The sellers who recycle ASINs on Amazon to also recycle positive ratings are detestable and should be shunned.
@RiotDemon Not at all. That’s like saying every square is a rectangle but not every rectangle is a square. 15+ may only get you 16 hours which would really piss me off if I expected 17+ hours out of it.
Why do the specs not include the “find your earbud” feature that’s listed on the amazon description? Do these not have it? That’s a huge selling point. I’m making my kids rich paying them to find my stupid ear buds.
I have a previous version of Rowkin wireless earbuds and they are terrible. They are constantly constantly losing connection, both to each other and to my phone. It got to the point where I could no longer use them.
@nomin01 Absolutely true! Everyone was talking about adjusting it this way and that…none of it worked. I just accepted the fact if I was going to move (walk or shift in my chair), it was going to cut out once every 5 to 10 seconds…unless I put my phone in my breast pocket if I was wearing such a shirt that day. Unlike you, I just accepted my spotty audio fate until I lost a bud and opted for another set.
One Meh.com badass mothersucka on the forums suggested the SoundPEATS for around $20 if you buy them on eBay that’s fulfilled by Amazon. Around $29 if you just buy it on Amazon. They’re WAY better. More base. Sorta better sound. They snuggly nestle into your ear (it never falls out of my ear. The Rowkins constantly would if I was eating, brushing my teeth, or was slightly wet/sweaty). They auto turn on and connect when you pull them from the charger (the rowkins had to be powered on by holding the button for 3 seconds). They have almost seamless double and single bud use transitions (the rowkins required manual connecting and sometimes “forgetting” and reconnecting the device). No disconnects whatsoever. However, the Rowkins were waterproof, but that didn’t matter for me because they’d slip out with any increase in moisture.
Here is the Link if interested.
I tried to find that forum to thank that meh.com user, but was too lazy to search more than 30 seconds and gave up.
@troy How is the fit compared to the early versions sold on Meh? I found the last pair of Rowkins I bought to be pretty big and kinda hurt to use for very long no matter which bud size I used. Seems the size of the speaker was the problem. Are these similar in size?
@goldnectar Ha, that is exactly what I did. I bought the SoundPEATS from Amazon for 29 and they have been great. I do not have a single complaint about them. They fit snuggly, have great sound isolation, connect seamlessly, and work great. I totally endorse the SoundPEATS.
@nomin01 I forgot to mention the SoundPEATS are also louder. The Rowkins at max were just ok. The SoundPEATS were so loud at max level that they were slightly uncomfortable.
Motorcycle Riders FYI, using both of the SoundPEATS buds under the helmet is a little dangerous as the they block out sound pretty well. With my modular helmet on, I could barely hear my cruiser’s engine in idle. That’s a little unsafe in my opinion. I’d recommend using only one bud at a time while riding.
@RedHot The bud is similar in size, but the difference is the slight angle of the eartip which makes for a far better fit. These also come with rubber rings for a more secure fit, but I find them to be more comfortable without the rings and they stay in very well for me.
@nomin01 I also recommend the SoundPEATS truly wireless ear buds. (Actually their whole line up seems to be great, I’ve gotten several magnet bluetooth earbuds and the truly wireless ones and have been pleased with price and quality every time.)
Tried to buy them but kept getting the ridiculous red box saying something was wrong even tho I had green check marks on each subject field. Of course there was no way to get rid of the red message so I logged in 4 times trying even trying the other model. That’s enough, I’m done!
so last week I bought the 3 pack of Bluetooth connectors for wired ear phones to make wireless…and now you want me to buy true wireless?..uh…no. You killed your own sale MEH…
Well? I will try giving these as a gift. To someone who wants truly wireless earbuds… I’m keeping my fingers crossed! Reviews seem to be good. Hopefully they’re great for listening to podcasts? If the audio demand isn’t too great?
@steelopus That’s because CNET Cheapskate columnist Rick Broida touted this deal on his e-letter today, claiming they were really good. He finds some great deals (sometimes), but is not too discriminating about quality…
I’m so excited to use this earbuds, unfortunately the other piece is not working, no sound coming from the piece, the other piece has static sounds, not a good earbuds I emailed Rowkin no answer yet.
Mine didn’t come with the usb-c cable. Thank the gods for Prime next-day delivery.
I haven’t read the link provided (I will), but . . .
The pad charges multiple other devices (my phone, some other buds), but doesn’t seem to work with the buds case.
I can’t get any other Qi charger to charge the case; they all give me an error condition (like, they know they should be charging, but they’re not).
The apparent charger pad design seems weak; no real indication of charging on the base (either red or blue; and blue could mean nothing or that it’s charging).
I was able to just plug the cable directly into the case and it charged, which, okay, but that’s not the functionality promised.
The buds don’t easily snap into a position that fits within the case.
Mine arrived! It’s been about an hour, and the call I was on seemed clear, but the person on the end may not have been so fortunate and kept asking me to repeat myself. (I suspect this was him, not me.)
Is there a way to control volume on these?
And is the Qi pad supposed to charge the case as @romey050500 asked? I wasn’t expect that, but it would be awfully convenient.
If you close the case and set it face down on the pad, it changes from a blue (white?) light to a red light, so I suspect that it does charge the case. Neat!
@LexPendragon Also, it took me hours to figure out that the R and the L to indicate which side is which is on the metal parts just under that rubber ring. You can see the L on the one on the side of this picture.
Further thing I learned, the USB-C cord plugged into a USB-C port on a laptop will not charge the thing, you needed it to go in to the USB Adapter for it to charge.
Also, anyone know why it’ll pair to a Linux system, but not have any sound? I have other Bluetooth headphones that work just fine, but these act like they are working, just … silence.
@LexPendragon Red seems to indicate an error. When I use the pad to charge my phone, the light is blue when it’s working. I’m not 100% sure, but I do feel 95% sure.
Also, when I charge directly (with a cable plugged into the case), lights on the case indicate charging. I can’t get any no such indication no matter how much I fiddle with positioning. I can easily get that red light though, so, uh, I got that going for me.
Still fiddling here (when I have time). Let us know if you sort anything else out.
I actually tried to use the PowerBattery part of it yesterday when driving a moving truck for a friend. It was fully charged (all four lights) when I started, and I thought it was working as it started out charging, and my phone went up about 2% or 3% when I hooked it up, and then opened Google Maps for my two hour drive…
The phone screen stayed on, which it does when it’s plugged into a charging cord, but after an hour I noticed the battery had been dropping like a stone (as one expects if the screen is left on and Maps is running,) and later when the Rowkin was plugged back in to recharge it started out at one light. Apparently it does everything except hold a charge in the battery.
(For those worried about the move, it went well and my phone died after we arrived and had begun unpacking.)
I got mine yesterday and I’ve played around with them a little.
Things I like:
Wireless charging is cool.
The earbuds are fairly comfortable with the weird silicone ring removed.
They’re probably the best-sounding Bluetooth earbuds I’ve owned. Since I’ve never paid more than $40 for Bluetooth earbuds, YMMV.
Things I don’t like:
No volume control on the earbuds (although I don’t know where they would put one)
They don’t get very loud. I have to crank up my phone volume almost all the way to get to a decent level.
The touch controls are wretched. They work maybe half the time.
Overall I’m glad I bought these, but I’m also glad I didn’t pay $130 for them.
@NullPointer I doubt anyone is still reading this thread, but I swapped the earbuds tips with a pair from my old earbuds, and that helped with both comfort and volume. I may pick up a pair of memory foam tips for these at some point.
@Bandrik Thanks! The memory foam tips helped some, although I had to cut them down a bit to get the earbuds to fit in the charging case. Unfortunately, it still wasn’t enough to make up for the lack of volume, which is kind of a deal-breaker at the gym. I ended up buying a pair of Creative Outlier Air buds, which are superior to the Rowkins in pretty much every respect.
So now the case isn’t plugged in or resting on a pad, but three of the lights are lit and one keeps blinking. I shook it a little to try to make it stop (since that’s supposed to make it start indicating its charge status), but it just keeps going. Almost 24 hours now.
I received my earbuds… they are quite spectacular. The bass is literally the cleanest bass I’ve gotten out of a pair of wireless earbuds, including ones on a band and TW. That said, the case charging was a little odd getting used to as the positioning needs to be just so.
The thing that I’m wondering is my right earbud discharges much faster than my left, assuming it’s because that’s the ‘master’ bud. I emailed support because I don’t recall if these came with any sort of warranty or support being refurbished, but I’m happy with my purchase so far.
@gorillabiscuit I emailed Rowkin about a potential warranty issue, and they told me to contact Meh.
How’s the volume on your earbuds? I have to turn mine almost all the way up to reach a decent volume, and I’m wondering if they might be defective, or if it’s just an inherent disadvantage to using such tiny drivers.
Pretty sure I’ve been scammed. Ordered this on May 3rd…they said it shipped on May 8th…tracking says USPS is waiting for it to arrive…has been saying that since May 8th…it is now May 17th
@therealjrn Still nothing, no response from support other than the canned - thank you for your email BS. No update to tracking. The item is obviously lost

