@Yoda_Daenerys I think the way they are selling them now is a la carte. You want the #5.1.2 combo meal, aka the less widely known table d’hote offering.
I want a receiver too now. Tempted to get these but i have a vaulted ceiling so I think up-firing speakers wouldn’t do so well.
Oh come on, the average meh customer can handle Atmos two of these. At least cheapo Bluetooth speakers make good gifts, I don’t like anyone enough to shell out for these. Just to show my displeasure I’m going to buy ANOTHER FoodSaver. Stick that in your speaker and blow it!

Bluetooth audio uses lossy compression doesn’t sound as good. It’s fine that ti’s good enough for you, but you should understand that many people want more.
Adding Bluetooth to these would require adding amplifiers and either AC power or batteries that need to be charged or replaced. Why? These are used for receivers.
Receivers don’t use Bluetooth to talk to speakers (because #1), so it would be pointless to add Bluetooth to these.
@craigthom don’t forget the video/audio sync issue with bluetooth also- kind of a big deal since this would be primarily used in a home entertainment set-up
Oh, for goodness’ sake, someone please buy these out! They come up so often! I don’t even have a TV right now. Not out of “heh, I don’t even have a TV,” but out of “don’t have the room/outlets.” Can’t buy this got-danged 3D nonsense. I just bought a foodsaver out of frustration.
@StatsGuru I picked up those Onkyo Atmos speakers a couple weeks ago, got sick of waiting for the Onkyo TX-NR545 to come back, and bought the TX-NR646 on Amazon. Splitting the components up like that is really impractical.
It’d be nice if they could let VMP members know when the receiver is coming back around.
If Atmos ever gets as popular as its fans say it should, the prices on these speakers will drop as way more manufacturers get in the game and we get some competition/benefit from the volume. That said, there is such a thing as diminishing returns, and outside of people who have a dedicated home theater room, I can’t imagine it catching on that much. I mean, it’s 2016, and most people I know won’t even go so far as to get a dedicated receiver for 2.0/2.1.
Personally, my living room doesn’t lend itself to an Atmos setup, and I’m perfectly happy with my 5.1 configuration.

@djslack i want them all available the same day, ala carte, kapeesh?
The price is too loud
The audience is now deaf.
I can’t hear you! Louder!
I prefer the horizontal channel.
@norman8
Speak up - you hear me
Are you speaking to me?
(Nope … even if you read it in your best De Niro accent … not particularly funny. Best I could do tonite, though)
I don’t care about the stupid speakers, where’s the video??? @moose?
@sammydog01 It’s back. Phew!

Hopefully these will be great with the Xbox One
The write-up sounds like their sound is sound.
@KDemo It’s resoundingly sound, by the sound of it.
@awk - I soundly agree, it may even be characterized as ultrasound.
How much were these before?
There once was a zombie named Ned
Who liked music, though he was dead
In Atmos’ defense
For him these made sense
He had ears on top of his head

Why would I want this if its not Bluetooth ? Buying new audio equipment that isn’t wireless makes little sense in today’s world

Almost bought. . . but decided that 3d was a little silly for a bookshelf speaker and got a pair of the bs22 used instead.
Am I the only person who sees them on Amazon for way less?

@MichaelPotash Those aren’t way less.
@Fuzzalini They’re way less than the Amazon price listed here.
@Fuzzalini
What kefkask said, way less the Amazon price meh listed.

May or may not be worth mentioning the xbox one s (not the 80s vcr size one) was just announced to be having atmos support added in an update soon
Does anyone have these? Are the bookshelf speakers front speakers? I get that the add on speakers are if you already have a set of speakers.
It should have been recorded in Dobly. And we didn’t have Atlas…
@MrNews You mean dubly right ?
Ha Edit: I just read your post as Dolby, and thought I was being funny.
But it turns out I’m not funny. You are though.
@mehvermore Yes, and thanks for the sock. You have freed Dobby!
Please sell the receiver again!

Still only 79 sold, YUP, MEH!
