@Pavlov@Mehrocco I missed the woot dustup apparently but holy wow did these forums blow up after the last time they sold this. Well, OK one person blew up but yeah, that was epic
@Bingo no that's not true. Different products. These look super safe. No rattles inside, no hard plastic. Those innards are just little squishy plastic air squeakys that are pretty much in EVERY dog toy now. The deconstruction was super helpful in that photo.
@lichme That was my first thought when I saw these at rollover. I hope that this time around, people use common sense. If not, I'll have popcorn and some gifs ready.
@lichme Toys with rattles are fine for many dogs. Know your dog, monitor how they play with any given toy you give them and then use common sense to decide whether it's an appropriate toy for your dog.
@JonT Almost. We have to wait 24 hours to see something different [from this item]. Unless we go with a flexible definition of "new". New isn't always a guarantee.
@christinewas By that reasoning, we would need a pretty flexible definiton of 'different' too, because how many times have they tried to pawn off those speaker docks on us?
Yay! Thanks for poking fun of something that shall remain semi-unmentioned. Also, I'm in for this deal (passed on prior ones) because it doesn't have things that I don't feel are safe for MY dogs. Kind of how this pet toy buying thing works....
@Bluedragon07 my thoughts exactly. One of my cats LOVES a stuffed raccoon dog toy that we ended up with somehow but the other two need cat toys. Help a girl out here, meh
Thank you for the deconstruction meh - it's honestly super helpful. At $2 a toy, it's hard to pass this up! Do need to know though - is the chicken mask included for scaring the dogs?
Buying toys for pets is like buying toys for small children. They will probably enjoy playing with random things they find around the house far more. Of course in both cases you probably don't want them playing with what they find......
We had to put down our nearly 15-year-old lab last week, so I was thinking this might have been too soon, but then I realized that: a. This is Meh. Smartpost shipping. b. My wife is already looking through the local shelter websites for the next dog
@TaRDy yeah I think they were screwing things up so they were removed a while ago, I'd like to have that functionality back if for no other reason than to mess with people. Then again, @snapster is a notorious hater of people whining about spoilers.
Perfect for puggle-chihuahua tug-o-war...bought two sets...cant wait for the thunderdome...one toy enters and several pieces leave! The Boomarangs look good for hitting annoying neighborhood kids from a distance...hope theyre as deadly and accurate as the little furry kid's from mad max...will report findings...
@klickster68 my dogs only play tug-o-war also and they only like soft toys with squeakers.... I need cheap toys like these so they don't use dirty clothes
Last Chinese dog toys I got at Meh included some really plastic smelling stuff that seemed to have come direct from the oil refinery via the slag reclamation facility. No shame on Meh, but they did not make me comfortable.
I am thinking that those meh t-shirts I have (which are very comfortable and nice) might be safer and preferable if rolled up properly.
@dude Be careful, you're teaching your dog to chew on your shirts. Which they will probably love, but if they ever get hold of a shirt you don't WANT them to destroy...you can't really scold them or get upset, can you?
I think of this every time I find a big hole in a sock...just give it to the dog..but then I remember that he tries to steal "good" socks all the time, and talk myself out of it.
@Goshdarnit Yea, i get it, but if you're so smart mister catnip, why don't you use some bigger words, or at least smell the small ones correctly, yuk yuk
I don't want to buy things from China. The same China that poisoned dog and cat food. Has everyone forgotten how their infant formula, baby formula was fake and did not provide the proper nutrition for infants? Babies were sick and some died. Does no one remember this but me?
@mick Chinese folks sure do recall the baby formula thing. Hong Kong had to put a 2-can limit on mainland visitors trying to get a safe supply because Hong Kongers' supply kept drying up. Limit still in place today.
We nearly lost our 2 shelties to poisoning by dog food made in the US several years ago. I never give them food or treats from China and would find it hard to give them toys that I know were made in China.
I opted not to include a picture because almost every picture Google gave me was of some sort of skin malady. But I bought these because so far my new Chihuahua only has 1 chew toy: my fingers.
my dog doesn't even understand toys. He's never been able to figure out that something belongs to him. 13 years old, we've had him for 10, and i've never been able to get him to play with anything. it's annoying. :(
Received last week, dog very happy. Seemed to know the box was for her, even though there weren't treats in it.
Throw stick: got a meh from her, but she's not much one for fetch.
Tuff Tiger: she was so excited about this, new favorite. Revenge on our kittehs who snub her, perhaps. True to its name, this tiger is still intact a week later.
Blue pizza: I thought this would get demolished in 3 seconds, but surprisingly it has only lost 1 squeaker and a little fluff in a week. Still recognizable as blue pizza.
Boodah squirrel: holding in reserve until other toys demolished, as I know she likes this type.
@andipandi I think the way the pizza is made is pretty clever as mine have ripped theirs but all the stuffing isn't out and the squeakers are still in place. I was also impressed by the tuff ones. I got 3 sets and sat the box on the floor to see what they did and by the end of the evening all the toys were strewn about the living room except the 3 retriever sticks, they didn't even pick them up haha
Reporting in: my dog loved all of her new toys (except for the throw stick, but she's a Chihuahua. It weighs as much as her.) Nothing's ripped up yet, but she's usually fairly gentle on toys. Definitely happy with this purchase!

