Pets! Pets! Pets! Show me yours........Part Deux
12I know we have had a thread like this before, but…I don’t care. Time for a new one (p.s. @DrunkCat hates when old threads are resurrected - he is moody
I love pets. Many of us love pets. And we need a chance to show them off. These animals put up with us, not the other way around. They offer unconditional love, and in return they just ask for us to treat them well. For those of us who love them best - they are family. They offer us entertainment, joy, love, and funny moments that can’t be replaced.
This first thread has so many amazing pets from our Mehtizens. But it has reached maximum capacity (200+ posts) where it is slow loading, and people don’t frequent as much. Our pets deserve more. So, part Deux. We are on a weekend and there are so many yet undisclosed pets we have yet to see. For those who have not yet seen our amazing first round of pets - please check them out. They are amazing.
https://meh.com/forum/topics/pets-pets-pets-show-me-yours
So now it is time to show us all what great pets are part of your family.

but i don’t have any more pets to post.
@carl669 adopt one.
My dust bunny. Best pet ever.
@heartny Ha! That has Dyson written all over it.
I will post the last from @lenea9011 (requires a pic shift)
That kitty needs a contract.
@mfladd Ava is our new family Kitty. We got her from the Humane Society a week ago. She is everything a single mother with 3 kids could ask for. Note the polydactyl feet!
Even more ammunition for my crusade against necroposting.
@DrunkCat I see your agenda, but do you have another pet to post?
@mfladd I call him brony jr
@DrunkCat
from @accelorator
Baxter. He’s a Honey Badger at heart. (plus a pic shift)
my bad. correction: @accelerator That is what I get for posting when tired. But I will also post your very regal looking kitty.
@mfladd Thanks! I need to learn pic posting skills.
@accelerator Kitty is pretty!
@accelerator Talk about photogenic!
@mfladd That is an impressive photo
i love these pet posts (saw the first one). makes me feel so happy and not afraid, and content… to see all the these beloved critters well taken care and loved!!! warms the damn heart it does!!! verus the sarah commercials and the news stories about nasty people being mean to animals, all the damn time… reaffirms my belief, that the majority of folks are kind and caring to all animal companions!!! anyways, i like em…
this is my dog george and the gremlins. had to put down george at 13 years old on 12/2/15… he was the dog, i have ever loved the most and i have loved many dogs… love the gremlins too. rudy & benny, they are 12 now… getting old they are…
was sad long enough… went and got me a girl, the end of june., georgia!!! she’s 16 weeks now, so terrible and wonderful all at the same time!!! lol
you haven’t even seen my cats yet!!!
@mick I know, right?! I can watch these pets all day long. It makes me feel good that these pets are loved and cared for.
Why am I imagining a Pixar film - George and the Gremlins. Sorry for your loss of George, but Georgia is seriously on cuteness overload.
And post your cats. I haven’t even started with my living pets yet.
@mfladd my stepson bob always said, " george and the gremlins" would be a great name for a band!!! lol georgia is a sweetie and smart too. came from a good home… my gremlins, not so smart, but they had a real tough life before i rescued them. pretty sure they came from a defunct puppy mill, as breeder’ s… they have been safe for 12 years now, and they are doing good. but so much damage had already been done…
went through some old pictures tonight looking for pictures of all of my gone beloved pet friends … i loved them so…
@snapster, @MEHcus, @ChadP, @Moose, @denboy, @shawn, @matthew
I am calling out your pets!
and @matthew if you post Glen I will cut you
@mfladd well, he’s gonna post his pet troll.
@capguncowboy Irk would put that sock-puppet down in a cage match.
@mfladd I have a cat and I don’t like cats so no proud pet picture here.
/giphy cats are the devil
@mfladd I have no pets. But here is me with a kitten.
@denboy Put aside your cat hate. You need to relax and post your cat. Cats are good.
@ChadP Ha! thanks for showing some pet/ceramic love!
I almost forgot @dave. Show us some pets!
@mfladd Here’s a pic of the her at her best, asleep in a basket leaving me alone.
@denboy hahaha - she is gorgeous! Thanks for posting.
@ChadP wait I didn’t have my glasses on (old man eyes), where did you get that kitten?
@mfladd …I…borrowed…it
@ChadP She looks good on you. Time to get one.
