@Bumplepimp@chienfou I was really surprised a couple of years ago when I needed some stitches over my eye they used superglue instead of stitches. OMG that burned. Who knew? I’d hate to think of it “down there”.
@Bumplepimp@Kidsandliz Yeah, that stuff is great. I used to keep a Dollartree battery powered fan to use to blow on the wound after we put the Dermabond (aka LiquiBand) on. It kept us from blowing spit all over the place when you try to blow on it by mouth.
Also… just a FYI. Do not let the glue run down onto your eyelashes… it WILL glue your eye shut! One of our ER docs did that to a kid once. I never let them put any glue around an eye without putting a dab of Neosporin ointment on the eyelashes but I wasn’t in the room when he did it. (ounce of prevention and all that…)
@Bumplepimp@chienfou I had some eyebrows hairs glued together when they glued the skin. And a piece of it pulled up on one side as the wound was still weeping a bit 2 hours later. I guess the skin needs to be totally dry for it to completely stick. Had to go back for them to redo about 1/2 of it. Told them when I argued about 2 potential ER charges (they wanted me to sign me in again as if it was a new trip about something else) that this was warranty work so please just use my previous sign in.
@Bumplepimp@Kidsandliz the glue reacts with any blood and will bubble up and get hard but not stick well if there is any active bleeding.
Thankfully you didn’t get your lashes glued together.
If the box costs more than the jewelry, you need to rethink something.
At Christmas I bought a niece a nice thing for like $20 and went to ship it a week ahead. Due to weight and ground being unable to guarantee by the 24th, it was ~$25 to ship. I mulled that over for a few.
I am looking for something inexpensive to get my daughters for Valentine’s day. This looks nice enough for a 5 year old, but with shipping prices out a bit too high.
every time meh has this jewelry it reminds me of how, in elementary school, the “school store” would take over the library each year at christmas. and it was full of junky jewelry like this, cheap cologne, mugs, brooches, etc. so we’d all get to feel like we went shopping for gifts for our families. of course, it was our parents who gave us the money to buy this horrible shit for them and then they had to pretend to like it on xmas morning and at least a month afterward.
it’s a fond memory in many ways but…all i’m saying is, don’t put people through that as an adult. if you need jewelry, go on etsy. i kind of loathe giving etsy any money these days but they do have a lot of beautiful handmade jewelry that you can get for under $20-30. (if you think of it, find a maker you like and before you hit that buy button see if they have their own website first.)
@jerk_nugget Yes Etsy does have some nice stuff once you shift through all the mass made Chinese junk. Takes time to look as the search engine is poorly organized but worth the time as some people who make lovely things severely underestimate what they could have charged for their efforts.
My mom had been lamenting she had no wedding ring anymore (dad died young years ago and she gave her only grandson her engagement and wedding ring for his wife to be), missed dad and missed having something on her finger to remind her of him.
So over christmas when I was home I borrowed a ring measure, found her size, and culled the internet for affordable (like low end costume jewelry price range without looking tacky) wedding rings. She picked through them and found something she loved. Etsy. Sterling silver and probably about 0.3 carats total of essentially round cut diamond chips. Had it shipped to her. She loves it. (She should as she picked it out LOL).
I was talking to her on the phone last week when it came and she said she wished she had had that for her actual wedding ring; wished dad had given it to her. I told her well 1/2 of dad did since I have half her genes; if her other kids go in on it (her birthday is next month but I figured let her wear it now since she really, really wanted it) then likely between us we have all his genes but the Y chromosome (the Y chromosome sibling died when he was 24) so in effect he did give it to her. Fortunately she thought that was funny.
@grammajeanie - you can get it on morningsave.com, but it costs $17. Unless you’re a VMP member, and get 10% off and free shipping.
(Bet it will come up by itself one of these days - I check meh AND morningsave every day, i.e., addicted. oy.)
Okay grasshoppa’s - to repeat myself, NeNe here says you can get the box on Morningsave.com but of course it costs more, i.e., $17. If you’re a VMP it’s 10% off and free shipping. Or you can wait and see if it comes up on a daily sale again.

Does anyone here speak with a diamond accent?
If so, can you teach it to me in time for Valentine’s day?
It’s the ugliest fucking thing I’ve ever seen. I hate it. It’s beautiful.
Repeat after me, “Costume jewelry is not for Valentines!” Unless you are really that cheap. Meh is gonna sell out tonight.
@hchavers It worked for Christmas, she loved it.
(Of course it was just one of several presents, but still, it didn’t get me slapped.)
@blaineg an easily pleased woman is a diamond in the ruff. Congrats on your great find.
@hchavers She is a great find, but the “easy to please” varies considerably. I try though.

Umm. No effing way. I have to sleep some time and I don’t want to wake up with my testicles superglued to my taint!
@chienfou Hahahahaha!!! Thanks for that!
@chienfou Yeah, acetone really burns that particular area…

Yea thanks, I hate it.

@Bumplepimp @chienfou Yeah I found that out the hard way.
the box ain’t so bad.
but that janky necklace…ouch…

WOW, six one-thousandths of a carat… or is that carrots? A super Meh deal, probably worth at least $6.25… or perhaps $0.00625.
@MrNews thank you for the replacement!!
@Expolady You’re welcome. I’m sorry the original did not work out/got lost/was broken/didn’t fit.

No thanks, I’d rather not have this “gift” forced down my urethra.
No thanks, I’ve got Valentine’s covered.
Wait, did I miss Christmas?
@Kenbo Nope! It’s coming up in just 341 days!

No woman wants this…
I just want the jewelry box!! Why the hell can’t we just buy that??!! No one wants that necklace. Unless you want a green neck in a few days. . .

Of course the box costs more than the necklace! I knew that would be true before I even looked at the pricing breakdown. Quality boxes cost $$

Hey look what showed up today! LOL!! So funny!! I’m a happy camper now.
@grammajeanie happy day!
