Post meh-rathon thoughts...

So we come out of the latest meh-rathon has ended and I have some thoughts about it. Product wise I came out of it with a meh-like feeling. I was able to pick up a few items (2 vmp). I picked up a wifi indoor camera so I can check in on my dog and see what mischief he is getting into. A set of adventure time glasses, so the kids don’t break my glasses. And a meh shirt that I felt some weird, unknown pressure to buy.
I didn’t get any fukos as usual. My streak continues - “0”.
Fuck you, meh!
But, I had a great deal of fun throughout the day. The threads were jumping, and this made me quite happy. The only complaint I saw was from @f00l, who thought all the product threads were cluttering up the forums. She stopped complaining when she scored a fuko; order identifier cranky-hypocritical-bitch.
What made it so fun for me was the large number of people we don’t normally see participating in the forums! I saw “K” names I have never seen before. It was great. Gifs and funny comments were everywhere. Imagine if these people would come and play all the time. I love when lurkers abound. My love of them is not completely altruistic though. It is just more people I can fuck with 
But in all honesty, I really enjoyed everyone that participated in these threads during the event. Thank you.
Wait, I am not done yet. Time to discuss shirts.
I was disappointed with the color choices we were given for the meh shirts. Black and grey only, seriously? So what would I like to see in the future? I would greatly like to see the return of the mediocre lab shirt.
@SSteve suggested this logo on a polo shirt. I would love that also.
Someone else suggested the tees to have pockets. Seriously> Are you fucking kidding me? No, just no.
I would also like to see the occupy meh mascot made into a shirt. PLEASE.
And finally, @narfcake has been pinging @snapster for the creation of a meh cat shirt. I think it is time that his ultimate wish be granted.
Side note: I was a little perturbed that a large “M” was used for
Meh-rathon. What makes meh meh is the small “m”. Please don’t make this mistake again. It is the little things that bother me.

@daveinwarsh Usually now, most of the tees I see have small pockets that are too small for readers. May I suggest a shark tank product that has made a ton of money $10 million in 3 years.

If I could have gotten a VMP to buy a Meh shirt for me as a gift and then I would have reimbursed them $10, I’d have been ok with the shirt.
Personally though, I couldn’t justify $15 taking into account the color options.
I guess that would explain why my purchase count is so low.

Worst meh-rathon ever.
The folks at Meh should really learn the basics of an exciting plot.
They only got 1 out of 3 with the attention grabbing poo to start us off. There wasn’t really an exciting item, and it petered out with two lackluster 1/2 hour long mediocre items.

$15 is too much for a shirt. (I paid $10) I liked the normal colors, though.
I got the raspberry pi. Been meaning to get one for awhile now. On a scale of cucumber to donkey, I give it a pool cue.

I think we are seeing more kickstarter Ks because of the semi retirement of VMP. In fact, I think it now preffers the K over the VMP badge
@MrGlass the Kickstarter K badge has always taken precedence over the VMP V badge. I am both, but the K is the one that is visible.

@cpierce I’m pretty sure its not a huge deal. Though I live near a microcenter which often has Pis on sale.
@MrGlass I think they were $25, so $10 off the regular price. But then I’d have to go buy all the extras like a case and heatsinks and etc. so I might as well get one of those kits that has everything in it…
@cpierce for $50 you can get an entire set (as @MrGlass mentioned) on Amazon. Works great for my RetroPie setup.
@ACraigL @cpierce I have a few running constantly for my 3d printer & file server. never needed a heatsink, cases are easy to make. I have definitely seen them at similar prices before but not sure how often it happens.

I bought a Pi on one of the Pi Day sales, then ordered case and heatsink kit from China. All in for about $32. Of course in a fit of buyers’ remourse I’m wishing I had spent the few extra bucks on one of the Nintendo retro cases.
Well, lets see, post Meh-rathon. Captcha boned me on each and every Fuko. If there was not a Fuko no captcha, so SCREW YOU MEH CAPTHCA. Each chance I had the Fuko purchase up and auto-filled and the damn Capthca screwed the pooch.
Other than that it was Meh, i got some cheap Christmas presents to give out.

Not to be a buzzkill @mfladd but you should probably forget any notion of getting Occupy Meh shirts from the Meh. Meh doesn’t own the rights to that design, it’s not theirs to sell, never mind profiting from it. Slapping some text on top of an existing image doesn’t constitute an original work so even if whoever stuck the text on there said they could the copyright of the underlying image dictates regardless.
@jbartus @mfladd @Barney However, if I were to take a meh shirt and a tube of purple glitter glue and write ‘occupy’ over the ‘meh’, that’s customization and enhancement and nobody could stop me. If anybody asked why I did it, I could ask them why they were staring at my boobs.
