In comparison, this is more expensive than the Puleida 600 watt version for $149.99 they’ve had before. I bought one and it’s still going good.
.
@macdaddy1 The Puleida one is terrible; Total storage capacity is basically the same too, just a slightly beefier inverter (but anything less than 1000 isn’t that useful)
I bought this unit recently and took it camping. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. It’s something I’ve wanted for years but a unit like this was always out of my price range until it came up for sale on Meh.
I bought two of these before and last Saturday night we had a sudden power outage and they came in handy for sure. Plugged a lamp in and was able to read while we waited for the power to be restored.
@Primey I many battery-operated lighting sources scattered around so that we always have one nearby should it be needed. And when the power goes out unexpectedly, the beeping from the many UPS units serves as an automatic task list for safe system shutdowns. Eventually, I’ll probably invest in an Anker whole-house battery system. (It damn sure won’t be one from Tesla; I loathe their adamant refusal to deal with the idea of third-party service support.)
@blaineg OTGH, the extra space inside the case also provides good air flow for heat dissipation plus a little buffer room in the unlikely event that one of the cells gets overexcited and tries to torch off. I have not heard of that happening with the ones from this manufacturer, but I do not consider the choice to provide extra ventilation ill-advised.
I’m pressed. Just got mine today and eagerly plugged it in, ready to charge it up for future storms, only to find out it arrived D.O.A. No indication it’s receiving an AC charge, just a dead hunk of plastic and whatever is inside.
@SecretzRUs Head over to meh.com/support and let them know, they can help. I will also note that the one I have was similarly dead-seeming until it had been plugged in for several hours, and then it “woke up”. It’s been OK since. Good luck.

This seems to be a better buy ($199) than the Coleman Battery/Generator for which they’re asking $229 for the 500 Watt version.
@macdaddy1 But they sold a refurbished one of these for ninety nine smackeroos in October. (I have one, and it’s a great deal at that price)

If Meh buys enough of these things from P2E, maybe they can have one that has a “Meh” silkscreen on it instead of P2E or Duracell.
@caffeineguy They got a load of the Coleman ones, too. I personally distrust that brand less than Duracell.

It was $100 on October 26th. Though that may have been refurb. Not that I could tell from packaging or condition.
It’s flyweight for the size, not much in there.
@blaineg Yes, those were refurbs.
