@djslack@kdemo Halloween wasn’t skipped, it’s already on clearance.
I work retail. Christmas at some places starts in August. July if you’re Hallmark. Most places start September. It’s very polarizing. I have people get angry at the decorations, but most people happily browse and purchase stuff as soon as it goes out.
Halloween is the same. I am happy when I see it show up before September. Michael’s is probably one of the first to put it up. People get mad at seeing Halloween decorations before October. People start decorating the beginning of October so retail will sell it before then.
The thing that will really grind my gears though is hearing Christmas music before Thanksgiving. Just murder me now. I made a complaint at a restaurant one time because they had Christmas music at the beginning of November. A month is already too much.
Thanksgiving/Black Friday sales making certain retailers open on Thanksgiving is terrible. I hate it.
@TheFLP are you in Florida? 102.7? I vaguely remember a station doing that when I lived farther south.
A week should be plenty. Or at least mix regular music in with it. Where I work, we use the popular Mood Music (Muzak) and they have a mix. It’s still a lot though. I’m just glad they don’t play Christmas songs I actually like and ruin them for me.

I did notice Christmas was in full effect when I went into Home Depot the other day.
@djslack - Seriously? They skipped Halloween?
This the earliest I have seen it by almost a month, maybe I haven’t been paying attention?
On the other hand, I guess meh has been selling gifty things already.
Time to hibernate.

@kdemo @RiotDemon is right. Halloween is on clearance. I saw that at Lowe’s yesterday.
I still have a Halloween decoration to put up for this year, too.

The radio station my mom likes goes full-on, 24/7 Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving.
She turns it off until Christmas, or maybe the day before.

@TheFLP - I need a button to turn off the whole thing.
@djslack Yep, Costco is in full-blown Christmas mode too.
@RiotDemon
Nope, I’m the Northeast where’s it’s at least climate appropriate.
(Don’t get me going about being in Hawaii at Xmas time — everywhere I went it was snowing musically.)
Every Christmas song has been ruined for me by now.

My neighbors have their Christmas lights up already!
@narfcake - Are the trick-or-treaters supposed to be caroling?
@narfcake Are they up already or are they still up from last year?
@msklzannie Longer. Maybe 3 years now!
“Toy Land” opened here in Fargo almost two weeks ago. All the lights, trees, wreaths, etc. were all around it too!!!
