A great watch at a great price. I'd buy one if I didn't have an Apple Watch already. This at $90 is much better than the Meta M1 sold at $48 previously.
@akumax Yeah, I got mine from Cowboom as well. Less than half price for a 42mm gold/midnight blue sport model was too good to pass up. The description said used but I couldn't tell.
I had a pebble time round but switched to the Pebble Time for battery life. While there is no touch screen you can change tracks when listening to music, can pause music/audiobook and reply to text/messages using voice. It is a good smart watch and if you are unsure if a smart watch would be right for you a Pebble or Pebble Time is a great way to test the waters.
@thismyusername It'd be $50 if it was as unpopular as the Meta M1 sold previously. A 30% discount off the Amazon price for something so popular as the Pebble Time is a deal for sure.
Yep, had the original pebble and now have the pebble time steel. Great smartwatch, this is a fantastic price. No need for a third tho. Pebble is good with updates and bug fixes.
Bought the original Pebble for $85 new about a year ago and the only thing I didn't like was the shiny bezel and plastic screen, both of which ended up covered. This looks like a worthy upgrade.
Awesome for quickly checking messages in a work environment that prohibits cell phones from being visible.
As a current OG pebble owner. I bought one. It's 60$ cheaper than anywhere else and it's the same price as my e-ink(6bit color one) if you have ever thought about getting a smart watch, just do it!
Man I am wearing my black time right now. It's almost tempting to get a second one just in case this one breaks or the battery starts dying.
The thing is pretty awesome for quickly checking the outside temp and texts at a glance. Leads to some weird situations where people think you want to leave right away when you are just glancing at emails or texts during a meeting though.
@bph i had trouble with my screen glitching. Pebble asked me to take a couple pictures and sent me a replacement, no questions asked... But I bought one today anyway hahaha
@justan79 unlike previous watches at meh *cough meta*, I will say that pebbles are pretty nice smart watches... and are STILL updated regularly... even the original black and white pebbles are getting updates and features.
Oh no. I've wanted one of these since they existed. If this sale had gone up three weeks ago I would have bought it immediately. Since then I've calculated how much I'm paying the IRS this year. Now I can't. :(.
Hey everybody, these are bad, don't buy them, it would really suck to see this item again in four months.
Price seems maybe a bit high for what it does, innit? I'd rather have the LG Urbane, but can't justify the spend. This one though... doesn't seem to do much more than my $15 Meta.
@ruouttaurmind It's really one of those things you have to try in order to understand the difference. The Pebble is on a completely different level than the Meta. It just does almost everything you'd want it to, and does it all really really well.
I love my pebble time. Unfortunately I'm on iOS. One of the main reasons I bought this was because I wanted to be able to do voice control to type stuff. Even though there are constantly updates, which I love about pebble, you still can't use the voice recognition fully with things like Siri or dictation in text messages or anything that directly interact with your phone or tablet. I can still take voice memos on my pebble time, however you can't review them on your iOS device you can only review them on the watch itself. I tried all the features with my Android phone and it's a perfect match. If you want to be critical, the screen does have a lot of glare. Are usually don't mind glare on screens at all, but I think it might be extra important on a watch to minimize that glare if you are counting on reflected light to see the face. I live in the desert so I love that this is bright and vibrant outside because it's color e-ink. I also love that I can go swimming with it and shower. But probably the number one thing that I love about this watch is that I don't have to charge it every day. I've even gone a solid week without charging it while on vacation by just managing the notification a little more and turning it off at night. I go to Starbucks relatively frequently so I have an app that lets me display my Starbucks card. It's on a fast access type button. On my second fast access button I have a countdown timer that I use between sets when working out. It's really useful to not have to turn on or look at my phone for notifications especially when I am working out, but it's not like I could go mine tire workout without having my phone nearby. You can't make phone calls on it because it doesn't have a speaker.
I bought two of these at $150 on kick starter. At $90 I would consider it if I didn't have one for sure. At $50 I would just buy quite a few for gifts for family members. At $25 I would buy as many as possible and just sell them to people when they talk to me about my watch.
@brhfl I think it's great generally but there is nothing you can use your voice for unless you are on ATT. Is there anything specific you are looking for it to do?
I got an original Pebble on deep discount but had one complaint. Somehow, somewhere I must have bumped into something that caused a huge ugly scratch across the watch face. Clearly it did not have Gorilla Glass if it can be seriously damaged with light use.
What's the story with this product? Will it scratch if you look at it too hard, like the original Pebble?