@jrobinson1055 Sometimes the USPS tracking doesn’t update like the newlogistics does…but in this case…yep. Looks like your shipment is a goner. I’ve had a shipment get lost like that and they made good on it. I also recently made a warranty claim on something and they sent me a new item.
I guess it will depend on whether or not they still have any of these. But I’m 100% sure they will make good, one way or another
@jrobinson1055 Right, I could tell. I received a package the other day that USPS still shows as “waiting” on it while the Newlogistics tracking shows it as delivered (it was, if fact, delivered) That’s why I offered the link, it’s more up-to-date.
Anyway, customer service around here works M-F 9-5 so if you got the automated email, you are in queue.
FWIW: we got ours on Saturday, May 11. Pretty sure the USB-C cable does not work, as it will not charge the case directly, or on the pad itself. I used an adapter and a different USB cable and I was able to get the pad to light up, and charge a phone on it. Was not able to get the case to charge wirelessly though.
Was able to charge the case by plugging that same adapter/cable directly into the wall and once it was charged, the ear buds sounded great. Getting the buds back in the case in the right position is a little fiddly, but with time I think it will be all right?
I wrote to Meh to see if they’ll replace the cable. Maybe with a reliable setup, we can get the wireless charging to work on the case?
These were absolute crap. I first charged them for about 6-8 hours. The small lights on each earbud came one when I placed them in the case. The provided USB-C cable was used to charge the case. After powering on and pairing I started streaming my music. After about 5 seconds they begin to malfunction. First the sound from the left drops out, then after about 2 seconds the sound returns and then the sound drops from the right bud. This goes back and force and never seems to rectify itself. I should have read the Amazon reviews first as it seems other people have experienced the same thing. junk…junk…junk.
Received my Ascent Charge Micro earbuds on May 11. Tried them a few days later and they worked for a few hours. Tried them again the next day and the left earbud was dead. I have submitted the contact form twice and have not yet heard from Meh. Will try Cheapskate if I don’t hear soon.
@Thumperchick I replied with all requested info and received a response from Rowkin that Meh handles all support for this item. However, when I tried for a third time to submit the Meh form, I got this error:
This page isn’t working meh.com is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500
Not charging!!!
I used my Rowkin Ascent Micro earbuds for about a week and a half - liked them a lot - but now I can’t get them to charge. The app shows the right earbud at 22% (constantly telling me “low battery”) and left earbud is around 50%. I’ve tried pulling in the case direct to my laptop via USB-C charging cable and using the USB adaptor, both to my computer and multiple wall outlets. Nothing. The lights on the case don’t change (I read the full user manual via the app) and nothing changes when it’s plugged in for awhile. Help!?!
These aren’t very good. The sound keeps dropping out when walking with my phone in my pocket. Also, the charging case looses charge when just sitting for a few days.

