Of which, btw, this (more like a half second) is happening with a receiver we got from meh. I’ve already adjusted the audio as much as it will let me and I’d say we’re probably at a tenth now.
@jbartus When we first set it up, I ran something with a little microphone to set all of the levels automatically. My thought is that that’s been reset somehow. I’m hoping that when I find the special little microphone I can rerun that setup up and it’ll fix it. The problem just popped up recently.
Also, I’m incredibly lazy. I googled and poked around for about five minutes. I found the setting in question, tweaked it a little and finally put it on max. That helped, but didn’t fix it and I was like, “well now what the fuck?”
It’s annoying, but not worse than just listening through the TV and apparently not annoying enough that I’ll actually get serious about fixing it. I’m even pretty sure I know where the mic is, but then I have to find the instructions and figure out how to work it and oh god I’m tired already.
@jbartus But, yeah, I will. I’ve gotta verify the model and all of that first. So here’s what’s worse about my whining (and I don’t really mean to be whining, but admit that I kind of am): the receiver is actually otherwise awesome and has worked well for us and we got it for $5 with some other stuff in a fuko.

@joelmw if you’re any kind of upscaling try turning that off.

@joelmw Check if there’s a “game” mode. Usually that turns off all of the audio processing to reduce latency.
@joelmw most of the instructions can be found online with a quick Google search.
@jbartus Did I mention lazy?

@joelmw usually the model number is on the front.
This is great. Thanks for sharing.
That was worth skimming through.
@Thumperchick I see what you did there.
So, more like heck?

@jqubed Indeed.
