@fuzzmanmatt I made a working G3 out of two broken ones (one wouldn’t turn on, one had a broken screen). Cost me $50 total for both of them. Only took 3 tries, I went from nearly 8 hours to take them both apart and put them back together again to just under 3 hours. Only had 2 screws left over in the end. And I had one working laptop.
@haydesigner Melatonin is really effective for some people, but does nothing for others. I like it for when I need to reset my sleep schedule for jet lag recovery, but it can mess up your sleep more than it helps if taken on a regular basis.
@brennyn@haydesigner Yeah, THIS right here. Melatonin’s ugly side is that if it works to put you to sleep, it also will cause a dependency very quickly, say within a month or two for most people. The dosage needed goes steadily up, with predictable results. Several of my now-adult kids’ friends used melatonin thru middle- and high-school, and the problems with insomnia and other sleep disruptions lasted for years after they stopped – for every one of the people who used melatonin regularly. My own kids used melatonin for just a few months, and commented that nicotine withdrawal was way easier. I’m surprised it’s not regulated more tightly.
@haydesigner I bought it last time and it does seem to help in falling asleep and sleeping longer. I would get an extra hour or two with less waking during the night. After waking, felt actually awake where with Unisom I feel like crap all day even though I slept longer than usual.
Melatonin alone did not seem to help me so the CBN seems to being doing something. I do hate the taste of it though. I try to pour it down quickly without letting it hit the front of my mouth. That cherry vanilla is pure yuck.
@blaadnort@brennyn@haydesigner melatonin dependency is usually the result of the megadoses most supplements contain. I use 350 micrograms per night, have for decades, and if I forget to take it nothing bad happens immediately. If I skip it for several days, my naturally screwed-up circadian rhythm reasserts itself and it takes two or three nights of melatonin to wrangle it back in line.
5mg is what many supplements contain, and that’s a 14x overdose. Bad news. I’ve seen “extra strength” go as far as 15mg!
This has 1.5mg per bottle, a mere 4x dose. That’d give me night terrors and I’d probably wake up somewhere else, but most people can probably handle it without becoming dependent for years.

Sucralose. Nope.
@EvilSmoo give me some xylitol, makes for a smooth exit.
@EvilSmoo That’s the least concerning part. A “proprietary blend” means there’s no QA. Might get more sawdust and less rat droppings: who knows!
Who needs CBD when you can have CBG or CBN? Close enough, right?
@Num1Zero CBYes!
@Num1Zero @xobzoo CBYes TV will put you to sleep so no need for this.
I’m not in college anymore, I don’t need this shit! And I know speed, I had a PowerBook G4 back then! With 802.11b!

Can anyone with any semblance of authority speak on whether the “sleep“ version is any better or worse than taking a sleeping pill like Unisom?

@blaadnort @brennyn @haydesigner Yes. It’s by prescription in some other countries. Australia, for one.
Take the aspirin warning on the night bottles seriously if you’re allergic.
What happens if you mix them together? Do you dream about a really good party?
@awk That was the first thing that came to mind for me. Buy both, take all of the labels off, drink three or four random bottles.
@awk You dream about summoning the Stay-Puft man, and wake up suddenly, covered in marshmallow goo.
Shouldn’t these shots be free?
Something about it in the First and Second Amendments?
Or, whatever?
@phendrick This isn’t basketball.
Basketball is a peaceful planet.
CBN? So the 700 Club in pill form?

I bought these last times. Didn’t really feel the energy boost or the weed. The sleeping ones don’t do anything at all
And now I have an unintentional earworm of “White rabbit” running. Except it sounds like Annie Lennox doing the vocals, which would be amazing.
@werehatrack i think logic and proportion have fallen swampy dead. though I have no idea what that means.

A Mondegreen!
I love the Floor Police! It has the cleaning power I crave!
@Trinityscrew sorry, the Floor Police no longer live inside of my head. Jefferson Airplane just moved in.
