Let’s say our server hamster falls off the wheel and you can’t hang out here for a while. What’s your go-to? (Are there even other websites still? Haven’t checked in a while.)
@haydesigner Ours has a designated group for political discussions called the “Free Speech” group and the mods are pretty diligent about restricting anything that’s nonlocal. But there’s still endless pissing and moaning about how everything wrong with the city is due to the lefties.
@medz Oh, I didn’t think of news - but that’s in second place for me after Meh! Of course this week is skewed because of the birthday festivities, probably.
google.com probably ranks first because of search, news, and gmail. sorry mediocre/mercatalyst
after that it is probably whatever web based game is holding my short term interest these days. Not working anymore gives me way to much free time and I refuse farsebook on principle
Obviously Sidedeal.com
@OnionSoup
/giphy suck up
@sammydog01 well my third favourite website would be whydoimakesuchbadchoicesonline.com
@OnionSoup the only right answer
Pastadrop.com of course
@ComputerMD82
/showme rest in peace
@haydesigner
/showme rest in pasta
I’m on Nextdoor fairly often but I wouldn’t call it a favorite. It can be useful but also really annoying. Glitchy and full of ads and rants.
@Kyeh shakes fist at unauthorized youths passing through
Republicans in my area have made our Nextdoor completely unusable.

I’m actually a mod on my Nextdoor, @Kyeh, so I also get to see the truly vile posts and comments that get flagged or reported.
I truly don’t understand how conservatives got so damn hateful… about everything.
@haydesigner Ditto
@haydesigner @lisaviolet Same.
Canon Creative Park
@lisaviolet cool, not doing more work today then
@jouest It’s a for sure rabbit hole.
I’m partial to the moving toys. The automata (sounds nasty, doesn’t it?) projects.
One I really want to make is the leaping goat. I downloaded it years ago, but never made it.
Some I have made:
They are all mechanical.
news.google.com actually appears before meh in my list of frequently visited sites! I must love it!
@medz Oh, I didn’t think of news - but that’s in second place for me after Meh! Of course this week is skewed because of the birthday festivities, probably.
@medz I get my news reading between the lines on comments around here. it’s how I know everything is fine and there’s no need to worry.
Daring Fireball
Fark
My.Yahoo.com to check my email.
@chienfou AskJeeves in shambles right now

Ventusky
That’s actually really cool, @howdylewis
@howdylewis just had to also say damn that’s cool. I mean, it’s hot here, but it’s neat.
Failbook still gets some of my attention. Most of the time I spend looking at a screen is reading kindle books.

Why would you go anywhere else?
