@brhfl Couldn't have said it better myself. This is one of the first items that I've seriously considered buying in ages. I dropped my VMP and everything. Haven't bought anything since those pop up bowls in February I think it was. Of course, I'm a woman and I like jewelry. The black ones appeal to my non-girly side but the appraisal says they're dyed black, and not natural like the white and pink. /dislike
Some metrics on the picture: The sterling silver chain looks to be less than one-tenth the diameter of the pearls which are advertised as 5 to 6 mm each in diameter. Therefore the diameter of the silver chain would be about 0.5mm. or about 50 chain widths to the inch. No metal heft there, very fragile and only about about a gram or two of silver content. The rhodium plating is a nice touch which prevents the silver from tarnishing. However the Rhodium thickness is measured in nanometers so those atomic layers of the greatly more expensive and rare Rhodium will not add but a few milligrams to the intrinsic value of the precious metal content of the item. Another thing: The description states: "15 Semi-round shape freshwater cultured pearls".....Yet you will notice the graphic shows perfectly round pearls. Another thing: The so called "appraisal" PDFs have clearly stated "This Appraisal Is For Insurance" Prediction: This item will look chinsy and break. Sorry, Mediocre Labs ....But sometimes the Meh button is simply not expressive enough.

I had never seen pink pearls before now. And it somehow makes me want to buy them. I think I've gotten too into this color! I am typing this on a pink SwiftKey theme on my phone which is in a pink case.
Also, this is a painful reminder that I don't have a girlfriend.
@alacrity Since the pearls are relatively small and the chain is thin, it could easily be threaded through a large cartilage piercing as well. Very decorative.

I grew up in the jewelery business. No way that pearl necklace is worth $150 dollars but for 25 bucks it isn't a bad deal. Just beware the chain is pretty thin. It is a box chain which means the links are little boxes connected together which makes it stronger than a comparably thin normal chain but be careful. If you kink a box chain it is pretty easy to break it. Here is what a box chain looks like if you haven't seen one:

@therealjrn Eeeesh, clams are about 90% snot, 10% crusty shell. It's a miracle that they make anything useful.
You pretty much have to roll under your dexterity with a -2 penalty to get the clasp fastened.
