Dang it, meh! We get it, with all the different Bluetooth speakers, repeated earbuds, and that random karaoke machine, we know you love music the most. But maybe sell something cheap and perishable that’s not food and/or everybody needs or will use eventually? I don’t need mounds of gadgets or weird stuff that I’ll ultimately regret that I bought half asleep at 3am and I’m not trying to get fat. Like I don’t know, super cheap trash bags to throw away all our regrettable purchases? Or some melatonin so I can sleep better at night instead of throwing away my money? I kid, but seriously.
@Ziggie Pass i’ve had issues with mine not charging one of the two and them, one of them refusing to connect with the other resulting in sound in just one ear, not a fannnn
I’ve had problems with these in the past charging, and connecting, especially when in a gym with a thousand other devices all competing for the air waves, the sound is kinda garbage on them too, I’d pass on these but then again i own a pair hated them and looked up something worthwhile Advanced model 3s
I have a pair from last time they were on sale. I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I actually like them. As soon as you get the hang of how to pair them both individually and together there’s not a single issue I’ve had yet. Plus it doubles as a power bank.
@gimpyestrada I had that same problem, this helped: When two Rowkin earbuds are stereo paired, the left channel (primary) earbud connects with your phone (device) as well as right channel (secondary) earbud for stereo sound. If only the right earbud is experiencing a sound or connection problem, try rotating the right earbud by 90 degrees or so. This help line up the internal antenna between the two earbuds, prompting a better connection.
The antenna strips are located just under the Rowkin logo on the outer end of the earbud. To enhance stereo performance, make sure the left and right earbuds’ antennas are aligned parallel to each other. You can also orient the placement of the earbuds before inserting them into your ears, or rotate one of them until the stereo music stabilizes.
If the rotation or alignment does not improve this connection, please try the reset procedure with both earbuds, and then try the Stereo Pairing again.
@Joedetroit I can’t keep them in my ear either. The middle part is simply too big to fit in my ear, so they sit on the bottom of my earlobe. They can just barely hook on the outside of the rim, but even with that they tend to fall out after a few minutes.
The thing I hate most about them is how when the sound stops the buds reduce the volume to 0 and then slowly ramp it back up after a couple of seconds. So if you have a momentary hiccup the effect is dragged out for way too long. They’re also useless for notification sounds unless you’re actively listening to something, because the sound will be finished playing before the volume is high enough for you to hear it.
@jandrese I’ve had that behavior with other bluetooth things… (ex: echo dot connected to bluetooth speaker, I won’t hear the first word in Alexa’s response or phone using bluetooth to my car stereo, won’t play a short “ding” notification) I wonder if it’s a power saving “feature” where it doesn’t transmit until it detects there should be sound.
I got some last time, and I’d say they’re worth it. True, keeping both earbuds connected while my phone is in my pocket is difficult at best, but I find myself mainly using one at a time. Music is frowned upon at work, so the ability to just have one in while I sit at my desk is worth the cost of admission.
Bought these last time they were sold here. They connected good, and they stay in my ears astonishingly well for how tiny they are even while jogging. HOWEVER, if I turn my head to the left it loses connection. Just seems quite finicky keeping both connected while moving around. Also if you get a notification it will continue to mute the audio and ping in your ear every 30 seconds or so, until you check it. Couldn’t find a way to turn that off, that’s incredibly annoying. You can probably find similarly priced earbuds on sale that are better than these. Bought an Anker pair as well for $40 that are all around better EXCEPT they fall out of my ears easily.
I bought these last time and I can confidently say, the losing signal thing is real and something you cannot fix no matter how you orient the bud. The problem is mitigated if you can somewhat reduce the distance from the source, as in, put your phone in a chest pocket. Therefore, if you want these for running, jogging, or even walking…don’t bother. That being said, they’re perfectly fine for driving, working at your desk or any other activity where you’re stationary.
They’re durable as I have dropped my bud a few times from standing height and they bounced around and worked fine. I thought they’d be cool for using in the shower, but any sort of moisture will have these buggers slipping out of your ear. That would likely mean they’d be poor for exercise, but I am lazy so I don’t so…YMMV.
All in all, I like these. If I couldn’t use one at a time and swap them, they’d be worthless with their 3 hour battery life. However, swapping makes it, basically, infinite. Between my Sony wh-1000xm2 headphones for inside and these for outside, I haven’t touched my LG tones for weeks now. Are they even charged? Hm, I should check that.
I bought these a woot or two ago. Not good enough to be for music (very hollow sound) but I am glad to have them for listening to podcasts etc in bed as the magnetic case makes it very convenient to stick in the side of my bed stand to always have a arm- reach away.
@Shelleeb they don’t have the aac codec (despite having AAC in the model number smh) support so they will be bluetooth mangled on iphone, but will work.
One of my fake earbuds fell and broke open, revealing how I badly overpaid ($25) for them. I thought to myself, I wish Meh would sell some decent earbuds that are good for working out.
Then I saw these!
Then I saw the reviews!
Then I said, “No thank you!”
I own these. They are HUGE in my ears. Can be painful after a short while. I only use them for running as there is no way they’ll fall out because they are so snug in my normal size ear hole.
@dontstaylong You’re right. I hadn’t reviewed this one before it went out but I wasn’t happy to see it. I’ll bring this up so we can do better in the future.
@medz It’s really not cool to police other people’s words. There are legitimate trigger warnings on the internet but acting like this is untouchable is asinine.
@grimblegromble agreed. I’m probably considered a liberal and I’m very empathetic, but finding offense in an email subject line is pretty silly.
“Don’t open this email if you’re allergic to emails!”
“How dare you! My cousin is allergic to bee stings!”
I can’t believe the write-up left out everyone’s favorite podcast: Sod Pave America. Follows the travels of two obsessive lawn-care specialists, who won’t rest until every sidewalk and roadway, from sea to shining sea, is densely carpeted in green.
@InFrom The lawn-care industry is such a horrible use of resources other than maybe aeration. Golf courses are even worse. The number of pesticides used to kill insects that feed on grass, which only provides subjective aesthetic beauty, is destroying populations of ALL insects. Insects have a very important function and are a large part of the food web. /rant
Still nothing. It’s had a week’s vacation in PA.
I’m in VA and I can drive to PA and back in 5 or 6 hours. At what point is this thing listed as “We lost it”?