@cahuston wanted us to see her service dog Kensi. 5 yrs old and she thinks it is a Lab/Pyrenees mix.
Kensi is gorgeous. Even more so as a service dog!
cc: @Barney for purple
@mfladd Thanks for posting the picture for me. I get an error every time.
The picture was taken during a scout youth training in San Antonio. She is sitting in a field of bluebonnets.
@cahuston My pleasure. Seriously. She deserves recognition for her service.
@cahuston Aww, I love regal dogs who wear purple.
This is Oreo. He just matched the floor. (ok, I luv him soooo much)
This is Bella. With the crazy eyes.
She is a feral baby that was found almost dead in our backyard. She had ticks all over her and was left by her mother too soon. She has much love, but it is on her own terms.
More to come.
@mfladd Awww, so cute!
Chevy & Jetta pics taken today:
woof
@daveinwarsh They are awesome. Thanks for sharing your pup love.
Leila went to a pick-your-own farm in Buelton. She had a blast. Dad, me, went to Firestone Walker Barrel Works and Figueroa Mountain Brewery–I had a blast.
@connorbush She is a very pretty pup, with good taste in fruit. But making her carry the basket is just wrong.
@mfladd Ohh noo. Her mom carried the basket We rescued her a couple of months back! We won the puppy lottery. (I say puppy, she is 2 years old though!) Typical parent behaviour!
@connorbush Sounds like you liver fairly close to me. I am about an hour and a half from Buellton.
@conandlibrarian I live quite a ways south (2-3 hours) of Buelton. It was a crazy day trip which also included Solvang! SOOOooOoo, we might be close neighbors.
@connorbush I live south as well.
@conandlibrarian Hmm. That pings me to LA or Ventura county. I lived in each at one time or another.
@connorbush I live in Ventura County.
@conandlibrarian @connorbush you’re making me miss the central coast! Need to make a trip out soon. They started selling 805 randomly in Kroger and we always freak out and buy a ton of it.
@hollboll such a tasty brew
/giphy mmmm
@hollboll 805 is always my beer of choice. It is on tap everywhere here, and I love it!
I decided to post a pic of my rescue who passed away several years ago. His name was Joseph and he was the sweetest tiny Pom. He had alopecia hence the clothes. I have a pic of him somewhere in a Blues jersey…he was a hockey fan lol
@tinamarie1974 OMG. she is precious. Soory for your loss. But loved pups are happy pups even after passing.
@mfladd he was a sweet boy. Someone actually abused him, but I treated him like a prince the last 4 or 5 years of his life. I think he passed a happy baby
@tinamarie1974 Grrrrrrr. Who could ever abuse something so adorable? Makes me mad.
@tinamarie1974 I am so very glad he spent his remaining years with you. What a sweet looking guy
Cinco de mayo
@tinamarie1974 Ahhh…yo quiero taco bell, or Margaritas.
@mfladd I worked in Mexico for a stent, so yo quiero tequila
Crappy photo. But this is Jade being manhandled by my minions.
cc: @harrison
and my daughter just needs to stop growing up. STAUP!!! Stay little.
@mfladd The good news, she got your wife’s looks. The bad news,
She got your wife’s looks.
@mfladd O.M.G. Y’all are seriously good at making beautiful ‘minions’! Congrats
And enjoy every minute of them at this age (trust me on this; teenagers aren’t nearly as much fun).
@compunaut I’m scared.
@compunaut and thank you.
Jade was standing next to my trashcan. I walked up to him slowly expecting him to run. Nope. He just walked up to me. As soon as I brought him into the house my wife said “Oh shit, not another” We checked everywhere and no one had posted a missing cat. . He remains fearless of anything to this day.
@mfladd Those are some good looking kids! Adopted?
@capguncowboy I think they are mine. Does that count?
Bitch!!!
@compunaut @mfladd Take heart, my teenager is the best thing about so many of my days.
@mfladd
@mfladd If you need an extra shotgun, or just someone to clean their gun around the boys when that time comes, let me know…lol…I truly feel sorry for you cause she is gorgeous. I would feel sorry for other people’s daughters, except I know you’re raising your son to be a gentleman. Others are not…hence the offer to scare her boyfriends straight.
@mehbee The offer is appreciated. Thank you. I think as a dad I am just more protective of my daughter - I don’t even want to see a boyfriend come to the door (in the future).
