@Felton10@IndifferentDude Guys, there’s a time and a place for this. Tonight, agree or disagree with her views, let’s just respect an individual who served in the way she thought best.
I don’t know I’ve ever cheered on a public figure so much in her battle against cancer. I really thought she was going to make it. Stunning loss for our country.
This sadness feels like I’ve lost a caring friend. Trying to watch the coverage about her life is painful. She was an incredible woman who lived an incredible life; minus battling all the illnesses for years. Then here I am feeling guilty for my selfishness because she’s no longer here. May she rest peacefully.
@Enigma What she taught some as she dealt with cancer though was that cancer should not, and does not, define who you are. Cancer is what you have. Who you are is what you do with your life. And what she did was incredible.
@Yoda_Daenerys not this particular thread. You missed some extremely awful shit that has since been removed. Don’t need it brought back in.
I’d suggest creating a separate thread about what this means and what will/should happen with the opening statement requesting people be civil and not call names. If you want to discuss it. I doubt they will play nice but I can hope
tell you this though…
she was one tough lady in what she believed in.
with the fortitude and strong will to stand up for what she believed in through age and so many sickness and i admired her strength and determination even though i did not agree with some of her decisions.
she had a will of steel… i wish her peace.
CNN is re-showing the “RBG” documentary this weekend - we caught the showing of it this evening, it’s a great film about a great woman’s life and you may tear up at the end. Schedule for other showings:
The film will also be available via CNN on demand via cable and satellite subscriptions beginning Sunday, Sept. 20, and for streaming via CNNgo platforms, beginning Sunday, Sept. 20, from Sunday, Sept. 20 until Saturday, Sept. 26.
@stolicat If CNN really cared, they wouldn’t require you to pay for cable just to watch it. I’m sure it is quite good, but not good enough to go back to cable.
@stolicat FTFY:
Just posted it in case someone with paid CNN wanted to allow them to watch it.
News is not a profit center (CNN, NYT, WaPo) or entertainment (Fox “News”), to be held hostage for payment, directly by readers or indirectly by advertisers.
Just because we do not have a solution does not mean there is not a problem.
She was an amazing human being and perhaps the most influential woman in the history of this country.
I disagreed with some of her decisions and her ideas on the role of the Supreme Court. However, I greatly respect the spirit of this woman, her incredible resilience in the face of diversity and most of all, her grace and kindness toward the other Justices, even those on the opposite spectrum of her beliefs. Despite her scathing legal opinions, she was apparently good friends with Antonin Scalia, and among other things shared a love of opera with him. Imagine two great Americans on the extreme opposite sides of the political spectrum being kind and respectful toward each other.
Today the New York Times linked to this article they had published in 2016. “Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s Advice for Living”. It is worth a read regardless of your political leanings.
So. Very. Sad.
Rest in Peace.
Although I disagreed with many of her rulings, my prayers & best wishes for her family.
This is devastating.
This is so incredibly sad. She was an amazing woman with no peer. A huge loss for this country.
Very much a loss
And a blood bath is coming
“She led an amazing life. What else can you say? She was an amazing woman—whether you agreed or not—she was an amazing woman who led an amazing life.”
“I’m actually sad to hear that. I am sad to hear that,” said the president.
@Felton10 @IndifferentDude enough with the fucking kindergarten politics. Can we just be respectful of a life lost you assholes!!!
@tinamarie1974 Direct that toward Indifferent Dick. I know I should ignore idiots like him but I can’t.
@Felton10 it takes two and we should choose our battles.

Thank you @onlyonetruth. Well said
Sadness. : (
REMEMBER MERRICK GARLAND!!!
@Felton10 Also… not the time or place.
m. mcconnell: “what mcconnell rule?”.
. . . I got a bad feeling about this ==>fgmd
Please get back on course. And don’t be idiots. Act like adults.
A supreme court justice died. A person died. It’s worth remembering.
All the politics BS can wait for another day.
/image my apologies to those I’ve offended.
@IndifferentDude
You could have just silently whispered to the mods to remove your post instead of the public display of faux virtue signaling.
@mike808 Thanks!
@IndifferentDude @mike808 could have also done those three steps or at least thought through them.

@Yoda_Daenerys politics is toxic. Not the place to bring it up.
@unksol really? where is the place to bring it up? only when you are with like minded people, me thinks. but yea, i was just stirring the shit…
@Yoda_Daenerys Have some respect. Not the time or place.
@cinoclav ok, thanks

i admired her, too sad…
she was 87 years old she can’t live forever.
to me she was not a constitutional justice.

@mike808 @stolicat The previous post was about a documentary, not news.
