@sammydog01 because they are made by the same company that made the worlds worst bluetooth head phone which is why I will not by one and the fact that I have two bluetooth speakers already that get little to no use but this one does have a FM radio. Oh wait radio really sucks now and even public radio sucks unless they are playing the Met on Saturdays and these don’t look like Met worthy speakers.
@cinoclav caught this back in the day- it was an incredible performance! That and I’ve seen Rush 17 times (they’ve been around awhile)… they never disappoint!
@alacrity I first saw them on the Grace Under Pressure tour in 1984. Didn’t miss a single tour since then. I lost track somewhere after 20 some odd shows. Once upon a time it was one show per tour. As I got older I’d go to several shows per tour. I had made it as close as 2nd row seats but never got to fulfill my dream of being in the front row. Now I never will. Damn you Peart.
Bought…just for the fact that I can add a TF card. Picked up a small transistor radio off ebay from China which had a TF card slot and that has been great…Loaded it with Motown and British invasion. Gonna do the same with this.
TransFlash and microSD cards are functionally identical allowing either to operate in devices made for the other. So if you need TF cards, you can search for Micro SDHC cards. @bdb@fastharry
@bdb@fastharry TF and SD Cards are the exact same thing, but these days the only companies I ever hear using ‘TF’ to describe SD Card functionality are the ones who make the cheapest of Chinese electronics. It’s actually a fairly accurate judge of quality, LOL.
@bdb@Plutonian actually, some newer modern class 10 cards will not work in a TF slot. I read that before i ordered a card for my radio. Different standard. I went with an old school class 3 8gb SD card and that worked fine.
@bdb@PooltoyWolf actually, the radio I bough sounds better than a lot of my other radio’s in my collection…including Sony and Panny transistors and my Grundig 300 mini shortwave am/fm radios…
@bdb@fastharry The sound quality would be mostly independent of the quality of the radio tuning circuit itself. I just prefer to be able to tune backwards and forwards, rather than relying on scan/reset.
@bdb@fastharry@Plutonian Thanks for the link. I’m looking for something that I can tune manually, but if I can’t find anything, I’ll go back and order this. I appreciate you giving info about how it works. You’ve sold me…well, except for the scan tuning thing. lol
@username Yep, I wanted to see if the radio has analog or digital tuning. Guessing it’s digital as one of the multi-function buttons on the front says “scan”. But then there should be an LED/LCD display somewhere but not seen on the stock photos. Meh.
@ciabelle@username It’s very likely one of those super-cheap ‘scan/reset’ style radio circuits, in which you simply press a button to scan forward through the channels, and press another to jump back to the beginning of the band.
@Stallion Probably deeper into the weeds of their business plan than A Mediocre Corporation wishes to share, but I am curious what the going rate is to have Steve Harvey flog your crap on television…
It has a single 4" speaker that is listed as a “woofer”. Isn’t it really just a full-range speaker, as they are no separate speakers for mid or treble?
Are you seriously saying this was selling for more than $15 originally?
@CraigDanger Ok, thanks. I got it and the manual. The manual is terrible, but whatever. I can’t get my Shure microphone to output to it, even though I have a gizmo that adjusts the output for smartphones, aka Shure -> gizmo -> microphone input into phone. Probably my mistake to assume the gizmo would work as a “crappy amp”.
Right now I only really want to learn how to turn off the LEDs. Don’t think that’s possible. Maybe I’ll crack it open and “cut the powa” to the LEDs.
Here’s an idea. Whenever Meh introduces an item, it uploads a manual of the item to manualslib.com and earns itself a cup of coffee from same in a few months.
@jeraden@narfcake it’s a party speaker with one driver, flashing lights, and FM radio for $14. I think the product description writes itself a crap review.
@TheFLP A “party speaker” would be a DJ which would be a great speaking gig if you like to stay up late and rhyme the word itch and say the n word a lot. Which I don’t but a lot of people are making a lot of money doing just that.
Horrible-Misted-Load Maybe Ben Shapiro will sound even more awesome when I listen to his podcast as I clean the kitchen. The speaker on my iPad sucks. Thanks Meh
A meh 4" woofer in a well designed and well made enclosure will sound better than a meh 8 inch woofer in an unoptimized plastic box.
Based on the reputation of the manufacturer, I am going to assume that this speaker is neither well designed, nor well manufactured.
It’s been a week since I ordered and is still “in process”. I don’t understand why I had to be moved to behind the back of the line. I’m only a shipment day away from meh, so maybe I’m low priority. Meh may have had a meh supply.
This is a complete waste of money. The bass sucks and while you get FM radio there is no way to see what station you are on. Do yourself a favor and skip this item!

They must have ran out of shirts
@mcemanuel It’s not Sunday.
@cinoclav @mcemanuel Well then they ran out of things that need the AAA batteries they
neverrarely sell.@cinoclav @Kidsandliz @mcemanuel " they never rarely sell" ….I’ll have to think about that one
Listen up — radio and light sale— bright deal tonight
@AttyVette It’s a Bluetooth speaker. Vive la mediocre nostalgia.
So, Meh employees, has anyone listened to one of these things? I get that they’re loud, but are they good? At all? Talk me into buying one.
@sammydog01 Nonsense - I’m streaming WQXR right now, and there isn’t a bit of suck to it.
@dino2269 @sammydog01 Hey I do an awesome radio show on 91.3 FM WWUH! wwuh.org
Is that Hoverkid in the last picture? I guess he got a new gig.
No cassette or 8-track for this 1970’s party machine?
I’m out.
wait- 800mEh battery?
that’ll barely cover the drum solo from Inagaddadavida at full volume.
@alacrity that solo goes on for like fifteen minutes — a diesel generator would have trouble covering it
@alacrity @nolrak It’s only 2 1/2 minutes.
@alacrity Now here’s a drum solo for you.
@cinoclav caught this back in the day- it was an incredible performance! That and I’ve seen Rush 17 times (they’ve been around awhile)… they never disappoint!

