Wow, what an awesome demonstration of the difference between no gimbal and gimbal. Amazing how much smoother the video is with the gimbal. After watching how choppy the no gimbal version is, the gimbal version seems almost cinema-like.
@shawn I'm hoping the step up from a 2-axis to 3-axis gimbal will be another step up for me. When I see videos shot with a 3-axis zenmuse, I'm almost always in awe how stable the vidoes are. I was very happy with my 2-axis gimbal, then I started seeing shakes which can be eliminated with a 3-axis gimbal. Most of those are induced by rotating the quad in the vertical axis.
I bought a cheap gimbal and it caused a strange interference with the p1.1.1 I gave it to a friend to try, and put a walkera plastic 2d on mine and it works great. It was about $75
@garyhgaryh its hard to explain but it made the throttle glitch and it would fly away if i didnt stop it. Even with it unplugged it did it, so the aluminum body had to be blocking something or a magnet in one of the motors was wonky and messing with the compass
@nltownsend843 if the gimbal was near the compass than I can totally see the magnet's in the gimbal motors causing it to go wonky. That'll have to be on my check list when/if mine gets here from China.
@DJMajickMan Lots of people seem to have good luck with them, i might have just had a bad one. But im very happy with the walkera plastic one i have now, walkera is a trusted brand and its a good bit lighter than the Chinese gimbal.
@nltownsend843 I've been pleased with all my Walkera equipment as well. Although I'm happy with my Chinese "light" gimbal, it's not quite as smooth in operation and definitely not as sleek in design as my Walkera G3D
Nice video @garyhgaryh my gimbal just came in the mail and I am trouble shooting it a bit as it seems to stop working after a few seconds. Did you have to configure yours out of the box? I think I bought the same lightweight 160g one that you did.