@sjk3 It looks like the watch face on the Time is still made of polycarbonate, which can be scratched if you knock it again something hard/sharp. IMHO, polycarbonate is a good choice - it's lightweight, strong, hard to break, and these non-touchscreen watches don't need touchscreen glass. But they can scratch.
However, a lot of scratches can be buffed out! My original Pebble is a "refurb," which I put into quotes because it was clear nothing had been done to refurbish it before sale. It was filthy, and, worse, the face had a number of scratches. I used Polywatch polishing paste and they came out easily. I've use the same paste on polycarbonate dumbwatches for years. The super-deep scratches will be minimized, even if there's still a trace.
I also recommend using a screen protector with any polycarbonate watch that you wear constantly. I've been using Gadgetwraps, but there are a number of brands. Bonus: the screen protectors further hide any scratch damage!
Backed the steel version of this. Good watch. The health app is basic but serves its purpose. Nice to see hangouts messages at work without having to take phone out.
In for one (because you won't let me be in for two)!
I own the original Pebble and have loved it. No, it's not an [insert name of fancier watch here], but I'm amazed at how many things it can do - and do well. It's not simple like a Meta or a Martian, it's got loads of functionality in that unassuming exterior.
I wish some of the features meshed better with iOS, but that's Apple's doing and not Pebble's. When the Time came out, I knew that I'd eventually upgrade for the color screen, more streamlined profile, and basically unlimited app loading. I'm glad I held out until this deal!!
I wanna be one of the cool kids with a cool watch, but I still haven't set up the Martian I bought late last year... Or the Meta I bought early last year... I gotta stop chasing bad meh with good money!
I have the Pebble Classic, and love it. All the right stuff with none of the silliness. For example, I have no need to make calls on my wrist, but I do like to adjust the music and keep track of tennis match scoring. The physical buttons are excellent.
And their customer service is excellent. My Classic had screen rendering issues at ~2 years out and I wrote to CS on the off chance that they might think about fixing it. Boom, new watch.
And there are more apps for this than you would think, although my footprint is small that way. I use a timer, Misfit for activity, TennisPro for Scoring. And incidentally, there are no other tennis scoring apps I could find. I looked at Samsung and also MS. No love for Apple from me, just don't have their whole ecosystems, so no need.
No GPS, but I really don't care, I'll get the HR band if it works.
@mehvermore I've had the opposite experienc. I have screen rendering issues on my Pebble Steel and CS refuses to help me beyond a coupon for 25% off regular price. That's just insulting since you can regularly find Pebbles on sale for less than that. As far as I'm concerned, I'd rather take $90 and spend it on strippers than give any more money to Pebble.
They choose to display one single screen on the phone over several pictures with no clue as to what the other screens look like or if there's different watch faces...
I wouldn't buy this. I have a $10 watch with a 10 year old battery that still tells the time just fine at least twice a day. And I'm pretty sure both watches would score equally on an I.Q. test.
I would pass on these. I pre-ordered the Pebble Steel at as soon as it was announced at $250. I had connectivity issues from Day 1, but I just chalked it up to Bluetooth issues and shelved the watch for a while and went back to a traditional. About a year and a half later I started wearing it again, and after a few months I started seeing screen corruption whenever a message would come through. Unfortunately the watch only has a 1 year warranty, so the best Pebble would do is offer me a 25% off coupon.
I wouldn't waste any more money on this company with crap quality like that. Biggest waste of $250 I've ever spent.
@mehvermore Unfortunately, I did perform a factory reset before even contacting them. I then contacted support, sent screenshots, and the pictures requested. They still denied my warranty claim and just offered me the coupon. This all happened a few weeks ago. In full disclosure, I dragged my feet on getting the support request started since I already knew that the watch was out of warranty. It was actually more than 2 years after purchase by the time I got the request in. I wish I had just contacted them immediately when the problem first started last year in July, but the screen issues were only sporadic at that time. It wasn't until later that they were constant.
I happen to really like my Meta M1 I got here. It is fantastic for skiing and giving training as in both cases I can check if something is important without pulling out my phone every time. I really want to get one of these but I guess I'll wait until IOS version xxxx breaks my Meta M1
@grmeyer How much do you use it though? I think people get less because most people buying them are power users that try to get the most out of it. I'm sure if you didn't touch it, it would last quite a while.
I would totally go for it, but there is limited compatibility with iOS. You can't even reply to text message via the watch unless you have an AT&T contract. I want one, but not till I feel the price is worth the limited functionality, or the functionality matches the price.
@Chronoscide You're the second person to mention AT&T-exclusive functionality. I don't doubt this at all, but… why? Is it some exclusivity deal between AT&T and Apple? AT&T and Pebble? Is there a technical reason? Seems odd.