@mfladd so cute!
I have lots of doggies. Between family members getting them and not being able to keep’em and living on a dirt road in the country, we stay pretty full at the inn.
![Gus, or Grumble Gus…well because he grumbles][2]
![Annie, who does NOT like her picture taken][3]

![Rosie is my nephew’s dog who is staying with us temporarily…she wasn’t spoiled when she came to live here…oops!][7]
![Papi is out little guy. He likes everyone but he is definitely MY dog. He loves his mama!][8]
This is Trinity…she stays pouty!

Rosie is staying with us until my nephew buys a house. She wasn’t spoiled when she came to stay with us…oops!
[8]:
Papi is our little guy. He likes everyone but he is MY dog…and has me wrapped around all four of his paws!
I’ll have to post pics of my two horses and my turtle later.
@mehbee Oh lord, so much doginess. I should have known you would have so much pet love.
@mfladd Animals are better than some humans…lol…not all but some.
Not sure why the captions didn’t show the first time on my post above, so I edited and added them, reposted and now they are there twice but the first ones are clumped together…sorry!
This is Malcolm who we lost last year. I still think of him everyday. He was a sweet, huggable, ball playing obsessed, scared of the thunder, tattletale, special boy. He was(is) my baby bear…he loved it when he made me laugh…I love ya, Malcolm!
@mehbee Condolences on your loss. But as I have said before, if they were loved they know it in passing. Malcom know this.
“knew” I need to take my ass back to typing school.
@mehbee nothing like having a fur baby fall asleep on or near you.
@mfladd I agree and I have peace because I know he had a cushy life!
@cahuston Isn’t it the best! He was feeling down that day and the only thing that made him happy was getting the couch with daddy and snuggling. When he was done with his nap, he got down and was a happy camper again.
Here is the part 1 of this thread
Click here
No pet yet, but the goal is to get a cat around Christmas. I will have a few weeks off, which will help the two (or three) of us get aquainted. For some reason, I feel like getting two, as I do not the little guy to be lonely while I am at work.
@conandlibrarian And then post them. They are soothing to the soul. And I know you will love them so much.
@conandlibrarian Hey dummy, you left a word out! You forgot “want” in the last sentence.
@conandlibrarian You need to be nicer to yourself, bitch. Grammar shit happens. We care only for the meaning of your post.
@conandlibrarian Yeah, I got a cat. Then I felt he was lonely, so I got him a cat.
This is Cookie. This picture about sums up her happy-go-lucky personality.
Here she is all grown up with her big sister, Daisy. Momma had steak and I think they really wanted some too
This is Harvey. A sweet cat that we saved from being a stray. He looks sweet and loves to be petted and rubbed, but he’s a fierce hunter. He brings us treasures almost every day
This is Finn. We saved him from a shelter. He’s our super-friendly cat. He likes to jump on people’s shoulders. He likes to hunt, but normally just plays with the critter until he gets bored with it, then lets it go. Sometimes he gives them to Cookie.
This is Huck. He was another rescue kitty. Somehow found his way into the ventilation system at a local University. We got him from a local vet, where he had been bottle fed. He’s the most docile cat I’ve ever known. He is literally a rag doll and spent his first year with us being carried around by my two daughters. He is also dumber than a bucket of bricks, but that’s part of what makes him so cute.
I’ve got more pets, but I can’t seem to find any pictures. Maybe I’ll take some more tomorrow. Probably not…
@capguncowboy Yes you will, because otherwise I will beat you. I love your pet posts.
You have so many pets - which I love. It makes me sad I will have to own you in fantasy football.
And is that your daughter? Because she is gorgeous, my friend. Keep the shotgun close. Damn boys.
@mfladd yeah, that’s one of them anyway. My shotgun is always within a few steps.
I’ve got some good lookin’ kids. They take after their momma
This is our youngest, Molly, on her first day of Kindergarten
This Anna on her first day of second grade, my Daniel on his first day of 3rd grade
I found this picture of my wife’s cat, Dot. She’s 10 years old now, but still looks and acts like a kitten. She has the softest fur of any cat I’ve ever seen. It’s like rabbit fur. She also takes the stinkiest dumps I’ve ever smelled.