This is even too timer for me. Truth be told, I just can’t remember.
@hchavers …hunh?
Where am I supposed to dock my phone?!
@norman8 shove it under those divots in the handle — looks like it’s designed to hold three phones at once
Why no top or back view?
Drop shipped.

They paid Steve Harvey to show it off. Is this thing any good? That battery size looks pitiful
@Stallion $24 on Morningsave
@Stallion Probably deeper into the weeds of their business plan than A Mediocre Corporation wishes to share, but I am curious what the going rate is to have Steve Harvey flog your crap on television…
@ciabelle @Stallion I assumed Steve Harvey was paying Mediocre to ship his crap.
@Stallion My favorite part of this video is the automatic shake correction.
Is it water resistant?
What version of Bluetooth?
It has a single 4" speaker that is listed as a “woofer”. Isn’t it really just a full-range speaker, as they are no separate speakers for mid or treble?
Are you seriously saying this was selling for more than $15 originally?
The PBX-2 is the definition of Meh.
I read it has a microphone input on other websites. Is that true?!?!? Is there a PDF manual somewhere for this? The QFX website has nothing.
@cfg83 When I say “microphone” I do not mean AUX-In.
@cfg83 Worst case is you get yourself a pseudo Mr. Microphone.
https://www.amazon.com/Singing-Machine-SMM-107-Wireless-Microphone/dp/B000VXF2I6/ref=sr_1_16
@cfg83 oh it has a manual. One tiny page in the Queen’s Chinglish. Useless
@CraigDanger Ok, thanks. I got it and the manual. The manual is terrible, but whatever. @cfg83 It needs to put the lotion on too.
If you search QFX on Amazon, most of their products have pretty crap reviews. Guess no reason to expect this one to be any different.
@jeraden Thanks for saving me that homework!
@jeraden @narfcake it’s a party speaker with one driver, flashing lights, and FM radio for $14. I think the product description writes itself a crap review.
“Party speaker” sounds like the worst speaking gig ever.
@TheFLP A “party speaker” would be a DJ which would be a great speaking gig if you like to stay up late and rhyme the word itch and say the n word a lot. Which I don’t but a lot of people are making a lot of money doing just that.
@dino2269
Nah, there’s already a word for that, the MC. This makes me think of some poor guy in a suit trying to talk about economic theory over the music.

@Mburde Cool beans! That’s more than I could find. You have the snooping skillz!
Cool Speaker! Also, I have painful gas…
I got an AWESOME BOSE Bluetooth speaker for Christmas! !! I will take a Hard Pass on this. MEH!
Horrible-Misted-Load Maybe Ben Shapiro will sound even more awesome when I listen to his podcast as I clean the kitchen. The speaker on my iPad sucks. Thanks Meh
@allergycheryl At least you’ll be able to hear it over the dishwasher.
@sammydog01 nawww I tell the dishwasher he has to be quiet cause I can barely hear the speaker. Now he can talk while he washes the dishes
4" woofer? Must be the chihuahua of woofers. That’s half the size of a standard woof-er.
A meh 4" woofer in a well designed and well made enclosure will sound better than a meh 8 inch woofer in an unoptimized plastic box.
Based on the reputation of the manufacturer, I am going to assume that this speaker is neither well designed, nor well manufactured.
@hamjudo You are 100% correct! I wish I had seen your review before I ordered mine.
Do the lights flash? Do they change automatically? Do they do ANYTHING? Because I would need that.
@ThatGuyTony They flash ALL DAY LONG, they do not stop. That makes me want to crack it open and rig some kind of switch.
Pretty sure it’s illegal to use the words 4 inch and woofer in the same sentence.
Ok, it’s probably gonna be a stinker, but I’m hungry for a mediocre start to the year, so I’m in for a /giphy colossal-open-salad :
These will be $10 at CVS or Walgreens in about weeks
@somf69 And they will still be overpriced
Today’s the first day for possible delivery and it’s not even been shipped.
@brotherrobin Hrmmm, I got mine. Sorry for getting to the front of the line, .
It’s been a week since I ordered and is still “in process”. I don’t understand why I had to be moved to behind the back of the line. I’m only a shipment day away from meh, so maybe I’m low priority. Meh may have had a meh supply.
@brotherrobin I’m looking into this for you. In the meantime, if you could write into https://meh.com/support I’d appreciate it.
Thumperchick, I tried what you suggested and ended up with “meh.com is currently unable to handle this request” after clicking “send email”.
@brotherrobin click into your orders at the top and click on the “I need help with this” button and try that way.
This is a complete waste of money. The bass sucks and while you get FM radio there is no way to see what station you are on. Do yourself a favor and skip this item!
