@yakkoTDI@ybmuG They’s probably sell monopoly money, Uncle Wriggly money, money from countries where inflation is 300%, Cambodian money where 1000 riel is worth about one USA quarter… even at half price for the Cambodian money they wouldn’t lose much.
@cbilyak@Kidsandliz Maybe instead of hallucinogens, it could be warped images of the item for sale so it felt hallucinatory. And also when the item arrived you could wonder “what the heck was I on?”
@Kyeh@mike808@romellex@tinamarie1974 the tall ones look like alternatives to waders. So if you were standing in a creek fishing they probably wouldn’t be too hot. But I’m sure your friends would roast you.
/youtube shut up and fish
@Kyeh@mike808@romellex@unksol don’t get me wrong. I have fished, I even won a tournament as a kid! Heaviest stringer, made it into the local paper and everything.
For me the best part was that all male cousins entered as well, and they all lost
But it is just not for me anymore. If I had to sit outside by or in a lake I would rather take pictures or maybe read a book.
@Kyeh@mike808@romellex@tinamarie1974 as long as you help paddle. I still want to go through the boundary waters by canoe and the camera/pelican case was part of the plan as was the route.
@Kyeh@mike808@tinamarie1974 I mean… Even if she was from Alabama that’s a little messed up. So would be calling everyone from Alabama backwards/inbred. That’s a large geographical area to make that assertion.
It doesn’t have to be Alabama. Maybe it was Mississippi, if that’s where you want it to be? Or Arkansas? Or North Carolina? Or Louisiana? Or <insert location here>?
@Kyeh@mike808@tinamarie1974 I get your trope. It’s not a particularly good trope but. Yes it exists. The current mass owner of said trope should be a guy from new York but regardless you took a trope that is meant to disparage a large group of people. You seem to be weirdly fixated on southern states. then you choose to pivot all that weirdness down to a specific user.
@mehcuda67 We just had to deal with people panic buying gas due to the gas shortages on the east coast (everything is fine here in Texas…except that EVERYONE decided they needed to fill up their cars. Fortunately (mostly) just their cars.). Now you want us to send you all of our air?
/giphy bad idea
@gt0163c@mehcuda67 Well you (well at least the greater Houston area) sent us your air full of sleet a while back… You shoved right on out and over the border. Just sayin’ .
@gt0163c@Kidsandliz@mehcuda67 Texas probably panic bought all the gas they needed when their grid failed due to mismanagement so they have no space for more. I haven’t seen a line at a gas station since I’ve owned a car. So 20 years.
I wonder how it will shake out. My old stuff is C3 and batteries are not easily adaptable to other platforms. I’m going to have to pick a new platform next time I need a new tool.
@unksol C3 to B&D adapters exist; keep the tool, use a B&D 20v max lithium battery (and charger) instead. A DeWalt option exists too.
Or sell them on eBay and move on. For some reason, folks pay a good amount of money for those.
The Kobalt 24v lineup is already ODM by Chervon (note the spelling) for Lowe’s, so offering Flex is logical since they’re also carrying Skil already. This is in direct comparison and competition to Home Depot and their relations to TTi’s brands and lineup – Ryobi (Skil) for the entry level, Ridgid (Kobalt) for the middle, and Milwaukee (Flex) for the high-end.
SBD (Stanley Black and Decker) is the company that should be worrying now, as they don’t have WalMart for marketing B&D tools anymore and has Lowe’s offering competing products within their own store against Craftsman and DeWalt; they haven’t given much attention to Porter Cable and I don’t expect them to nowadays.
@narfcake I have no issue with my C3 or plan to sell them. I just can’t get new tools so will need a new platform some day.it might be a long time before I need to and having two sets of batteries/chargers is not a big deal.
I was probably going Ryobi for homeowner but rigid has that warranty lol. but I figured you’d have the download.
If you need the extra power, Ridgid is worth the premium, especially with the lifetime service agreement. For value and the variety of tools on one platform, it’s hard to beat Ryobi.
I personally went with Skil to replace the Porter Cable NiCad tools I have. Even though most of what I have do not qualify (as they were mostly purchased from Amazon Warehouse for half the price or less), the fact that they can offer a 5 year warranty means they’re confident about its quality and durability.
@narfcake I generally in my head start with will they support the battery/platform then what’s the tool selection. Maybe we are past that first one. they used to randomly make up new ones that were the same but lie about the voltage and I can replace the lithium 18650 anyway.
Maybe they have stopped. Ryobi also seems to sell a ton of batteries for “cheap”
And yeah battery adapters for the slide style are easy to get. Our library in bumbfuck nowhere has a good 3d printer I just found out. They have a whole “makers” center

A Tool-a-thon
@packmom54 Looking back at some of the power tools offered, I’m not so sure.
I wonder how many of these sets are still functioning:
This was the old Skil, back when Bosch relegated them to the bargain bin. Their power tools have vastly improved under Chervon’s ownership.
@narfcake @packmom54
I always miss the cool stuff! I don’t recall those being an option when I bought this thin!
