@tsveggie just got my “random” drones. I thought if I ordered three then maybe I would have at least two kinds to play with. Nope. Three mini drones make that six, three packs of two. Nothing random about that, maybe next time Mehbot should just say we have 8 billion of these mini things and we can’t think of anything to sucker you into buy them than saying “random” selection.
Adding them to my random gift collection.
@rapture7 if that is your only comment (or maybe just the start of it?) it will buy it and the auto follow-up comment is that “it worked…”. You can put a number after it to buy multiples (doing ‘/ buy 2’)
The ONLY reason I bought this is so I could demonstrate to my wife that meh is not just about bluetooth speakers… so if my drone could pretty please also be a bluetooth speaker, that would be pretty fucking epic.
Can’t resist a random sale where I don’t know what I’m getting from Meh. I wouldn’t say I’m excited exactly because it will definitely be total shit and live in a box somewhere and get thrown out in 2-5 years…but, it’s $12 and I’m a sucker for the unknown.
FYI: I don’t want to harsh anyone’s buzz, but I got a Propel HD drone in the last IRK (Mehrathon) and it worked one time, then the battery stopped charging. I went to Propel’s website for support, and they said no more batteries were available because that drone was discontinued. It was one of the big drones like the silhouette, and I got to actually fly it once, and it worked pretty well. I hope I don’t get punished by the Mediocrebot for posting this, but them is the facts.
FYI: I still have the drone if someone wants to give me a battery for it, or if someone has a broken propel HD drone, and wants me to ship them the drone. At this point I can’t use it, since the battery will not charge
I bought one of these about six months ago and finally put it together and the battery wouldn’t charge… I sent email to the Propel
people and they said they had no parts…
Probably should have called you guys…
Bought a ten dollar mini-drone here & had a great time playing with it - for the five minutes of battery it’d allow. Camera took stills & video (in expected $10 resolutions) fairly well. It smacked the floor or a wall & now 1/4 propellers doesn’t spin. Sad story; but fun while it lasted. I’d keep the ten given the same deal…maybe a five would get me. Did get a microSD card out of it though.
FTR- the drone was the MOTA Jetjat Nano-C Drone back in January
@datruandi I’ve done that before – I ordered one for me, then was asked to order one for a friend. They came as 2 separate orders, 2 separate boxes. They even arrived a day apart. So yeah, in the future if you ever try it again, I’d try for 3 separate orders (IF you are a VMP – and it looks like you are as of this writing)
@datruandi Exactly what I got, ordered three thinking there would be a “chance” of getting more than one kind to play with; “random” it was not. Meh should just say they have 8 billion of these things and can think of no better way to sucker people into buying except fake “random” selection. Sorry!

Also Received Atomic 1.0. If no one posts recieving something different then I think meh was deceptive in calling this a “Random” drone sale. And we should band together in calling them out and demanding an explanation.
I’m bummed to see that this didn’t go as expected for everyone. That’s never the goal. While these were still random, it sucks to see so many people got the same thing and were upset. Sorry that we dropped the ball a bit. You know what that means…
We made a coupon for the random drone issue. The coupon is valid if you purchased the random drone deal.
$5 off. Expires May 31st.
Sorry that these weren’t as expected. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
@ChadP I’m actually surprised that meh staff noticed. I didn’t expect anything but I appreciate the coupon.
Really what I would enjoy even more is transparency of what models there are in the mix and a general idea of how many of each of them are. That way the expectations are more reasonable.
I think people would have been a lot less disappointed if they knew ahead of time that “90% will get 2x micro, 8% would get a spyder, and 2% would get…” or whatever the mix was. That way we would know just what we’re getting into.
For comparison, usually a random meh offering would show a pile of things in various colors and we knew it would be one of those colors.
