@medz I don’t think it will “work” as in be motorized, but it might fit? On my upright refurb Shark Navigator, the brush that came with it spins because of the air moving through it.
@medz No. It has to plug directly into the base (can’t use the extension flex hose thingy with the brush head either because no extra socket for the electricity to connect to the brush). It spins due to electricity.
@Kidsandliz Go here: https://www.sharkclean.com/parts/0/all/1331/mini-motorized-brush/
Then click the “Works with these models” link. I see some uprights there.
The reason I ask is I want a new Shark upright, but the cheap ones do not come with the motorized brush. I would maybe like to add the brush on and get a “free” handvac. This meh priced handvac with the brush is the same price as the brush alone!
@medz Well if the hose has an extra thingy for the metal piece to plug into to get the electricity then I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I am not at home to take a photo of what the plug in side looks like.
@Kidsandliz I think it’s probably the “lift-away” ones that it will work with. As shown here:
I gave meh a hard time because they sold one of the lift-aways where the pictures showed the motorized brush, but it wasn’t actually included. I wish I would have bought the $110 shark from here: https://meh.com/forum/topics/shark-rotator-powered-lift-away-vacuum-refurbished-1
Then I could purchase this unit for $44 and I’d get two vacuums for $154 with a motorized pet hair brush that would work on either.
So complicated, though…
@therealjrn Yup. Bought one of the red ones when Mediocre Labs hawked them a while ago. Great for stairs and cars and places where the upright is a hassle, and for when I actually need one of yesterday’s breathalyzers.
@therealjrn It has increased my standing in the eyes of my wife as it has made it much easier for me to clean up a lot of stuff like pet hair in the house.
@therealjrn I’m actually considering getting a second one because the first is so freaking awesome. I have a rug that collects my corgi’s fur and it cleans it so well!
@radi0j0hn The Dyson V8 runs for 40 minutes on a charge. Do you know how much you can vacuum in 40 minutes? Plus, you know… it’s cordless so you can take it anywhere. Smh
@thechinglish Yeah, you have a point. Mine was $38 and a slightly different, older model. I’d be tempted to get a back-up unit. But for the $16, I think I don’t need one, and might not be that excited for this deal today if I didn’t already have one.
I like the one I got last time. Only wish it had a long rigid tube instead of the useless flex hose. But then I guess that’s why it’s not a stick vacation right? Could I make one with some speaker wire and a wrapping paper tube? Maybe…
@stilesja I’d look at things like how strong the unit is where said rigid tube would mount. Putting a long lever arm (ie: rigid tube) on it is a lot more likely to lead to failure than force from a flexible hose. If that mounting point breaks then you will need to go buy a roll of duct tape.
OK for a portable vac. Works well for cleaning up stray cat litter. But spent 5 minutes vacuuming up inside my car, and got frustrated having to go over larger things (yes, my car was dirty) 3 times. Grabbed my large wet/dry vac in the garage and everything sucked up much faster. So it’s better than a cordless one, but not as good as a fullsize. Which means it may not be good enough at all.
Long time no comment. But I vowed, since I got a Shark Steam mop in a Fuku, as well as a 6 year owner of a Lift Away pro, that I’ll vouch for Shark. Buy this. It’s a very good deal. I would be buying it if I hadn’t just bought the Dyson battery handheld for half off. Sheraton stuff is SOLID. My vacuum still runs awesome. No real heavy maintenance at all.
I too have the other model of this, my only gripe is that there isn’t really any built in storage for the accessories or an easy way to hang the vac itself, so they all just live in a pile on top of my fridge.
This is perfect for hard and soft surfaces in a room. I’ll used it on the steps. It’s much better than lugging my upright vacuum up the incline. Cleans dog hair off of pillows with the upholstery brush very well! A solid buy to supplement your sucking lifestyle.
I bought the cheaper one last time as well and I am very happy with it. Can anyone tell what the difference between my purchase (standard model) and this “Pro” version?
My 5 month old lab puppy is growing into her adult coat and is dropping dog hair like a two year old Christmas tree on a mechanical bull (dropping dog hair). This is a must impulse buy.

