I have used a handful so far and have loved the delegation aspect. So far my favorite is a mix mop and vacuum and am very appreciative of not having to deal with mopping and also enjoying the more frequent mopping action. Biggest thing is Roomba has the patent on double roller so their product is supposed to be better for carpet. Samsung makes a solid alternative but prior to this new release model had to empty often. Same for Roomba. Shark has a lot of mixed reviews but the house mapping feature is handy.
@Cerridwyn haven’t used the new I series from Roomba, but wanted to get the i3 with the auto empty. Price was more than I wanted to spend so I picked up the Shark VacMop and loving it for the same price. Not using it on carpet. So if using it on carpet even the cheaper Roomba is actually pretty solid quality. Check out robot wars on YouTube for some research.

favorite so far price wise has been Shark. Had a decent bit of issues with Samsung powerbots so avoid them is my suggestion. Would have gotten a Roomba if had carpet as main focus.
I got a Deebot 601 in an IRK a year or so ago. We have a dog who sheds a lot, and the robot is able to keep up quite well. We empty the dustbin after every cleaning cycle.
Over the last 18 or so years, I have owned a couple of Roombas, a Neato, a Deebot (hated it), and now an ILIFE. They all vary, but there are two important things to realize:
None of the will fully replace you needing to vacuum at least once in awhile. (But they do tremendously cut down how often you do it. Plus, they can sometimes get places you can’t.)
Only Neato is an actual vacuum. The rest are just sweepers. (Caveat: this may have changed in the last 5-10 years, as I don’t consider myself current on the tech anymore.)
@haydesigner I love my Neato and am on my second one. I have a lot of dogs and find it is wonderful for picking up the hair. I just purchased a mop/vacuum combo bot haven’t used it yet. I think it’s a Eufy.
It’ll depend a lot on your house and your furniture. My house has small rooms, and the biggest (the dining room) is full of a table and chairs. I found it was as much work to clear the room so a robot could vacuum it as it was to vacuum it myself. I have friends with more open space who are happier with them.
@chienfou posted this review, which inspired me to get one in the last Mehrathon; I haven’t received it yet so don’t know how it will work on my carpet.

I love my Roomba, I think 900 series? I got it for Christmas a couple years back and it’s pretty much one of the best gifts ever.
