With only 50 for sale each time the folks that get them have very low latency and likely faster internet connections. Even with 100 it’s mostly those folks that get them. Back when they did 500 at a time (and I think a long while back they used to do 1000 at a time) the odds were evened out a bit.
Time how long it takes between when the timer goes to zero and you need to refresh the page. Do it too soon and you end up back on the old deal. Do it too late and its sold before you even hit refresh.
PS I missed you have to log in again. As sammydog01 said you shouldn’t have to log in again if you already logged in.
@sammydog01 Is that… The Man Who Fell to Earth? I don’t remember a big cookie scene. But I haven’t seen it since the mid-80’s, edited for television, so, maybe they cut it out. Or I only remember Buck Henry.
I pretty much always get an irk each meh-rathon, often on a phone with LTE only. I stay logged in through Facebook and Google knows me too well to force me to do a captcha, so it’s a matter of refreshing a beat after the previous timer hits 00:00, then quickly hitting the button, scrolling down to the bottom to click “Not a robot” and clicking “Buy it already” as soon as the checkmark fills the box.
One thing I’ve noticed that may help. I ALWAYS get the captcha on mobile. But on a computer I don’t see it as often.
Of course you need to figure out why it’s making you log in each time. I’m guessing that’s a cookie issue.
Other than that it’s a lot of waiting and quick everything required to get one.
People that are saying the internet speed and/or latency is an important factor, I disagree. I’ve been successful in snagging IRKs in the weirdest ways. I’ve been connected to another computer remotely using Teamviewer and got it. I’ve used my phone with Wifi and got one. Used my phone with 4g and got one. Ive got one on my tablet using Wifi. I have the slowest and crappest service comcast offers in my area and live in a state that is almost as far as you can get from the meh servers.
This is a skills based game. Not going to give all the tricks away but I’ll give a couple hints:
Make sure you’re already signed in ahead of time
Your computer clock may not match the meh server clock so you might have to adjust for that.
You need to act quickly knowing any delay or mistake can prevent you from winning.
@cengland0 This person says they’re being logged out somehow- that makes it a no go with all the suggestions here. I stay logged in forever as far as I can tell. Any suggestions as to why they need to log in every time?
@sammydog01 I see only one message from the OP @tchancey and it says, “So I try to get the IRK, I was told to refresh just as the IRK becomes available, but when I refresh, Push purchase it takes me to Log-in… by the time I log in the deal is gone. Any suggestions?”
Where does it say that he/she was logged in and it logged him/her off?
This was one time I could not snag an irk. I thought it was extremely hard on the stupid zagaton and gave up and went to bed early bc I was so disappointed. I also have a blood clot in my right arm that severely hurts, yeah that’s my excuse.
Omg this thing has been hurting sooo bad. Yeah any time it brushes against anything it hurts so bad. Sleeping has been a pain in the ass bc like you said the sheets. That’s why I gave up in the zagathon bc it hurt to use my arm and I’m right handed. It’s finally starting to go away slowly since my dc had me switch my blood thinner to shots and take baby aspirin too. But this one is nothing compared to the one I had on my brain about 10 years ago, I thought I was gonna die then bc the pain was so bad. Crazy thing is I got it when they put an iv in me, I didn’t even that was possible.