Meh, who vacuums anyway?
Does the brush with with upright shark vacuums?
@medz Are you off your Medz?
@medz I don’t think it will “work” as in be motorized, but it might fit? On my upright refurb Shark Navigator, the brush that came with it spins because of the air moving through it.
@therealjrn we had an old shark with the same type you describe. I thought the new ones had a powered pet attachment.
@medz No. It has to plug directly into the base (can’t use the extension flex hose thingy with the brush head either because no extra socket for the electricity to connect to the brush). It spins due to electricity.

@medz Of course the other solution is vacuum the pet… Certainly the lift away one would be more convenient.
@Kidsandliz My mum had a deaf cat who loved to be vacuumed. RIP, Frank.
This sucks
Hungarian Vizsla
Look at that face! Now who could make cremains out of that face?
I bought a similar unit last time.
IT IS AWESOME.
@therealjrn me too, I love mine. One of the best vacs I’ve owned
@therealjrn So did I, very happy with it so far, handy for quick cleaning when I don’t want to use my big vacuum cleaner.
@therealjrn Yup. Bought one of the red ones when Mediocre Labs hawked them a while ago. Great for stairs and cars and places where the upright is a hassle, and for when I actually need one of yesterday’s breathalyzers.
@therealjrn great for getting pet hair off furniture quickly with the powered brush attachment. I don’t even mind that its corded because MOAR POWER
@therealjrn Ditto! It has been absolutely worth it with how well it clears off pet hair. It works perfectly on my furniture, stairs and cat tree.
Probably better than those idiotic Dysons that barely run 10 minutes on a charge.
@radi0j0hn The Dyson V8 runs for 40 minutes on a charge. Do you know how much you can vacuum in 40 minutes? Plus, you know… it’s cordless so you can take it anywhere. Smh
I want to cut the cord.
@hchavers No you don’t. This corded version will sucky sucky, love you long time.
If anything, today has given me the gift of knowing what a Hungarian Visla is, but the dissatisfaction of not yet gazing upon a Hungarian vista
@truestalpaca, I hope this brings you the peace and contentment you desire.

$16 off for a refurb as opposed to a new?
@thechinglish Yeah, you have a point. Mine was $38 and a slightly different, older model. I’d be tempted to get a back-up unit. But for the $16, I think I don’t need one, and might not be that excited for this deal today if I didn’t already have one.
@dave must be testing the pricing model.
@thechinglish I’m not sure which new model you’re seeing. The $60 price on Amazon is for a refurbished model.
I already got one
I like the one I got last time. Only wish it had a long rigid tube instead of the useless flex hose. But then I guess that’s why it’s not a stick vacation right? Could I make one with some speaker wire and a wrapping paper tube? Maybe…
@stilesja I sure would agree with you there about wishing the hose was rigid.

How much do you people vacuum your hands? Where the fark have they been to require a dedicated device of impressive suckitude?
@mike808 Babies, just, babies
@mike808
I bought a similar one the last time. It’s awesome, really great for doing stairs.
Long time no comment. But I vowed, since I got a Shark Steam mop in a Fuku, as well as a 6 year owner of a Lift Away pro, that I’ll vouch for Shark. Buy this. It’s a very good deal. Got the cheaper, not so fancy version last time and it is the best hand held vacuum ever! If you have kids, get this!
@Furbdog How do you get them to stand still so you can vacuum them?
I too have the other model of this, my only gripe is that there isn’t really any built in storage for the accessories or an easy way to hang the vac itself, so they all just live in a pile on top of my fridge.
@jaypeeh I bought an in expensive bag to keep the accessories in place…but an onboard holder would be very fine.
@jaypeeh you could put all the accessories in a fuko bag… just sayin’
WHAT? WHERE’S THE LOVE FOR DIESEL?

@kggoodman Googling it - scroll down part way and it tells the difference

When I saw the title, I thought you guys were selling bidets again…
Why are so many people coming here from a document about prescription drugs?
Shark Rocket sounds awesome. Great name for a band.
