smaller than that may look identical, but a smartwatch is neither a phone nor a tablet; it's just a screen. Dork levels aside (these are arguably the calculator watches of the '10s), those of us who get it (and I'm not much younger than you) enjoy being able to continue a conversation, whether in a meeting or at a bar, and just glance at our watch to see what the notification was. None of which applies to today's sale, of course, but again, not all of these things are identical.
@rockblossom Oh dude, I totally agree that smartwatches are a complete joke in the state they are now, but I mean come on, it's still just as much a watch as any other shitty Casio.
@peas Well, peas - my TV, stove, microwave, radio, and truck dashboard all have little windows that show the time. Should I call all of them "smart clocks"? (Oh, and {pausing to double-check body parts} I'm not a Dude.)
I was a Pebble Kickstarter backer and have been wearing it since February 2013. Still a big fan and am looking forward to Apple's rumored smart watch announcement on Tuesday.
@billchase2: (I read this somewhere): Started reading the latest Apple announcement on a cool state of the art MacBook Pro, and finished reading it on my depressingly obsolete MacBook Pro.

@stienman My Pebble only requires charging about once a week, if that. Are/Were you using it a lot throughout the day?
@stienman Same here. I just went back to mine after trying the LG G watch for a couple of months because of the battery.
@stienman Yeah, I only charge mine about once a week too. Did you use a high-refresh watchface (like one with a second hand)?

@rockblossom I'd be happy to be a dork who gets shit done! Who's on top of life! Who has a new toy!

@rockblossom Depends, are they running a smartphone OS?
