Power Banks
4Okay mehtezens
All the power failures around the CA storms have made me realize that over time I have given all of mine away. After sitting in the dark for 3 hours the other night, after all day with the phone not plugged in, made me realize that if it went on a lot longer I couldn’t recharge.
So. Looking for recommendations. Quality > Price but price does matter. I’m a Samsung Android gal if it matters, tablet and phone.
As to where, shrug, here, there anywhere. Looking for something I can plug in and forget it is there until I need it, not something I’ll use unless needed. And quick charging wound be a plus.
So bring it on. And don;t say it doesn’t matter, cause well, that’s never 100% true

I highly recommend the Anker PowerCore series. They are available in large sizes that last nearly forever, and are well built. I have never been able to fully discharge my PowerCore 20100…supposedly it can recharge my phone completely from dead about half a dozen times! The newer PowerCore+ models do fast charging and support USB-C. The only thing to make sure of is that the brick you use to recharge the power bank itself provides at LEAST 2 amps of current…otherwise you’ll be waiting forever for it to charge back up!
Side Deal has over 15 power banks currently for sale; prices range from $13, 2 for $17, up to $50.
i really like the samsung 10k battery pack
it works really well with my samsung s10 and s20
the only problem is that its sold out , so its either really expensive or used right now https://www.ebay.com/itm/204164192895

Go for something with USBc - if you’re using a power pack you’re likely in a pinch so will appreciate the extra speed, additionally you’ll be able to fast charge the battery itself over USBc and since it’s so large that makes a difference. Finally if you get one of the high wattage ones you can even run your laptop off it if it’s new enough that it has USBc power - look for something that offers a 30w or higher output if you want to power a laptop, 60w should be more than sufficient for most situations.
Jackery also makes great stuff. I’ve had a large pocket sized one for years, and bought a massive solar “generator” setup last year. Amazon or others, or direct.
Hmm, looks like they’ve given up on the power bank market.

We like the ones that have both integrated/folding AC prongs and integrated charging cables. Nothing to misplace or get tangled. Leave it stuck on your wall until you need it. I got a couple from one of the Meh-family of sites (or maybe not, can’t find the order), and some from Amazon, but they all seem about the same.
@walarney what brand are they?
@Cerridwyn The one I’m using now is a “Vrurc”, another is a “Veger”. They seem to be identical except for the branding; I’d pick whatever one is currently on sale for $20.
I noticed Costco had some that were a bit different shape and fewer connectors. I’d like to find one that has wireless charging with the folding AC plug.
@walarney
40ish right now on amahoizie
I have this one:
Its 15000mah so about 2-3 charges. Does PD and many of the quick charging specs. Can be quickcharged itself along with a low power mode for my weirder devices (Camera/Smart Watch etc).
