Mine hit the porch at about the same time, and to no one’s presumed surprise, it contained much the same.
A MacBook case, a Cleveland wallpop (do they have one for each person left in Cleveland?), seven Casery ring-thingies, a box of half a dozen carded pairs of low-output car chargers, and way more pink paint than needed. Oh, and a beige IRK bag.

Is meh just too sensitive and can’t bring themselves to discard this JUNK themselves?? Do they get a kick out of sending it to customers and snicker with glee imagining their disappointment when they realize they were ZONKED?? Perhaps meh could donate this CRAP and get a sizeable tax write-off and end this charade of what used to be a fun event. (rant over).

Oh I am regretting this. I bought the IRK in the middle of the night on Friday and thought I had until Sunday night to buy other stuff. I was wrong. I didn’t buy anything else. I was sick to my stomach when I saw the it had ended Saturday night. This is gonna suck.

@rcwbbb Nope will not ship to you even if you pay the postage. That one is my best purr bucket lap cat. Someone dumped her on campus with broken teeth and bone chips loose in her jaw from being abused. Took her about 2 years to believe I wouldn’t abuse her when petting from the front of her head or tripping over her.

@werehatrack That orange thing is whom I originally called my backyard bird feeder dinner bait kitty. He was a stray who hung out by the bird feeder someone in this apartment complex had looking for bird or squirrel dinner. I snagged him at about 10ish mo old. He was not feral, just dumped. He has no meow which makes him a quiet cat but he makes up for it in other ways - for example chewing the lightening end of phone cables and working hard to get at them.
In future irks (attention @extramedium - yeah ok so I know these things are random but irrational hope is still hope
) I need a lot of those!!! as it gets expensive. He can, for example, open the bed side table drawer where I used to keep them (that took about 6 mo of effort and the drawer is pretty scratched). Now I have them on a shelf and he can’t quite reach them but I am sure that he will figure that out eventually. Meanwhile any time I accidently forget to stash the cord there that is the cord death knell.
@rcwbbb Yeah meh really needs to think through the not sending cats in irks decision. I mean seriously look at how they send a cat toy each time.
I am so happy that it was $99. Instant “nope.” Has anyone gotten anything funny (like the mercatalyst people read your comments and send you packing tape) or a pallet, like actual freight dropped off in front of your house on a forklift. Ya know… what an IRK used to could’ve been That is way too many in a row without a “win” for me to continue this shit.

They may be getting rid of more crap with their new IRK policy but they are losing way more followers and credibility with the way they do things now.
@Felton10 Someone posted they shuttered their brick and mortar so I’d imagine much of what we are seeing is from that and no room in the warehouse so they have tons to dump. And tons of the same thing as we are finding out.
@Kidsandliz I always look at what people get around the same time I get mine and it looks like they send out lots of the same things on the same day. With me it was a box of flower planters which me and others got around the same time and so far it looks like the heat lamp was their product of choice for the first IRKs send out.
@Felton10 That is likely because they have a pile of one item they throw in the boxes until they run out and then go on to the next item. One time I, and several of us got 100% smashed and broken things labeled non-working (were returns). That was a bummer. At the time I suggested that they spread the broken stuff over more people. I got mocked out for that suggestion.
@Felton10 @Kidsandliz I suspect the loss of the B&M has something to do with the upward frequency bump as well, though trying to drive sales of better product by making it a rather pricier tie-in has likely reduced the effectiveness of both halves of the campaign. (If I’m right about that, we can probably expect another 'Thon in the coming 30 days, with yet another gimmick to try to maximize the balance between shoveling the IRKs out the door and grabbing some tie-in sales in the process.)
@Kidsandliz @werehatrack What ever their new policy is, it is working or they would have discontinued it by now. The seem to alternate an IRK for a minimal amount if you purchase other items with an IRK with no purchase requirement at a preset price. I am sure they are trying to figure out what is the max they can charge for the IRK at the preset price and still sell out all of them.

See, that is what happens when you have VC money, and you can make the investors see stuff in the meetings like: we signed up 45 new members with this stint! Ignoring the long-time complaints, and the inevitable demise. So long as that quarter looks good, in whatever metric they sell, they win. So yea, they are continuing it for now, but there is no way sending absolute trash without chance of a win is a viable long-term strategy. But that is old-school business knowledge. Fuck if I know anymore.
@KNmeh7 At present, since they haven’t used the same “policy” twice in succession, I don’t think they can be said to have one firmly in place. When it no longer changes with every iteration, we’ll know that they’ve got one settled. Until then, this is the experimentation phase, and we’re the lab rats.

@jml326 At one time, Meh tended to have listings for “art kits” containing small canvases, some brushes, and a big pile of random and mostly fugly bottles of craft paint. I guess they ran out of the canvas sets.

That’s pretty much wat I got.
This is the second time I’ve received something bigger/nicer, and the first time was a shredder that did not work. So, I had some trepidation.
The small stuff: 4 more phone ring grip/stands (to add to the 25 I got in the last IRK), 4 Trackrs, 2 packs of car chargers, tan bag.
The major? A clearly opened and returned Cuisinart food processor that I was worried about (see paragraph 1), but plugging it in revealed that it runs, so that’s probably the best score I’ve gotten in one of these.
Same as the others. Useless crap from the dollar store. Definitely worth less than $25. It’s my first IRK. And my last. I thought it would be at least of paid value.

My irk was bad. Really, really bad. I’ve never been this disappointed, Definitely with less than $20 and nothing even giftable. A box of cigarette lighter charger (no one uses those anymore), the Cleveland wallpaper and 6 phone rings (I got 4 exactly the same in the last one ). Some of you were smart. Not me. I need to learn.

I LOVE using my ring on my phone and on my smallest tablet! It’s super comfortable holding my devices with it. After I first bought one 5 years ago my cats vet gave them out for free with their info on it and now, just like most of you guys, I’ll never have to buy one again!
