Many years ago I slept on a cheap inflatable bed. I woke up with my ass touching the floor and bad back pain.
Recently, I slept on a high-quality inflatable bed (the kind with partitioned “cells”, so one’s ass doesn’t end up on the floor). I woke up with my head and feet touching the floor and bad back pain.
Bought a nice Aerobed from Costco a few years ago for about $60, and it was a great investment to have for company who are of average size/weight/pickiness. Got another mattress from Wally World for closer to $30 when we were hosting a family holiday and needed to accommodate a few more - Definitely not one that I would want to sleep on, but still usable. Figured it could be returned if it exhibited problems. While this model doesn’t offer the convenience of potential return, it is likely closer to the latter model than the fancy Aerobed.
My point is that between the trickle-down of technology since a few years ago and convenience features in a commodity good like this (built-in pump, structural support system for air distribution, improved materials), as well as the last image (the one with the dogs, asserting dominance atop an air mattress, which is undoubtedly a terrible idea if you want such a product to last longer than a few minutes), this could be a worthwhile deal for some people.
@arosiriak I could be wrong, but I don’t think any retailer is allowed to take a return on an opened mattress anymore (air or otherwise) unless they are intending to discard it.
@abkoll I was wondering the same thing. Looking at the Amazon listing - not currently available as @mediocrebot said - there is an answer in the Q&A stating that it runs on mains power and the cord has a cubby to stow in on the pump.
Who’s Nelly. Does this air pump have the option to plug into the wall or is it only chargeable with batteries?
.—Because if it’s only inflatable with the batteries, I think I’m going to sleep this one out I would like to cancel my order.Auntie Em! X2 Please advise Oh Ever-Villa-Gent, Meh Comment Queue Algorithm-Bots —10Q!
Specs state 14" but the photo appears at least 2 feet high. The price seems to support the specs, so just be aware. I have aerobeds, and was looking for higher air mattresses so it would be easier for people to rise and shine.
I ordered this and it was supposed to be delivered no later than the 29th. When I called the place shown on the tracking, they stated they are getting flooded w phone calls from people frantically looking for their packages and the tracking shows their facility. There is absolutely no customer service line to call? How do I cancel this order and get my money back bc I’m feeling scammed.
Who at Meh can assist me today with this. I’m about damn sick and tired of sleeping on the floor waiting for this damn bed to arrive w a bullshit tracking number and no customer service line.
@kimberleyeppes No kidding. I’m moving Saturday, a week-and-half after expected delivery day. If it doesn’t show up by then, it’ll be returned to sender and my kids will be sleeping on the floor of the new house until the moving van arrives.
This mattress is a complete piece of crap. I received my order and blew up the mattress for testing. There was a defective seam and it leaks all of the air out immediately. I can see why this was a close out. ZERO stars. I am awaiting a response to process my refund.
Mine doesn’t hold air!!! BUMMER!!! I guess it’s defective. I’d love one that does hold air that can be used but can’t get anyone to respond to my request that mine doesn’t hold air!! Just want one that works please!!!
Ordered it received it looks great thinking this is going to be great!! ITS NOT DOESN’T HOLD AIR TRIED TO EMAIL MEH ABOUT THE PROBLEM STILL NO RETURN TO MY EMAIL AND STUCK WITH A PIECE OF JUNK THAT DOESN’T HOLD AIR PERIOD. Don’t know if they are all like that or i was just unlucky and meh doesn’t care that mine doesn’t hold air!!! Sure would be nice to get a response about it but looks like that’s wishful thinking at this point! Thank you for taking my money no problem and never addressing my issue! I order quite often from MEH that’s going to stop and I will be canceling my membership! So hugely frustrating and disappointing!!!
@beckiesamssupport is currently backed up. If it’s been more than 7 business days since you’ve contacted them make sure to check any sort of spam/promo/update/etc folder as a reply was probably filtered there.
@Ignorant been 7 buisness days and nothing!! What’s your advice now??? It’s not in another folder or place in my email! As much as you like helping people and commenting on issues I figured you’d have a comment for this as well I’m praying it’s a solution you have and not a sideways comment on how ignorant I am, not unless you’re referring to me being a meh member that may be ignorant as I’m learning!!! Appreciate your help on this because I really either need my money back or one that actually holds air. Real simple request as this is what I paid for an air mattress that HOLDS air!! The one I received does not. Thank you kindly for your time and attention to this. Maybe you could help me figure out how to cancel all the recent orders I’ve made as well! Obviously this isn’t a place to purchase things if you need quality products or actually want to receive them or need customer service help! Truly grateful for your help and kindness! Oh also I’m very aware of the Pandemic as I live with chronic health issues everyday of my life and I’m permanently disabled unfortunately! Usually shopping online is the best way for me to shop and get things I want or need! Meh appeared to me to be a great way to get great deals on things online! Rethinking that now for sure!!! Truly appreciate your help! Be blessed and stay well!!
@beckiesams@Ignorant Sorry for the delay, but we are literally so far behind that we hadn’t gotten to your first email. This past month has just been a mess of things hitting the fan, and we’re struggling to regain any footing. I’ve answered your emails, so please check your inbox now.
@Ignorant@ThomasF Thank you thank you thank you! I’m smiling and very grateful for your help with this matter! Look forward to my purchase that works! God bless and stay well! Beckie
This was supposed to arrive by 29th. It still shows up as in TX. Hey Mod, I’m moving in a freaking week to the opposite coast, if this isn’t here I’m disputing it and buying something else. This is just so crappy. Also—does this really run on 24 D batteries? If so, that is absurd.
@njkatsia chill princess. Did you see the note about the pandemic…? it says orders may be delayed. So you were told ahead of time mkay? Ok. So you ordered anyway to save a few dollars and now you May have to sleep on a rollup like mahatma Ghandi. Remember we’re all in This bed together. I got mine yesTardgay and I haven’t inflated it yet but when I do I’ll put a single pea under it in solidarity with you mkay? Thanks pringle
@ignoramus a delay is understandable—when it shipped it was specified as a small delay. A small delay is not 2 weeks. A small delay is a few days. But cool, glad meh has little keyboard warriors like you to post portly spelled retorts on their behalf!
@ignoramus I concede that my comment was undermined by my own autocorrect-derived misspellings. And that you are quite a cunning linguist. Well played.
I received mine yesterday and it seems to work just fine. After about 3-4 hours of laying on it, it seemed to lose a little air but it fully inflated back to normal in about 10 seconds. I think it’s normal, me being about 200lbs, to lose some air. I’m hoping that it stays that way. There’s no way they can all be defective.
WHERE IS THE PUMP? DO YOU HAVE ON-LINE INSTRUCTIONS? DID NOT HAVE AN INSTRUCTION BOOK WITH IT. I HAVE HAD THIS MATTRESS FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS, HAVE NOT TRIED TO USE IT, CANNOT FIND THE PUMP. PLEASE INFORM ME HOW TO USE IT.
@PALLEYNE SINCE THE PUMP IS BUILT IN IT IS PROBABLY ON ONE OF THE ENDS OF THE MATTRESS. THERE WILL BE A LITTLE COMPARTMENT THAT OPENS TO STORE THE CORD IF IT’S A CORDED PUMP OR TO PUT BATTERIES IF IT’S BATTERY POWERED.