PSA: Don't give your dog toys they might be able to choke on, like ones with plastic rattles.
@lichme Like the ones at Woot? Wow did the forums flame on over that one.
@lichme God help us all if these also contain small parts . . . .
@Mehrocco_Mole I meant more like this one: https://meh.com/forum/topics/beware--serious-dog-toy-safety-problem-in-recent-meh-offer
@Pavlov @Mehrocco I missed the woot dustup apparently but holy wow did these forums blow up after the last time they sold this. Well, OK one person blew up but yeah, that was epic

@Bingo . . . more than one of us blew up.
:-)
But yes . . . Epic.
The last time these were an issue on the forum, Leonard Nimoy died.
I wonder who is next . . . If a celebrity dies every time these are offered, my Abe Vigoda thread has a chance of changing sooner than later . . .
Even my dog says Meh.
@mbills2223 Lol
If I don't give my dog a toy to chew he'll find something I don't want him to chew, gotta get them something to annihilate.
Lame. Now we have to wait 24 hours to see something good?
@mcemanuel not necessarily, you just have to wait 24 hours to see something new.
@JonT So true!
So, when are you selling that bitchin' chicken head?
Dog toys aren't for chickens.
My 140lb golden would rip these apart in 3 Mehnits.
Yay! Thanks for poking fun of something that shall remain semi-unmentioned. Also, I'm in for this deal (passed on prior ones) because it doesn't have things that I don't feel are safe for MY dogs. Kind of how this pet toy buying thing works....
Where are the cat toy bundles? :(
Agreed. Cat sayin meheow on these.
@Bluedragon07 Good question. I'm fairly sure my cat wouldn't like any of these.
@Bluedragon07 Yeppers, that is the question. ANOTHER doggie package, & still the kitties sit & wait. & sharpen their claws.
@Bluedragon07 I second this! my kitty needs new toys!
@Bluedragon07 my thoughts exactly. One of my cats LOVES a stuffed raccoon dog toy that we ended up with somehow but the other two need cat toys. Help a girl out here, meh
@Bluedragon07 The dogs ate them.
@Bluedragon07 the cat toys are in the same box as the AAA batteries
Thank you for the deconstruction meh - it's honestly super helpful. At $2 a toy, it's hard to pass this up! Do need to know though - is the chicken mask included for scaring the dogs?
My 2 pups love the Booda skins. In for 2 just for those alone!
malleable-gruntled-mulberry
(My gf's dog will likely like these... or not.)
Will these work with little human males?
@chaynie
That pizza looks so realistic!
@awk Maybe if you microwave it.....
Buying toys for pets is like buying toys for small children. They will probably enjoy playing with random things they find around the house far more. Of course in both cases you probably don't want them playing with what they find......
We had to put down our nearly 15-year-old lab last week, so I was thinking this might have been too soon, but then I realized that:
a. This is Meh. Smartpost shipping.
b. My wife is already looking through the local shelter websites for the next dog
So the timing is perfect. In for one.
@escapecar So sorry for the loss of your friend.
@gertiestn Thanks. She was a great dog, except for all those times she chewed through the fence.
@escapecar her meh username was @escapedog
@escapecar I have had to "put to sleep" many of my animal companions. It hurts like a son of bitch. I am sorry you don't have your friend anymore.
I particularly enjoyed the 6th sense plot twist at the end of the writeup...he was a dog the whole time
@TaRDy
@TaRDy I was thinking Fight Club but yeah.
@TaRDy I see dog people.
@JonT I looked for spoiler tags in the how to post good thread, but me thinks they were removed.
@TaRDy yeah I think they were screwing things up so they were removed a while ago, I'd like to have that functionality back if for no other reason than to mess with people. Then again, @snapster is a notorious hater of people whining about spoilers.
@JonT When I have a media room that costs more than I've made in the last 10 years, I'll probably hate that too.
I don't always click on the meh button, but when I do, it's dog toys.
Maybe my 5th click ever.
@alacrity That's one old looking hand
I would buy these things for my kids, but it says it's for dogs. Big mistake Meh, big mistake. I'm out.
Nice, but from the looks, each would only last a night with my land shark.
dispensable-auburn-basket
Arf arf, sniff sniff. The snifflehounds at the NSA will be all over these....

Ever watch old SNL with Acroyd? Maimway industries probably made these...like Bag-o-Glass, etc...
@dude

What about feline toys? Huh?
@dmlivezey I am a cat, and I am way to smart for "toys".
@Goshdarnit Yea, i get it, but if you're so smart mister catnip, why don't you use some bigger words, or at least smell the small ones correctly, yuk yuk
@dmlivezey I hate it when I smell words incorrectly.
next time you guys go and Rob a dollar store discount bin, please get something useful like out of date Snickers bars or flat soda... this sucks

@mick I understand where you're coming from, but I bet you handle and use many, many things every day that are made in China.
@JonT The difference is that some people don't eat or let their pets eat or chew on anything made in China.
No dogs here. I'd buy cat toys probably.
My personal rule: Don't buy items from China that go in mouths (human or otherwise)
We nearly lost our 2 shelties to poisoning by dog food made in the US several years ago. I never give them food or treats from China and would find it hard to give them toys that I know were made in China.
@Stumpy91 You give your Shetland Ponies dog toys?

In for 1.... bald-rabid-laugh
My first comment! Sadly, it's super lame because I don't know how to post pictures.

Mine came the other day, the granddog should turn it to fuzz in an afternoon when he arrives next month.