Found another one. This is Vanellope – another rescue kitty. She’s about a year old now. She’s the laziest cat of all time. Eat and sleep. I’m kinda’ jealous
Here she is chillin’ with Dot
@capguncowboy Ahhhhhh. thanks so much for the kid pics. Daniel, Anna, and Molly are so awesome. Dot is also great (does not look 10). And how could you not love a kid that says “hello, Lysol”
@capguncowboy Gold, and you know it.
@capguncowboy This is one household overflowing with love and fun! Gorgeous kids, lovable pets and your descriptions of each were great…
Here is a collage of our unknown mix rescue Giselle (including a pic of the wife and I):
And then a Prisma-edited picture of the pup’s goofy face:
@presbypenguin Cute puppy! She looks a lot like my brother’s Boxer mix
@presbypenguin Than you for that collage That last pic has Scooby-Doo written all over him.
p.s. you are a handsome/beautiful couple.
@presbypenguin “her” - sorry.
We adopted Tinker in 2002 from a kill shelter. He was awesome. Unfortunately he left us in 2009. He had Cushings disease and a few other things we managed for as long as we could.
@tinkertime So much awesomeness. Sorry for the loss, but you did good. That is one handsome pup you saved.
p.s. He was ready for a rap battle!
Our guinea pig Sundae:
My daughter has discovered a budding interest in photography and will do photo shoots with Sundae occassionally.
https://www.facebook.com/EverybodyLovesSundae/
@mediobarkre Our first GP! So cute. Daughter/pet love I know. Thanks for the link! Sundae is awesome!
Kaiser Roll was a rescue. He was fierce and strong and stubbrn and funny.
Rosie was a sweetheart but lazy. She loved her naps. She figured out how to put herself to bed and would stay there for hours.
Maggie on the left and Bella on the right when the movers were picking up the household for the move from Florida to Colorado.
Bella is my baby. She was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension last year after getting altitude sickness during our yearly trip to the mountains. She is doing a lot better than her cardiologist expected (as in, she’s still alive).
So, if you’ll indulge me…
Being a model:
Eating her favorite food:
Her first snow!
Stomach upset during the long move led to doggie diapers. Doggy diapers are a thing, guys.
@emilyap Kaiser’s a little cougar! Dead ringer!
@PocketBrain My god, he sure thought he was a cougar. He was the strongest cat I’ve ever had - he’d try to bite my hand and grip my wrist between his paws, holding on while I lifted him off the ground and swung him back and forth.
Big - twenty pounds of (mostly) muscle.
Stubborn.
Bella adored him. When Kaiser got tired of playing with her, he’d just lie down on her head.
@emilyap Thank you for those pics. Kaiser is such a cougar. I am glad Bella is doing we because she fucking adorable. Also much love for Maggie and Rosie!
“we” should be “well”
@emilyap I had a cat like that - grip you around the wrist and could pick up that way and do all sorts of things. Never put a mark on me when I did that either. Pure muscle.
This is Lacey, my tripod! She is a 9 year old retired racing dog (leg was lost to cancer, not a racing accident) who lives to chase rabbits. She is the first dog I’ve had that is actually “mine” and she is pretty amazing, but I might be a bit biased. Best decision I’ve made was adopting an older dog like her!
@kwhittle Ahhhhhhh! Lacey is awesome! Thank you for the adoption pet. I can’t tell you how much I love this post.
A couple more Chevy & Jetta pics.
Chevy during harder times-
Snow dogs-
A damn cat that my wife likes, I just call it Damn Cat-
@daveinwarsh What? you are putting your dog out with a Bakon sign? Love it! Snow dogs are awesome. And give that “Damn Cat” some love!
@mfladd I thought Chevy should go out and earn his own way. It was a failure as he fell asleep before I could find a street corner for him.
As for the damn cat… I tolerate it. My wife likes it so, that’s that. It never does what it should do & screams if it can see any part of the bottom of it’s damn cat dish.
And again in Part Deux - Pets. You people have posted amazing animals that you love. I give you thanks because my kids love your posts. All I hear is “no, go back. Wait, scroll up again.” And if you entertain my children I will always have your back. Thanks for the posts.
(don’t ask - I am just a freak.)
@mfladd entertain your children? Dot was a really cute cat. I was dead-set on not getting any more pets until we bought a house, but my wife brought me Dot and how could I resist??!?