I haven’t even bought these yet and I’ve already lost the right earpiece
@nolrak It’ll probably show up in someone’s next I.R.K.
@nolrak i actually bought 2 pairs cause i already lost first one
Again?
@aspira At least it’s not t-shirts
These are crunchy, but soften up nicely in milk.
@shahnm refrigerated milk or room temperature?
@nolrak Who even has room for milk in the refrigerator anymore, what with all the batteries…?
Talk/Music Time: 3 Hours
Music Time: up to 2 hours
Talk Time: up to 3 hours
Uhhh… OK
@bruhaha it’s the new new math
@bruhaha “Up to” is the catch-all.
Hell, they could say “Up to 237 hours” and if you never quiiiiiite reach that, it’s not THEIR fault.
Fuck you. Holy Diver is a good song.
@RiotDemon
My sister wants some LOUD Bluetooth headphones. Light weight, gym style. Anybody have a good recommendation?
@spectra242 probably almost anything but these
@spectra242 yeah pass on these look up Advanced model 3s 80 bucks and such good sound quality
@spectra242 go ahead and buy her a hearing aid while you’re at it
well, at least these are GMO free
I own these. If you’re listening to podcasts, it sounds fine. Battery life is about what you’d expect, but there is a handy charging case.
For music, it sounds like listening to a fart squeezed through a coffee straw. Make of that what you will.
@cajunbob “best review ever”
the newer model that uses qi wireless charging or usb-c for the base looks about 1000x more convenient.
Get these and you’ll wish that Meh would have offered these instead…

I own three pair of wireless earbuds. In every instance, the charging case stops holding a charge after about 4 uses.
Are these any different?
@Ziggie Pass i’ve had issues with mine not charging one of the two and them, one of them refusing to connect with the other resulting in sound in just one ear, not a fannnn
@LucidRaven sounds swell. Thanks for the feedback.
@Ziggie I have been using these daily for 2 months. No charging issues.
I’ve had problems with these in the past charging, and connecting, especially when in a gym with a thousand other devices all competing for the air waves, the sound is kinda garbage on them too, I’d pass on these but then again i own a pair hated them and looked up something worthwhile Advanced model 3s
In the days of specialized devices, Meh sells a true Renaissance thingy. So, what does it do well?
I have a pair from last time they were on sale. I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I actually like them. As soon as you get the hang of how to pair them both individually and together there’s not a single issue I’ve had yet. Plus it doubles as a power bank.
@MartianOnMars are you sure your good luck with them isn’t due to the thin atmosphere and light gravity where you live?
@MartianOnMars pairing individually? Explain please
@uninflammable you don’t have to use both of them at once. You can just pair one and keep your other ear free
@RedOak hard to say. But I will say getting things to ship here takes forever
I bought these before, they mostly suck. Always losing sync and dropping.

Why do they keep pushing these…they are absolute CRAPOLA.
@k9mckaig They probably overbought.
These look like they will fall outa my ears. A lot.
@Joedetroit surprisingly no. Well, my ears at least. Will they stay connected whilst in your ear? Now that’s a different story.
@Joedetroit Not so much for me, unless there is moisture.
It must be my ears.
@Joedetroit I can’t keep them in my ear either. The middle part is simply too big to fit in my ear, so they sit on the bottom of my earlobe. They can just barely hook on the outside of the rim, but even with that they tend to fall out after a few minutes.

@SpiritualGorila This is exactly what happens to mine as well. Random disconnects even when the phone is in my pocket.
Worst. Confirmation. Number. Ever.

I’m not keen on the ear buds, but that podcast write-up is top notch!

Do they work with Iphones?
@Shelleeb yes
@Shelleeb they don’t have the aac codec (despite having AAC in the model number smh) support so they will be bluetooth mangled on iphone, but will work.

@dave The copy you guys turn out is always stellar, but everybody has an off-day. Appreciate the response.
@dontstaylong Triggered by a trigger warning joke warning you might be triggered by an email containing email? That’s ironically funny, right there.
You know something is likely to be funny when someone is offended.
@medz It’s really not cool to police other people’s words. There are legitimate trigger warnings on the internet but acting like this is untouchable is asinine.

Bought these for my dad to wear while working out. He has a big head and they disconnect when he has both in but they work on me.
ok. problems with fit, sound and disconnects. better if you use other holes?
