@DaveJohnsen The same reason your electric bill doesn’t come for 200A–because amps is the amount of current, and mAh is the amount of consumable stored power.
Edit: Wait is this one of those things where you’re trolling people like me who always feel compelled to explain electricity.
Just received, and I know no one will read this, but… this is complete garbage. Came charged 35%, plugged in for over 6 hrs, and it’s still 35% (used the included cable).
$15 isn’t cheap enough to just chalk it up to a ‘meh’ product.
Very unhappy
@therealjrn OK, it took another 10 hrs (using best cable I have), and slowly the numbers started to creep up. Last I looked an hour ago it was about 80%. Just glanced at it again (keep in mind it’s been charging over a day), and it says… FU.
Yes, my Chinese made Meh charger is dissing me
It’s been unplugged about 25 minutes, and it STILL says FU.
@syms@therealjrn Curious - what did you have the charging cable plugged into? If it was something putting out a very low voltage I could see how it might take that long to charge.
@cinoclav@therealjrn I’m technologically illiterate, but it was plugged into a wall charger, “Dual-Port 24W USB Wall Charger” - never had a problem charging anything else with this charger.
Still lit up, still at FU.
Oh well, at least I have a funny story for my $15
@syms Oh yeah, that should be plenty powerful. Funny thing is that the manual says the display should read 'FL" when full. Be curious to see what it does when you use it to charge something bigger.
@cinoclav FL? I guess they though FU was funnier… No, don’t think I’ll use it to charge anything else besides that small flashlight. It’s obviously broken, and I don’t want to ruin any of my electronics. Thanks for the info from the manual (no paperwork came with it).
A day and and a half later, and it’s still telling me to F U.
And yes, I know it probably stands for FULL… but even after I stopped charging it still shows FU.
Wanted to see if it would drop down to 99% if I charged something, so plugged in a small flashlight (didn’t want to damage a better item).
10 minutes later, yup, still FU

Oh thank goodness - a power bank at last!
Why don’t they just say 15 amps? I’ve often wondered that. Do they think we flunked out of arithmetic?
@DaveJohnsen Sounds like that foreign metric system math to me!
@DaveJohnsen Well they’re probably right for some of us.
@DaveJohnsen well we can’t all be smart waiting all day for another crap item to go on sale in 15 minutes.

@DaveJohnsen 15,000 is a bigger number, it looks much more impressive on the box.
@akparker777 @DaveJohnsen I know I’m not. Thats all I have been doing since I got up
@DaveJohnsen @dvermilion Watt’s that? Do I have resistance to current terminology?
@DaveJohnsen @phendrick I gauss you do! This topic is too polarizing, I’m gonna go play bejouled faraday or two.
A dollar an amp is a good price and this one has a nice digital display. I bought one to toss into the Christmas box.
That’s 15 Amp-Hrs, a rating of the battery’s capacity at full charge.
I’d buy but I’m trying to have less micro-usbs in my life, not more.
But if mAh’s becomes the new currency I’ve bought enough batteries on meh to be comfortably in the upper-middle class.
You can charge your device at 2.1 amps for a total of 7.14 hours.

@syms Maybe try using a different cable? If that doesn’t work, contact support.
@syms I’ll report my experience when mine gets here. Now I’m glad I got in on one of the 26,800mAh banks.
@syms Have you tried unplugging it, then plugging it back in?
