RE: Imperial Pearl 18" Station Necklace
0No mother, or girlfriend or wife would want something that cheep looking. Wow, talk about stooping to new lows on products. But yet we all get drawn back to Meh.com, like a bear looking for fish in the stream, hoping to grab the big fish but settling on whatever we can get. Don't get me wrong, Meh sells some great stove that I have purchased, but then there are the cheap looking items like the pearl necklace. Oh well.

Thanks for your input. But there can be only one pearl necklace thread (that's what she said).
When did they sell a great stove?
@Ignorant spontaneously-combustible-pillow
@deemoy We had an actual live female vouch for all females liking jewelry. But maybe I need to get the little lady a stove instead.
Would make for good costume jewelry
Jewelry - to me - a woman - comes in several categories.
Cute junk - stuff you buy at a place like Target or even sometimes higher end places like Macy's that has no real gems in it, is not high priced, is not made of silver or gold but suits you in a certain mood if you will.
Simulated crap. Doesn't look like what it pretends to look like, has no quality metals, save maybe paint, and I have no clue why anyone would be caught dead it in, much less alive.
Good fakes - man made gems (not simulated), usually set in sterling or 10/14K gold. Looks nice, usually classic styling, and reasonably priced (I have beautiful man made white Sapphires)
Semi-precious stones - garnets, onyx, amethyst - often set in silver or white gold - not expensive, often not classically designed. Sometimes statement pieces.
Statement jewelry that has no stones and often not made of silver/gold/platinum. Has to suit you for you to wear it. I have some expensive pieces that I love.
Jewelry that everyone assumes every woman should like - and in reality many of us don't - diamonds, 18k gold, platinum settings, they type of things people buy because it makes them look rich, not necessarily good. Anyone gave me this, I'd pawn it and dump the guy. Seriously. My daughter's engagement ring is a black diamond in a simple white gold setting, and it's beautiful and it's her.
The pieces you disliked you have the right to dislike. Others obviously liked it. They were simple, not classic and not overpriced.
So quit assuming your tastes are my tastes. Because obviously they sure they hell are not.
Okay, off my rant, Don't know why this flipped a button, but it did.
@Cerridwyn So, we can put you down for a stove too?
@therealjrn I hear they are great.
@therealjrn Nah, couldn't fit it anywhere :stove:
well that one doesn't make an emoticon/emoji/smilie thing
@Cerridwyn which category are these pearls?
@Cerridwyn Aaaamen. I own T-shirts and sweatpants and caftans and expensive clothing, just as I own street-fair jewelry and plastic jewelry; sterling, gold, and platinum; strings of pearls, amber, carnelian, and glass. It all depends on what mood I'm in and what color the outfit is. A piece of jewelry doesn't have to be intrinsically valuable to go well with my mood and what I'm wearing. This necklace wasn't my taste, but it was pretty and perfectly suitable as an "I love you" present to somebody whose taste it is.
@DMlivezey that depends on the person who buys them.
@Cerridwyn I prefer the cheap but cute stuff and thanks to eBay I have a drawer or two full that I never wear LOL. I do however Agree to a point with the OP that was one ugly cheap and out of date looking necklace.
It was so very ...... What's the word..... oh yeah .....MEH.
@Cerridwyn Or does it depend on the recipient if they are a gift? I was actually asking which category they land in for you though, but I like the philosophical angle too
@DMlivezey I actually considered the black ones. I could see a use for them. Decided against it because I have a 'costume' set that's bolder and I usually don't wear delicate jewelry.
I have a ton of semi-custom pieces from 20 years ago that I don't wear anymore cause, well, I just forget about them. Don't need to add another piece I'll just forget about.
Oh, darling... Why would one feel the need to point out the profound mediocrity of an item's profferance? It would seem to me that it fits quite as it should herein, per motto et al., hmm? You think my overabundance of travel mugs from here are any actual majestic monuments to hot beverage holdings? Or are just plain cheaply good enough to serve my immediate purposes? As would any others' fulfilled desires, be it pearl necklaces or knifey bluetoothed speakerwatches or whatevs? C'mooooooon.
@goldenthorn I see you've played knifey bluetoothed before