@Chronoscide With my original pebble, once I set the permissions, the pebble application connected with the default message application on my S4 to send and receive texts, so I'm not sure how the phone network would make a difference.
@AdmiralDave Android is certainly more flexible in that way.
So I found the answer - since iOS doesn't support interacting with the Messages app in this way, AT&T has provisions in place to handle SMS via their own servers for this purpose.
@mae456rn I watched linustechtips review of the watch. He did a sponsor spot for dbrand and I went to check and they have a ton of colors and you can pick different colors for the buttons, front face edge (idk what else to call this), etc.
Can this be used as a running watch? I am looking through the Amazon reviews but some of the answers aren't clear. Someone said you could use it for turn by turn GPS as long as the phone paired with it had an app installed. Does that mean if I had RunKeeper installed on my phone the watch would display current speed and distance?
@Arnth Yeah, I'm stoked. Wondering how much longer I'll have to wait. I'm not a regular Meh-er, so is this normal for processing to take so long before shipment?
@Arnth Mine is stuck on processing too. :( As I understand it, Meh usually ships the next business day, which would have been Monday/Tuesday. Wondering if the item is already out in the mail, just no tracking info yet. From the FAQ "A: We wait until the day after the event ends to print the shipping labels, and sometimes if it's busy it can be two or three days (not counting weekends, because we don't ship on weekends). Once it ships, we'll throw a tracking number on your orders page at https://meh.com/orders (Enough people have asked for a tracking email that we'll probably do that, but we're not there yet.)"
Per the item, the delivery says 3/28-3/30. Since it will probably be smartpost then I am guessing that they should go out soon. I hope they get sent nlt tomorrow. Otherwise it won't meet the 3/30 date for me.
How do they calculate tax on this purchase? Tax in my area is 8% and they charged me $104.03, does not compute. $90 for the product + $5 for shipping + $7.20 for tax = $102.20 not $104.03.
@blackcilantro click on your orders page, then under the order in question click on the "I need help with this" button and ask there for the best results.
Asking in here and you are bound to get a snarky reply like...
"they charged you a 1.8% soapy flavor surcharge*"
cause you know, some of us are jokers.
*I like cilantro but but I'm not in the 20% or so that have that soapy cilantro gene.
2 days to go 1700 miles, then a day and a half to go 53 miles. (12 miles past my house) next it will transfer to usps, then get sent to another town, sort and then to my city, sort, then to my route and hopefully out the day after that. Meh needs to move closer to MA.
At 1 pm Friday it arrived 2.5 hours away. As of 4 pm Monday, it has not moved. FedEx SnailPost FTW! I thought the original delivery date of Wednesday was overly pessimistic, but now I think it is going to be accurate.
@sjk3 As of Tuesday morning, the package moved from one side of the FedEx building to the other. The scheduled delivery date has been pushed back to Thursday. Yay FedEx SnailPost!

Where have I been ?
Would you look at the time?!!
@CrossIT
Indeed.
@stoopkid
A what? For how much?
"Watch " out us this a flintstones watch-- where is bam bam since pebbles is mentioned ??
@AttyVette
What watch? Such watch!
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Th0G8rkhBqg
@AttyVette Trying way too hard.
What for serious?
Meh. The MetaWatch that I got from you guys last year, for 1/6th the price of this, is still good enough.
@lljk Exactly! I'll come back for this one when it's like, $40.
@lljk I own this watch, it does not compare to the Metawatch.
A great watch at a great price. I'd buy one if I didn't have an Apple Watch already. This at $90 is much better than the Meta M1 sold at $48 previously.
@cjrhoades same. Had an original pebble for the longest time. If I didn't get an apple watch from cowboom (rip...) I'd probably pick this up.
@akumax Yeah, I got mine from Cowboom as well. Less than half price for a 42mm gold/midnight blue sport model was too good to pass up. The description said used but I couldn't tell.
That's a weird looking speaker dock.
@heartny Uh, it's pretty clearly a knife. They sold out of speaker docks so now it's Knife Friday.
@heartny @lljk I came here for a drone.
I was a backer this is a phenomenal watch, works great with Android and IOS
I love my kickstarter pebble... I would love to grab this... but this is meh... I expect to pay $50 at meh...
@thismyusername It'd be $50 if it was as unpopular as the Meta M1 sold previously. A 30% discount off the Amazon price for something so popular as the Pebble Time is a deal for sure.
@cjrhoade perhaps, but they have curated a group of cheapskates here... this is their own doing.