Nabbed this for when we have house guests, but that has not happened because of pandemic reasons. Finally pulled this out of the box and used it… and it deflated in about an hour. Suppose I should have busted it out when it arrived.

look, I don’t judge- but I prefer to sleep with things that aren’t inflatable.

Does anyone know what the weight limit is?
@joe43wv If you have to ask…
@hchavers @joe43wv His username suggests he is a big ol’ Joe from West Virginia. I wouldn’t trust an airbed.
Can’t find reviews anywhere or price comparison other than the actual website which always has a high MSRP.
@Claymate Apparently sold for $65.99 in March of last year.

That sums up my experiences with inflatable beds.
@awk your description floored me!
@awk Your experience must’ve left you feeling deflated.
@awk @Rossome I’d say that blows!
Don’t know if this is an independent of $ list

LIKE I NEED MORE FREAKING PEOPLE IN MY HOUSE!
What’s the situation on that built-in pump? Manual or electric? 12v? 120v?
@fkgjlsdflk “… our air mattress is self-inflatable with just the flip of a switch!”
I’d say that suggests it’s electric, but no idea about the rest. Most likely 120v.
@Bretterson @fkgjlsdflk Very almost entirely likely a 110VAC pump with attached cord, a la Aerobed.
@fkgjlsdflk seems to autoinflate so it’s built in but i don’t see a voltage. https://www.restorationgoods.com/products/restorology-queen-size-sleep-series-air-mattress-with-air-coil-technology-built-in-pump?variant=19662914682968
@fkgjlsdflk
24 D-Cell batteries. Two fills per set.
@RedOak ideal. Bought 3
@fkgjlsdflk @RedOak Really? 24 D batteries? That could cost as much as the mattress.
Looks like a decent air mattress, but a queen is too big for my pool.
@hchavers in all fairness- these make awesome patio furniture.

$109 retail at restoration goods website
Being the owner of two different sized air mattresses, I would never buy another one without the built in pillow.
Is the pump battery operated? Or do you have to plug the mattress in?

I don’t normally look at the daily meh email.
But I thought the idea was tease, but not expose the actual item being sold.
Today’s email quoted @awk and left “inflatable bed” unmasked!?!
