How good are these? I have a SHARK stick vacuum and it needs to be unloaded pretty much every few minutes because of how tiny it is. Thinking about upgrading.
Just purchased a similar refurbished model from Woot at a similar price, so I won’t be needing this one. Mine does not have the digital display, whatever the heck that’s for. Also has a removable battery. Im pleased with my cordless stick vac, as well as my full sized Shark.
I was looking at these (stick vaccums) during labor day sales and didn’t pull the trigger because the IRS kindly asked me to volunteer towards that pesky national debt.
I think this is a price I can afford with the pittance they left me to live on. I will consult my Magic 8 ball and come back later
I Love my Sharks!!! It’s almost embarrassing how much Dog fur and dander they pick up. Told my Mom my Dogs should be bald by now. If I buy this, people will say I have a sucking issue…LOL. I have a lift away that must have been an early edition, because it doesn’t lift away. A stick, and a small Rocket…I need to hang up and drive so I don’t buy this. Sharks are the Bomb!
@mediocrebot nice job and suitably terrifying
When I was just a tween my brother took me to see Jaws which caused deep psychological terror of sharks so I will stick with my Dyson
@Kyeh@sillyheathen Yuck! 8" of snow and mid-20’s here. Supposed to drop into the teens tonight, which is fairly extreme for here. My poor PNW-raised daughter must be freezing down there!
@macromeh@sillyheathen Yes ! But it’s supposed to be in the 50s over the weekend, so she’ll be able to thaw out. On the plus side, our snowpack levels are really good!
@Kyeh@sillyheathen She’s actually coming here to visit next weekend. Looks like the weather forecast for then is pretty similar (but not extreme) for both places.
@coleman567 A desk fan at the end of an extended garden hose could outperform that overpriced wall-hanging of a Dyson. So far, I haven’t been disappointed by the other Shark vacuum I have.
@calicojack42@coleman567 I like all of the above. Dyson uses the same hardness of nylon in their brushes as the material in seat belts. Those beater bars will wear down your carpet faster… I have been nothing but impressed with the Sharks that replaced my Dyson’s and don’t have to worry about any carpet damage. Self cleaning brushes? Hell yes… Bye bye Dyson.
@coleman567@tru335
The only thing my Dyson was ever good at was picking up debris and moving it to other places. The brush head was nice, but that thing had next to zero suction. Maybe I got a bad unit, but it put me off for good. My shark corded upright though hasn’t let me down yet, and it’s been 5 years with it.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@calicojack42 Fair enough. I had a refurbished V3 for the better part of a decade, only needed to replace the battery once during that time. Purchased a refurbished V8 last year and am impressed with how much more it picks up, especially from the carpets…but @tru335 pointed out that it might be better at shaving than cleaning.
Gone through a few handheld (dust buster) types, and the batteries are for shit,18 moths tops, and those were new units, I doubt these come with a new battery, so NO.
@tru335 I used to have the Dyson cordless. I got it for a promotional price but I was shocked at how terrible it was and how quickly it broke into a billionty pieces. It was just awful. I can’t imagine how angry I would be if I’d paid full price! Total rubbish.
@sillyheathen@tru335 I had a similar experience with a corded Dyson. Too many rigid, brittle plastic parts. Made it hard to fit into tight spaces and ultimately broke making it useless.
We’ve had much better luck with the Shark that replaced it.
I like Shark, but man, so much Dyson hate in here!
I have a Shark AZ1002 and a Dyson V15, and it’s no contest; The V15, even with it’s slightly-lower-on-paper suction power, obviously pulls in significantly more crud than the Shark. It’s slightly more difficult to vacuum our two ridiculously high pile area rugs with the Dyson, but that’s because the carpet head on the Dyson actually gets down into those rugs. I have a 7’ circular rug that I can vacuum with the Shark until it stops picking anything up, then go over it with the Dyson and pick up another full cup of dust and cat hair.
I’m very confident that this cordless vacuum that Shark doesn’t appear to publish suction power stats for anywhere doesn’t have as much suction power as my giant plug-in Shark, so I’d expect the gap to be even greater. This also has a brushroll design that works really well on hard floors and doesn’t bind up on carpet, but also doesn’t do a good job of getting deep into carpet fibers. It’s a great deal, and at this price likely does come out ahead of most Dyson models on price/performance ratio, but if you’re looking for pure performance, I wouldn’t expect this to even be in the same league.
Any idea how long the battery lasts in this? I made the mistake of buying a bunch of iRobot floor suckers years ago only to find out the batteries die after six months and cost as much as a new unit to replace.
Has anyone found replacement pre-motor filters for this? When I search shark’s site, the ones they show me are definitely not the same, and Amazon doesn’t have any result at all for “IZ531H filter”

OH GOD!!! IT IS SHARKNADO!!!
If the pics are from your actual inventory, when are we going to see the jousting armor up for sale?
Edit… And how are you going to ship the horse? Asking for a friend. Please don’t tell me you’ll send it by drone
@jaybird in pieces, jaybird. In pieces.

Been needing a cordless stick vac for the new RV! Looks like this’ll do!

@PHRoG I bought a different cordless Shark a few months back, it worked great in the RV, now it’s being moved to the RV permanently.
@wifeduck yeah, I have two corded sharks (upstairs and downstairs) and I love em.
Just got the RV a few months ago and the broom isn’t cutting it! lol
Hopefully these new cordless things aren’t terrible!
I always pictured the Shark Tank to be bigger than that. How small must Mr. Wonderful and Mark Cuban be to fit in there.

@onae
/8ball Should onae suck up to this deal?
Without a doubt
A Shark, with Power Fins?
Was it genetically engineered for that or was that just some good old-fashioned evolution / natural selection?
@phendrick Yes.

Do these come with boxes ? to gift and make it look new? Or are parts just thrown in a box ?
/showme A Shark vacuum vacuuming up a shark
@mediocrebot Good job! Although the shark looks like it’s going to be attacking the Shark and not the reverse.
@Kyeh @mediocrebot okay that made me proper laugh out loud. Thanks friend. I needed that today!
@sillyheathen Happy to have done something worthwhile today. It’s a measly 4 degrees outside right now!

Been waiting to replace my crappy Dyson.

@calicojack42 …with a Shark?

@calicojack42 @coleman567 ya, Shark is better
@coleman567 A desk fan at the end of an extended garden hose could outperform that overpriced wall-hanging of a Dyson. So far, I haven’t been disappointed by the other Shark vacuum I have.
@calicojack42 @tru335 I guess if you like best bang for your buck as opposed to features and power.

The roller on my Dyson is constantly packed with long hair and threads from the daily cleaning of my sewing room.

Giving it a try. Hopefully I won’t regret getting a refurb.
Threw the corded Dyson away a while back. Love Shark. Now throwing the cordless Dyson away.
