Buy a Miele C1 for $300 that uses bags (buy cheap disposable knock-offs on Amazon).
It’s a “Buy It For Life” vacuum cleaner.
It’s not upright and it’s not bagless, but I’ll be damned, I don’t have to buy a new vacuum once every year or two like I used to and the thing really “sucks”.
@robthedude05 My Kenmore canister bought back in the 90s probably fits that title too. At the very least, it’s definitely outlived my local Sears stores.
@robthedude05 Shopvacs are also a good option. They have a washable filter and just keep on working, and only cost like $80 for a good one. Less good if you need all the brush attachments and stuff (you can 3D print an adapter!) but for a sane modern house with no carpets it’s great.
@robthedude05 Miele makes uprights too. Miele vacuums also are so quiet my dogs don’t usually bark at them like they do every other thing that I do that makes noise in the house (other vacuums, coffee grinder, blender, trumpet, etc.)
@robthedude05 I got a C2 from Costco. Would you say the C1 is preferable? Apparently some are also made in China now which I didn’t realize and company is making it hard to repair. So I kinda got fooled.
Can anyone, from experience, tell me if this no bristle roller is better than a traditional bristle roller for pet hair on carpet? Never owned or used this type. Thanks.
@laurengx3 90 days is the warranty from Meh.com. You can ask Support if there is also a manufacturer’s warranty. If there is, it’s probably longer. On rare occasions, items sold here are orphans disowned by their makers or some such, without factory support. I don’t think that applies here, but I am not an authority and cannot state whether that is the case. That’s what Support is for.
When I bought a Dutch oven from Meh and tried to get the manufacture warranty to cover because the paint came off the handle but after Meh’s 30 days, the manufacturer said because I got it from MEh the manufacture warranty won’t cover to cover because I got it from Meh.
So it may not be covered under the shark warranty

@yakkoTDI …cleans so deep, dear…
@ircon96 @yakkoTDI
… and it leaves things pearly white.
@ircon96 @Kyeh @yakkoTDI
…Look out the Apex is back
This is a nice vacuum. I have the 5 year older model as my primary and I’m happy with it.
This is $150 (renewed) on Amazon
@dgmoney And this is new.
Yeesh. When offered on Meh, they should change the model name from Apex to Echo, considering how many times these things pop up here!
It’s not just a vacuum, it’s the Apex Shark.
Here’s a hot tip.

It’s worth the investment.

@robthedude05 My strategy for making my cheapo bagless upright last for nearly 10 years is to barely ever use it.
@robthedude05 I got a C2 from Costco. Would you say the C1 is preferable? Apparently some are also made in China now which I didn’t realize and company is making it hard to repair. So I kinda got fooled.
@qazxto @robthedude05 A C2 is a C1 with more attachments, but they’re essentially the same vacuum. The C3 is the heavy duty model.
And once again, Meh saves me a bundle by selling something I really don’t want!
@werehatrack
Thankfully that’s pre-tax money so you won’t owe extra on it…
Surprised no one else has already pointed out that it’s $300 off, not $400. Can I buy 1 and sue for the extra $100 because of false advertising?
@divddsky I came here to say the same. Well, not about getting one for free for false advertising, just to point out the bad math.
@divddsky @ronnyd While I did ace math, I’ll take the blame for this! Been a while since my school days
Don’t sue us, okay?
Can anyone, from experience, tell me if this no bristle roller is better than a traditional bristle roller for pet hair on carpet? Never owned or used this type. Thanks.
@detailer I can say it’s great for guinea pig hair and hay on the floor (which has to be finer than cat or dog hair).
@armerius Thank you.
@detailer it still has a normal bristle brush behind the roller
Anyone know… Is this new? If so why only a 90 day warranty? Would this vacuum be eligible for a square trade or similar extended plan?

@laurengx3 Warranty is 5 years http://m.sharkclean.us/warranty/5-year-limited-warranty/
How much does one of these weigh? My current vacuum cleaner works fine, but it’s really heavy. And loud. Is this style any quieter?
@lisagd
Amazon says it weighs 20.1 pounds

@patbarrett1 Your Dutch ovens make paint peel? That’s quite an accomplishment!
Hey Matt Rutledge. You’re not the octopus for breakfast anymore. You’re the guy ordering it.

Do I have to pay and be a member for 5.99 per month? I am wondering if Shark will actually honor warranty ? Is Meh reputable?
