Being tiny, yeah, the audio quality leaves something to be desired, but they work exactly as advertised. Battery life is only a few hours at best, but then again, I don’t know many people who would be entertained with it for long enough to drain the battery. These are best used for the WOW factor or as a party trick. And yes, I do believe Meh has sold them in years past. My personal favorite variants are the transparent ones where you can see the electronics inside, giving you an idea of how they managed to balance the weights to make it spin properly.
EDIT: Best used with appropriate songs, like You Spin Me Round or Wheel in the Sky.
@callow Wow, sure enough. Not sure which numbers I was imagining in my head. Or maybe I just pulled a J.K.Rowling and was bad at maths.
At $3.52, I could see trying it out. On one. But I don’t have 50 friends to subject the experiment, nor do I want to set up a pyramid scheme to get any “friends” I can find to sell them for me.
I got some from Meh, didn’t I? The sound quality wasn’t compromised at all by spinning. Take that however you want.
@blaineg With it spinning edgewise, you should get a warble or an oddness to the note. Spinning with the face toward you, no doppler involved.
@werehatrack The sound was so crappy you really couldn’t do anything to damage it further.
@blaineg
@sammydog01 That was probably them, looks like it was $10 for 2. I got them for nieces & nephews.
Possibly one reason I’ve been dubbed FUNcle Blaine, and “He’s the one I’ve been telling you about.”
Does it at least have a rechargeable battery that is recharged by the spinning?
@yakkoTDI Rechargeable, yes. By spinning, no, for obvious reasons. Recharging treadmill sold separately.

Gee, and you only have to buy 50 of an item from a burned out fad.
@radi0j0hn At $10 each. Yikes!
I kinda like the idea of the lights… but I can’t think of a good reason to put a speaker in it. Oh well. I obviously wasn’t the target audience.
@radi0j0hn @xobzoo $3.50 each. Still way too much!
($159.99 + 16.10 Expedited Shipping) ÷ 50

If that’s the worst idea, here’s plenty of contenders.