And now for something new…
Shit I already lost one.
@shahnm Oh come on! - it’s not like it’s a 10mm socket.
HOT POCKETS
@shahnm they have an app for that.
@mediocrebot Bad bot. There was no pop.
@narfcake @shahnm truly funny…
Why do these just have a rip off beats by Dre logo
@vinuash Was coming to say the same thing. You know it’s kwality when a company uses that sort of trust-inspiring move.
/giphy kwality vs quality
@vinuash They can then charge 70% more for them, because the gullible and the clueless find that deeply appealing.
So it’s unusable to the 0%-ers still on a Windows Phone.
@narfcake What is a… windows… phone…? Is it, like, a phone?
@narfcake A Windows phone? I have some new technology for you. It’s a little black box that lets you type a message to other people. And get this. If they have one too, they can type a message back. I know its really gonna be big, just lime your Windows phone will be, one day.
@narfcake Isn’t that almost always the case with Windows phone though? You can still use these without the app.
@troy My phone
hashad a trade-in value of “up to $0.47”. Sure, the Bluetooth will connect, but it’s not worth trying if they will be fully functional without an app.The play time always kills these for me.

30% 1-star reviews on the Charge+…
@CatsAreGods While that is above my 20% 1 star threshold when considering buying a product on Amzn, FWIW, I own 2 Rowkins (from Meh) and I’ve never had the probs other people have. And I just bought today’s, because I think I have a problem.
And more importantly, I like your username.

You do indeed have a high tolerance for pain.
@CatsAreGods @gregormehndel @RedOak A high percentage of negative reviews won’t automatically turn me away from an item. It does mean I’ll look much more in depth about the issues others had, though, and if such issues reflected are now countered by a lower price.
@CatsAreGods @gregormehndel @narfcake @RedOak Even better, the other ones have a D rating on Fakespot for their already iffy 3 1/2 stars total…
@CatsAreGods @gregormehndel @narfcake @RedOak Yeah, there are an awful lot of idiots that do not know how to read a manual or even product specs.