Yep, had the original pebble and now have the pebble time steel. Great smartwatch, this is a fantastic price. No need for a third tho. Pebble is good with updates and bug fixes.
Why is smart watch one word?
Digitalwatch? Selfwindingwatch? Quartzwatch? Swisswatch?
@MehnofLaMehncha Wristwatch is one word, but pocket watch is two. That one's weird to me.
Bought the original Pebble for $85 new about a year ago and the only thing I didn't like was the shiny bezel and plastic screen, both of which ended up covered. This looks like a worthy upgrade.
Awesome for quickly checking messages in a work environment that prohibits cell phones from being visible.
@blueyed510
Original pebble? Like, magma?
As a current OG pebble owner. I bought one. It's 60$ cheaper than anywhere else and it's the same price as my e-ink(6bit color one) if you have ever thought about getting a smart watch, just do it!
@septag0n (psst check sams and I assume costco as well)
edit: my bad they are back to 125 at sams, guess it was an in store deal that has lapsed.
I think I'll put a fob on my phone and call it a pocket watch.
@cercopithecoid
Go for the golden poo!
@thismyusername Ooh, I like the golden
Man I am wearing my black time right now. It's almost tempting to get a second one just in case this one breaks or the battery starts dying.

@bph i had trouble with my screen glitching. Pebble asked me to take a couple pictures and sent me a replacement, no questions asked... But I bought one today anyway hahaha
I ain't got time for this deal.
I'm sorely tempted to get this but I suspect that's due to sleep deprivation. I might come back in the morning...
@justan79 unlike previous watches at meh
*cough meta*
, I will say that pebbles are pretty nice smart watches... and are STILL updated regularly... even the original black and white pebbles are getting updates and features.@thismyusername Ok, I'm going to use this as motivation. If I can finish writing up 2 sets of reports before falling asleep, I'll get this.
@thismyusername Did reports, falling asleep, ordered watch. We'll see if I regret this in 4 hours when I have to get up for work...
If only it had a rate monitor so I could replace my Fitbit hr with something more functional..
@Alien88 https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/tylt-vu-pulse-for-pebble-time--2#/
Coming soon to a pebble near you, Pebble has donated to the support of them.
@rileyper yeah, i saw that but I like the always measuring functionality of the Charge HR. Also.. I wonder what that will do to the battery life.
@Alien88 I don't know, but as a bonus it also gives Qi charging capabilities.
as for measuring functionality I don't know anything about that but it works great with google health and IOS health.
also there is this NFC smart strap but without HR and Qi but it adds a usb charging port to it.
@rileyper i wish they had a qi plate for my lg g watch.
@Alien88 spouse has the Fitbit Surge, which measures constantly. She charges it once a week.
@bratling i have to charge the fitbit hr every 2 days, ever since there firmware update late last year..
These are still around???
I've already got one from backing the Kickstarter project, but I'm sort of tempted anyway. I love mine. Battery life of 5+ days even with heavy use.
Here's a review I wrote for GeekWire: http://www.geekwire.com/2015/pebble-time-live-kickstarter-hype/
@njd yea it would really suck to get stuck with one of these in a fuku too...
I would buy one in a heartbeat if I hadn't fucked up my budget for the month.
Again.
Really the best smartwatch on the market. The new Pebble Health app is as good as a fitbit.
Dont forget, all the fun accessories
Price seems maybe a bit high for what it does, innit? I'd rather have the LG Urbane, but can't justify the spend. This one though... doesn't seem to do much more than my $15 Meta.

@5665150 So, for the sort of person who immediately disables Siri on their phone, how is the iOS integration?
@5665150 actually, you can now reply to text messages with your voice on iOS (att only)
@brhfl I think it's great generally but there is nothing you can use your voice for unless you are on ATT. Is there anything specific you are looking for it to do?
@mehrk absolutely true. I forgot to mention that. Thank you. I also wonder if it would work with iPad iMessage if a wi-fi only device.
If I didn't already have my Pebble Time Steel, I'd probably buy this one. $90's a steal to me.
I need a smartring to control my smartwatch that controls my smartphone.
@defibrillator How about a smart-belt-buckle as well? And smart-cuff-links? And smart-earings?
I got an original Pebble on deep discount but had one complaint. Somehow, somewhere I must have bumped into something that caused a huge ugly scratch across the watch face. Clearly it did not have Gorilla Glass if it can be seriously damaged with light use.

@jnwc try again, maybe they are more lax now and will replace it. i had mine replaced over xmas break. boom, new watch as well.
I would be on this in a heartbeat if I hadn't gotten a pebble classic steel for Christmas as a present.
