Rip off "free shipping"
0I ordered the Kodiak charge station…after three weeks I tracked it to Los Angeles facility…then I am finally told that the item was “lost” or “damaged”… I asked for a replacement and I was told that my purchase was credited back to my card… I think that they just didn’t want to honor their “free” shipping for the $4.99 monthly fee… I think that they just didn’t want to have to ship it to me here in Alaska!

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. From your post it sounds like you got a full refund. Unfortunately the postal service can lose items from time to time from any shipper, and that’s really not under Meh’s control. Many online websites won’t even give you a refund if the item is lost in transit, and they make you file a claim with the USPS or FedEx.
@Collin1000
It seems the argument here is they only paid for the membership in order to get “free shipping” for this single order, but the membership/shipping portion was not refunded. Assuming this was the only item the person intended to purchase this month, they should ask for the membership to be cancelled and refunded too.
@Czynkqa - What @medz said above.
If you didn’t order anything else that month, ask for a refund of your membership fee as well. Meh has always been accommodating and tries to make it right, even when crap happens that is out of their control.
Read up on the whole Schroedinger’s Toothbrush story for an example.

No link? That’s not very helpful.
@Czynkqa @medz @therealjrn
There is a search feature. There are other threads on Meh customer service making things right.
OP just wants a refund of the membership fee (assuming that was the only item purchased that month). Meh and related sites are always limited quantities available deals. If they can’t ship a replacement, refunding is the best they can do, and they did that. They just overlooked the membership fee is all.
@Czynkqa @medz @mike808 You were the one that brought up the story, Mike. No need to get so snippy dude…I just asked for where the story was…
@Czynkqa @mike808 @therealjrn I’m sick of being tagged on this topic.
@Czynkqa @mike808 Ok, fine with me, I won’t tag @medz any more.

OK so ONE out of your 10 orders got lost/damaged/whatever.
They admittedly gave you credit for the issue.
Deal a day sites, by the nature of their business model, don’t generally sit on inventory to replace botched orders.
I don’t really see a ‘conspiracy’ to screw you out of your $5 fee here…
Or, to quote a famous troll … maybe it bother’s me more than it should.
Ummm but they shipped it and you tracked it so what would they have gained here?
@Ignorant Maybe Irk has a cousin in LA willing to falsify shipping records for pocket change?
@Ignorant @sammydog01 From what I see on my TV, there is a great need for pocket change in LA.
I thought Meh didn’t ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, and Guam. They must have changed something if you’ve been getting shipments to Alaska.
Anyway, put yourself in the shoes of the retailer for a second. What would you do if a customer in Alaska contacted you and said they didn’t get something you shipped?
In my opinion, the best solution possible is to track the shipment and if you cannot determine where it went, offer a refund. That’s exactly what the company did for you. What else do you want from the company? Someone from the shipping department to be executed?
@cengland0 YES!!! LET’S BRING BACK PUBLIC EXECUTIONS. THE BEATINGS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL MORALE HAS IMPROVED.
Wait until you order two “action cams” from meh and proactively order a couple of memory cards for them from AMZN. Then Irk’s cousin in Oklahoma City swipes them off the truck and the shipment is “lost.” Then try to return the cards to AMZN and discover they want you to pay for the shipping back. This happened to me me two years ago!
Not that I’m bitter or anything.
/ended up using the cards for something else.
@therealjrn Whaaaa?!? You mean rage quitting isn’t the only option when something out of the seller’s and buyer’s control goes wrong?!?

@therealjrn Did Amazon want you to pay return shipping, or did a “marketplace” seller wasn’t you to pay it?
@craigthom Two Samsung 32GB EVO Class 10 Micro SDHC Cards. They were sold by Amazon.com Services, Inc according to the order details in March 2016.
Looking at the order, they were $9.99 each. Maybe it was a special sale? I ordered them over a week later after the cameras.

I may have been able to call back and get a different answer. I don’t think I’ve ever sent anything back over the years. I’ve received a couple of refunds of late due to damaged product but no returns.
@narfcake wait - they glued the lamp, phone, cup and computer to the table!!
@Kidsandliz @narfcake Look closely, not glued. I do like how the envelopes self stack and the pens & pencils self organize.

That guy needs to do that to my garage.
@kuoh @narfcake Well on the edge of a short elastic then. The computer doesn’t even budge at all. I doubt it is possible to have enough G’s from flipping to keep that in place. The paper is lighter and it would stay put first.
@Kidsandliz @narfcake It’s mostly if not all CGI.