Psst, hey Bud. Wanna buy some bluetooth or get a charge? I Meh a guy.
Are the previous owners’ ear wax included free?
@UFGatorHawk Are you looking at that as a feature or a bug?
@UFGatorHawk Bonus…
@shahnm The latter, literally and figuratively.
I’m totally deaf in my right ear. Can I get an earbud for my left ear for half off?
@Mehrocco_Mole no but you can get a 2 for 1 deal.
@Mehrocco_Mole What?
@Mehrocco_Mole just think of it as a two for one deal, which it really is.
Make up your mind.
@cinoclav technically 17+ and 15+ could be the same thing.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@cinoclav @RiotDemon More or less…
@cinoclav It also says “wait is that a typo”
@cinoclav it says 15+ hours on the 'zon, so I changed the picture. And then I found it says 14+ hours here: https://www.rowkin.com/product-comparison
Meh, too much work for tonight.
@RiotDemon Not at all. That’s like saying every square is a rectangle but not every rectangle is a square. 15+ may only get you 16 hours which would really piss me off if I expected 17+ hours out of it.
@cinoclav I guess I should of added a /sarcasm to the end of that. I had put in a message to meh and I see that @Troy got back to you.

Huh? What did you say? I can’t hear you!
Refurbished???
What’s next, refurbished Q-tips?
I’m still mourning the unfortunate watery grave of my left AirPod. This isn’t enough to keep me from getting the second-gen AirPods.

@admiralpoopants Refurbished, I trust?
What do I do with the $20 earbuds I just bought a couple weeks ago from you ?

@kalma they do have the locator feature!
We listed it in the featured points on the front page and in the 2nd image:
We’re adding it to the specs here, so we can make sure it’s seen.

Sooooo…I got this Rowkin Bit Charge from meh a while back. Now it’s missing a bud. Anyone interested? Anyone got a spare bud?
Getting too lazy and not liking attention units on batteries depleting. Totally wired.
Refubished things that you stick in your ears… Umm no thanks… Cringe
@wisman999 For the record, the case is refurbished, the earbuds are not. That’s what I read, anyway.

@NullPointer I’m going through the thread days later. Your tip is actually pretty awesome, so thanks for that! I might just do that myself.
LEGOS! EGGOS! STRATEGO! AWESOME!
@NullPointer Ah I see, bummer. At least you have these as a backup on more quiet places.
So now the case isn’t plugged in or resting on a pad, but three of the lights are lit and one keeps blinking. I shook it a little to try to make it stop (since that’s supposed to make it start indicating its charge status), but it just keeps going. Almost 24 hours now.
/giphy something’s not right
I received my earbuds… they are quite spectacular.
@NullPointer my volume is actually pretty on point. I contacted Meh and will see what they say, thanks for the insight.
@gorillabiscuit Apparently “Meh warranty” = “pay return shipping and we’ll give you a refund”.
Pretty sure I’ve been scammed. Ordered this on May 3rd…they said it shipped on May 8th…tracking says USPS is waiting for it to arrive…has been saying that since May 8th…it is now May 17th
@jrobinson1055 I doubt you’ve “scammed” any more that the next mehtizen. Try putting your tracking number in at this link: http://tracking.newgistics.com/ and while you are waiting, why don’t you try and write into customer service here? https://meh.com/support
@therealjrn Still nothing, no response from support other than the canned - thank you for your email BS. No update to tracking. The item is obviously lost
@jrobinson1055 Customer Service for meh is off on the weekends. What did the tracking at http://tracking.newgistics.com/ show?

@jrobinson1055 Sometimes the USPS tracking doesn’t update like the newlogistics does…but in this case…yep. Looks like your shipment is a goner. I’ve had a shipment get lost like that and they made good on it. I also recently made a warranty claim on something and they sent me a new item.
I guess it will depend on whether or not they still have any of these. But I’m 100% sure they will make good, one way or another
@therealjrn That is the Newgistics tracking log…USPS shows even less information.
Hi @allendale80 -
I don’t see an order or support message from you under this account. Can you write in again and ask for me directly?
Be sure to check your spam folder for our replies - they get routed there sometimes.
@Thumperchick I replied with all requested info and received a response from Rowkin that Meh handles all support for this item. However, when I tried for a third time to submit the Meh form, I got this error:
This page isn’t working meh.com is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500
@allendale80 ok - so you were working with Rowkin.
I just tested the form: https://meh.com/support
It’s currently working. Can you try again?
Not charging!!!
I used my Rowkin Ascent Micro earbuds for about a week and a half - liked them a lot - but now I can’t get them to charge. The app shows the right earbud at 22% (constantly telling me “low battery”) and left earbud is around 50%. I’ve tried pulling in the case direct to my laptop via USB-C charging cable and using the USB adaptor, both to my computer and multiple wall outlets. Nothing. The lights on the case don’t change (I read the full user manual via the app) and nothing changes when it’s plugged in for awhile. Help!?!
@erarnold please use our support form to contact customer support.

These aren’t very good. The sound keeps dropping out when walking with my phone in my pocket. Also, the charging case looses charge when just sitting for a few days.
This was a gift that the recipient is happy with.
It was horrible. Never worked.
@elipongo did you contact support?