They choose to display one single screen on the phone over several pictures with no clue as to what the other screens look like or if there's different watch faces...
I wouldn't buy this. I have a $10 watch with a 10 year old battery that still tells the time just fine at least twice a day. And I'm pretty sure both watches would score equally on an I.Q. test.
Get $90 in real pebbles instead.
@jnwc Wonder if you got a bad device. Not saying that it couldn't be the company, just curious if the product you received had issues.
@jnwc I had similar issues with a Pebs Classic that was out of warranty. I went through the support stuff here
http://help.getpebble.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1774495-screen-issues-?b_id=8515
And they ended up replacing the watch for me. It works great for me on Android (many flavors, now at Marshmallow).
Came here hoping to buy a knife. Meh.
Btw, battery of Apple Watch lasts 2 days for me. :P
@grmeyer How much do you use it though? I think people get less because most people buying them are power users that try to get the most out of it. I'm sure if you didn't touch it, it would last quite a while.
I'm sticking with my Pebble Time Round.
@dunda I have a Moto 360, and if there's one thing I like more than anything else, it's that it doesn't look like a 1980's Nelsonic game watch.
@JerseyFrank now i want to buy 1980's Nelsonic game watch
I love my Pebble watch. Excited to try this.
I was an original Pebble Time Kickstarter backer, and I LOVE my Pebble Time. Enough that I'm wondering if I should get my brother one....
Can I choose color?
@mae456rn Yes. As long as you choose black.
@mae456rn I watched linustechtips review of the watch. He did a sponsor spot for dbrand and I went to check and they have a ton of colors and you can pick different colors for the buttons, front face edge (idk what else to call this), etc.
https://dbrand.com/shop/pebble-time
Nice cause you get color options and it also protects your watch.
@Skylord123 Kind of disappointing it doesn't come with a screen protector. I've heard the pebble time screen is supper prone to scratching.
Just a FYI if you buy this.. You can customize the colors if you buy a dbrand skin.
https://dbrand.com/shop/pebble-time
Just in case people didn't see my reply to @mae456rn.
@Skylord123 have you tried it? i wonder how long it lasts with regular wear and tear
@username I haven't personally. But I saw the orange one Linus had and I was jealous. Then I found they have a ton of colors.
Linus said in the video he smacked it against the wall and it protected the watch nicely.
EDIT: Start at 7:30 if you want to skip the other crap.
@Skylord123 Love my Pebs.
Holy shit that Linus dude is a n n o y i n g.
Thanks for the dbrand tip though!
@mehvermore Yup. Excited to get the watch and the skin. Should be pretty cool looking
I had an OG Pebble, an OG Pebble Steel (still have it), and now this one. Hopefully I like this one even more than the other 2.
@Felter Naturally immediately after posting I find a review which says RunKeeper is a built-in app. Bought!
How to get on list for last call (?) or the opportunity to get the item after " sold out ".
@bz229 https://meh.com/forum/topics/faq
@bz229 Maybe they'll get more on another day. Or maybe they'll show up on MorningSave for slightly more than they cost here.
@bz229 Last call only happens if an item isn't sold out, you're a VMP, and it's before 6 AM EST the next day.
So happy to see my rat is having fun!
His brother, sitting on my shelf among the screaming monkeys, is jealous.
I am unreasonably happy that this item sold out because it means that many more people are possibly going to be as happy as I am with the watch.
I might be unreasonably excited to get this watch in! Anyone's order move beyond processing, yet?
@Arnth Same here, I'm getting pretty antsy about it.
@Arnth Still waiting here, hope it gets shipped soon.
@Arnth Just got my tracking info!
@mcarvo88 Same!
Per the item, the delivery says 3/28-3/30. Since it will probably be smartpost then I am guessing that they should go out soon. I hope they get sent nlt tomorrow. Otherwise it won't meet the 3/30 date for me.
@derek17j Likewise. Love my Pebble OG, but anxious to upgrade to the PT and its voice replies.
@mcarvo88 I just got my shipping notice with a delivery date of 3/31. So 8 days to deliver :(
@derek17j Just got my tracking info this morning, ETA is 3/30.
@mgriffioen fingers crossed that the ride from TX to MA is faster than predicted and I get it sooner.
@blackcilantro did you contact support?
@blackcilantro Origin-based, see here.
@brhfl Thanks! this explains it since I am from California.
Amazon Gold Box Deal of the Day: Pebble Time Smartwatches
Oh...
@leveach The "time" model they are selling for 90 are refurbs, the ones meh sold were new for 90.
The "time round" ones appear to be new and are at 129.