We had another cat at the time, Wooleybooger. He was a few months older than her. He passed a few years ago, but he and Dot were inseparable.
They’d sit for hours and watch the fish swim. Neither of them ever attempted to get the fish out though, which is pretty impressive.
Wooleybooger weighed a massive 24 lbs in his prime. He was fully declawed and was still a terror to anything he didn’t like, which was pretty much everything. He was literally the monster that lived under my bed, which was only a measley 3-1/2" off the floor. He would lay flat on his belly and wiggle left and right until he had squeezed under. He only came out at night or when it was deathly quiet in the house. He was always my favorite cat because of his independent “fuck you” attitude. I miss my bud.
@capguncowboy Yes (entertain my children)! The kids love these pet pics. Oh lord,
I can not even tell you how much I love that pic.
And fish too. You are a good pet man, Cap. Respect.
Dot rocks!
And condolences to WB - anytime we lose a friend it is hard.
@capguncowboy, I second @mfladd. That’s one of the cutest photos ever. Love, love, love.
@capguncowboy Are you, by chance, an Alabama boy? The name “Wooleybooger” makes me ask this. My paternal lineage goes back to pre-war of independence days in Alabama, and I spent many of my formative years in the northwest corner of the state, as did my wife. We now reside just east of Nashville TN, but visit her family often in Florence, Huntsville, and Skyline.
@Lurker Nope, east Tennessee, born and raised (Bristol area).
Wooleybooger was a name I got from a joke I heard as a kid
My father in law lives in Mentone, just south of Chattanooga, but he’s a transplant from the SF Bay area of California. I think they moved there in the late 90s
@capguncowboy yes fish - cat TV. When my kid went through a fish phase is when I learned that goldfish travel in packs, interact with the world outside of the fish tank, would aggravate the cats likely on purpose, were actually very smart and could live 20 years and get huge if you didn’t kill them in too small a tank (we gave ours away when she was doing with that phase, I found them more work than cats).
@Kidsandliz Yes, aquariums can consume a lot of time and take a lot of work. I had a UV sterilizer on my setup and that helped. Half water-changes every month, check the chemicals, add PH buffer to it, etc.
It’s expensive too. I had African Cichlids, and the food wasn’t cheap, the sand wasn’t cheap, the fish were cheap if you bought small ones, but then the big fish would eat them, so you had to spend to get the big ones. I ended up breeding my cichlids and selling them to a local store in exchange for store credit, so it ended up paying for itself after a while.
Once I got to where I wasn’t cleaning the tank as regularly as I needed to, I sold it. If you’re not going to keep it clean, it’s just gross and makes your house stink. I miss it sometimes, but I don’t think I’d do it again. Maybe. Probably. Yeah, I’d do it again, just not right now.
Both rescues, dog on the left was beaten repeatedly by his previous owner with a frying pan. Love animals, hate people.
@Afraxin Tell us more about them. So much dog luv.
@mfladd Odin’s a neurotic ACD who thinks he’s a lap dog. Freya’s a mutt who thinks she pays the mortgage, and based on what we paid for her two leg surgeries she might as well be the mortgage.
@Afraxin But you know you have done good. They luv you for it. May you have many more years with those adorable pups.
Meet my snail, Fluffy. I thought he was happy to see me but it turns out water snails have snorkels. I love the internet.
@sammydog01 Ahhhhh…first snail. I love the when people post different pets.
@mfladd He’s a lot of fun. Way more fun than those turtle assholes.
@sammydog01
Be nice to the turtles!!!
@sammydog01 Mystery snail? We had some of those in our aquarium and the damn things bread like rabbits. We had about 20 of them when I got rid of the tank a few months ago. They kept it nice and clean though, so no complaints!
@capguncowboy The sign said gold inca snail. I only have one so hopefully no babies. Although I once had a friend who sold his baby mystery snails to pet shops.
These are my turtles. They don’t have names. I have had them for 25 years. I’m pretty sure they would murder me in my sleep if they could get out of the tank and hold a knife. Don’t ever get turtles.
0
@sammydog01 So much love for this post. Don’t have names? WTF?? If you didn’t name me I would cut you too!
Ya goat!
@mfladd
@sammydog01 Hahahahaha! Come at me, sis!
