@simtel20 and I also can say “these” really pretty good. (quotation marks added to emphasize the reading corresponding to the grammar) I have no idea if these earbuds are really pretty good…
My phone lacks a headphone jack. I think I have an adapter somewhere, but I forget about it as I just use bluetooth headphones. Just debating if it’s worth getting these for occasional air travel when there’s a seatback entertainment center with a headphone jack… Would I remember that I had these the next time I fly a carrier other than Southwest?
I don’t really get what makes these better than WM…
Then again I am the only person on Earth who is not an audiophile it seems anymore… I mean seriously how many freaking BT speakers do you need? Well Mom I can’t play music across the entire university at 100 Db so I need like 60 more. Weird world I will say,
Being that I don’t own the Sennheisers nor am I an overly serious audiophile, I can’t give you my own opinion other than the fact that I think they sound great. They’re also the best fitting earbuds I’ve ever used. For $9 or $10, you don’t have much to lose.

Nope…sold the yacht last year and not heading to St. Tropez this year so won’t be needed Torty shell dorkified headphones…Damn, those things are hideous.
@olsmeister
dB SPL at a 1 watt at 1 meter is normally a spec for speaker sensitivity, not headphones. Headphones are normally rated at dB SPL with a 1 mW input.
I bought two of these for my son. He’s hard on earbuds. One has already been through both the washer and dryer and still works. The dryer usually kills them. I’m pleased.
@Thumperchick All of the above. The packaging was very nice, but the headphones themselves felt like $10 headphones you see at a dollar store. The only way to get reasonable sound out of them is to push them in super far, which isn’t easy to do because the large diameter of part that goes in your ear. I wouldn’t by them again, even at $5.
Do NOT hate on the Ice earbuds. They are my fave because they are the only ones that are small enough to fit my ears comfortably. Please sell them again!
Not an “audiophile”, Not a smug bastard whose spent x # of hours reading crap on the interwebz comparing reviews. Just an old punk geezer (I made it beyond 50) - which in this case means a penny pinching BE-ATCH leery of buzzwords and jargon with her top end range of hearing wrecked from too many live shows, tinnitus, small ear canals…a practical single Mum who was convinced after seeing the post of “went thru the washer…still worked”
I miss the $5-$8 Maximo earbuds (the “guppy” and “sprout” ones in the bright colors, they were surprisingly sturdy) but a pair that matches my glasses and promises to be somewhat sturdy? Sure.
Ordered the pair here 2-3 months ago. The earbuds don’t stay on very well and can get stuck in your year. Also, for whatever reason, the audio in one of the earbuds is lower than the other.
Would it kill you to clearly delineate when selling headphones whether they are bluetooth or wired? Sheesh…yeah I know, 48" cables, 3.5MM, how ‘bout if you just fuckin’ say so?
So I just noticed on a conference call today that the right channel on these was going in and out. Tilt my head this way: in. Tilt it the other way: out. Verified with a YouTube video (i.e. it wasn’t the call itself doing it and me imputing the cause to the headphones).
These haven’t gotten any rougher handling than my other sets of earbuds. I noticed somebody else said the right channel on their set is permanently lower than the left — probably cruddy build quality in the right-side volume control. Oh well, maybe I’ll take them apart just for educational purposes.

@simtel20 it’s hilarious that you think we have a copy editor.
@simtel20 @Thumperchick I was already convinced you didn’t.

“These are tortoiseshell.” Yeah! Everyone wants that “turtle in my ear” look.
@hchavers What if I already have tortoise on my face in sunglass form? Too matchy-matchy?
In for three!

It is certainly not tortoise shell - endangered species.
more likely Tortoloid.

@ciabelle Just don’t forget the adaptor for those planes that still have the two prong jack.
So these must suck a lot of balls because they bear that dreaded three star rating on Amazon.
At first I thought they were Bluetooth. Then I scrolled through the pictures. Then I didn’t want them.
@courteousblock These are the first earbuds I’ve looked at twice on Meh simply because they aren’t bluetooth.
“Anyway, point is, these buds got a real flat butt.”
I’ve got a pretty flat butt, also. Is that an asset?
Backup headphones are always nice.

Sorry no. Panasonic ErgoFits are still the best inexpensive option.

@cinoclav How do those compare to Sennheiser CX200? Those have always been my default sub-$20 earbuds.

101.2 dB at one watt at one meter? How do you listen with earbuds at one meter away?
@lennypazz I’m guessing since they’re talking about sensitivity, this is a spec for the microphone
@olsmeister

The Polks would always come into a restaurant I managed 10 minutes before closing. They get none of my money.
@saecamden Were they slow Polks?
@rpstrong marry me
Now those,…Those look like they would be hard to jam into my urethra.
@Bumplepimp Seriously, who the hell put that 90° turn in the 3.5mm jack?
Sure. Why not? (The main reason I buy anything on Meh.)

What’s that pointy looking thing at the end of the cord? Is that some sort of fancy antenna? It doesn’t seem to correspond to any holes on my phone.
I’d normally jump on these, but I have a USB-C phone now with no jack.
Stopped reading at “principal.”
Buying these anyway…
