Roku sent me an email about this free channel called Pluto TV. They have an entire channel dedicated to MST3K and all sorts of other cool stuff. Does anyone else use it?
Watched it mainly for Mst3k. Other channels occasionally when I want something in the background and don’t want to have to set a playlist just have it run like regular TV. Also has MMA fighting channel not the top stuff but a good fight is a good fight.
With the upcoming FCC TV station license buy-backs, the local over-the-air station that carries Comet will be going off-the-air. Lucky for me, Comet is on Pluto, so I can watch it on Apple TV.
Comet is the sci-fi equivalent of meh. Bad movies that you just have to watch. If my TV’s on, the odds are pretty good that it’s tuned to Comet.
I’ve watch some of the Pluto channels these past few years, and it’s as ad-filled as everyone says. It’ll be the same handful of commercials shown every time, in succession. Some are cute, so I won’t mind seeing it six times in an hour - like the Jeff Bridges one for Uggs or Benicio del Toro for Heineken (welp, their method clearly works).
I’ve also noticed a lot of the channels just recycle the same episodes over and over. For instance, I’ve seen the same five “After Hours” on the Cracked channel so many times, I can now recite them by memory.
I don’t complain, because ‘free’ excuses quite a few offenses, but thems my opinions.
I’ve used it once or twice- it was pretty cool, but I don’t watch it now.
/8ball is it only available on roku?
Without a doubt
I’ve always loved plutos app design… very visual with the comets/asteroids etc.
I’ve watched some old mst3ks on there but generally some blah channels… its pretty good when there is nothing else
they sometimes have ad volume issues if I remember correctly, really really loud ad volume issues.
@Yoda_Daenerys it’s on several:
ROKU, AMAZON FIRE TV, APPLE TV, CHROMECAST, ANDROID, IOS, ANDROID TV, SAMSUNG, VIZIO TV, SONY, WEB, MAC, WINDOWS
http://pluto.tv is their address
@thismyusername maybe, but Roku rules
@thismyusername that’s good info, thx for sharing
/8ball is that good info?
You may rely on it
@thismyusername I watched for a few minutes and it seemed like more ads than mst3k.
@medz They also added a Roku channel with lots of free movies. Cool.
@sammydog01 yea it’s, as they say, better than nothin’
Yes. I’ve used it explicitly for mst3k.
Love Pluto…lots of stuff…including
THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO!
@somf69 Captain Scarlet was on at dinner time.

I watch it all the time. Not so much ms3k because I’ve seen them all but I watch rifftrax, onion tv and cracked, which is hilarious.
I have Pluto TV on my Roku and love it.