@sammydog01 p.s. I am still laughing over that post. Those turtles look seriously pissed off. Give them a treat, or something.
Well, we have a lot, so I won’t post them all, maybe eventually, but we did get a little girl kitty. Who is very obviously deaf.
I’ve picked her up a couple of times today and she wasn’t happy about the lift, but loved the smurgle.
From my blog entry - with pictures on the 13th:
Elena (a vet tech) takes me back to where the little kitty is. She’s so small…Elena opens the door to the cage, I start to pet her. I can feel bones, her hip bones are prominent. I put a little of the kibble that’s in a bowl next to her in front of her. She starts to eat it. She purrs for me…my heart melts.
And I get more of the story. It seems she was living in a neighborhood and some people took pity on her and decided to take her in. First off was to the vet’s office. The vet didn’t charge for eighty percent of what they did for this little kitty. Disease tests, blood tests, a bath to get rid of all the fleas, parasite treatment, trimmed off all of her mats (she’s a short haired kitty). The new owners call to see how everything went. She’s all good, there’s nothing really wrong with her. “How old do you think she is?” About thirteen. “Oh. Well. I wish you’d have told me that to begin with, we’d just have her put to sleep.”
Crickets.
So, instead of animal control, Charlene says “call Dianne”. The vet asks later “have you called Dianne yet?” Shannon is reluctant because of Smokey, the cat who stayed there for over a month because they were waiting for results for a definitive FeLV test that had been sent out to a lab. In the meantime, Charlene’s aunt said she’d take him. But for the sake of this little scrawny girl cat, she made the call.
@lisaviolet Scrawny is certainly an understatement. Hope she survives that without fatty liver.
@Kidsandliz I was told she was emaciated. Yeah, I’d have to agree. She eats, though, and drinks a lot of water. I’m curious to know her kidney values.
When we’ve had cats that drink as much as she does, the cat usually has kidney problems. She is putting on weight, not much, but she’s filling out.
This is Blackie.
We were fostering his mother, Grace, an Australian cattle dog (“Blue Heeler”) supposedly rescued from life at a dog-fighting compound.
On the night the Dallas Mavericks won their only NBA championship (June 12, 2011), Grace gave birth to 9 puppies. We spent all summer finding forever homes for all the dogs; we ended up keeping Blackie because the kids got so attached.
@compunaut I can see why- that face is precious.
Another picture of Tigger and Zig-Zag (Ziggy). Both have since passed.
Tigger was named by his previous family; we traded an unused 10-gallon fish tank. Ziggy was named Zig-Zag because he had a bent tail (think: Pikachu) which was much less noticeable when he porked up in later years! When we introduced Tigger to the family, he and Ziggy became fast friends. I read that it takes a month or two for the critters to get accustomed to each other sometimes; they were playing well together the next day. Best of buddies, click and clack, peas and corn, thick as thieves.
This is Maximo. He loved sleeping on the dirt so his white fur was always dirty
My current two, Rocco and Harriet (Rocky and Hattie).
Also, this from when I visited my brother and they decided to hide in the porch.
georgia had to get a haircut… she is much cuter fluffy!!! but she is a puppy and kept getting pee on her back legs fur… so haircut! lol
she is full of energy and pretty much torments the old gremlins trying to get them to play, ummm they don’t wanna… she chases the cats too… they are being really tolerant, still teaching her kindly manners, but not slicing her face to bits!! very good kitty’s… all that energy, and this is how she eats her food!!!
couple cats, for @mfladd kids!!
whitesty, he showed up in my garage winter of 2008??? said if he stuck around come summer, i’d fix him and shots and stuff… we lived on a dead end road, in the sticks. lots of cats showed up in the garage seeking shelter in the middle of winter. i fed them and stuff of course… whitesty, was the only one who stuck around… he was kinda prickly. after some arguments, we came to an agreement!! lol
he needed a haircut too!
this is okie pokie, he is a scaredy cat!!!
this one is inky (short for stinky) cause his farts were horrific!! he was just about dead, so sick he was with upper respiratory… when crazy lady a (feral female) brought him to me. she brought me many sick kittens… i have too many cat stories. it’s making me sad… i’m going to stop for now…
inky loves any box!! he’s funny!!
i have more cats too… i need to take some more pictures!!!
